To ask what you use as deodorant?

I've always just used cheap roll ons, I don't sweat much but I want to smell fresh as I work closely with others.

However, I've been seeing all these new fancy deodorants in the supermarkets lately and they're just so expensive and I'm scared to try one in case they're rubbish because I can buy ten of my regular deodorant for the price of one of these - I'm really skeptical that their performance matches my existing roll on. Is this the way the world is going though? Is it worth giving them a shot? Or are you one of these people who genuinely somehow don't even need to use any? I've had a couple of colleagues who whiff every so often, and I really don't want to. Its a bit of a shameless request for people's experiences before I go and potential waste my money.

Bionsen roll on, unscented. I really like it. It's hard to find in the shops round here, so I get multi-buys from Amazon. Very cheap!

dottiedodah · 14/05/2025 05:01

I like Dove .however I find after a while I need to swap to another as still.seems to smell! Using Sure atm..

Thepollonator · 14/05/2025 09:06

I use Bionsen and I think it's excellent, no aluminium!

Maddy70 · 14/05/2025 09:59

Dove creme is the best

If your usual roll on works for you then why change it and spend more money on one?

Yes I am really wondering this now! Thank you for all the responses, really helpful. I think partly because it's glass with a plastic ball so I never know how to recycle. But also because the new ones do dominate the shelves now and wondered if perhaps there really had been a revolution and I am missing out on something safer, more effective and better for the planet. But I think I might just stick to my usual nivea - or try Dove/Mitchum and others which have had a lot of mentions here

I use dove maximum, it annoys me paying for it when there’s others on the shelf for £1.
I only use it because it’s the only one that works for me, so I tend to buy it when it comes on offer for £4 or sometimes buy from amazon 3 for £12

I'm quite a sweaty/smelly person & my go to is mitchum gel (not the roll on/gel cream). It's £5 from Asda & is excellent. Don't even smell after 24+ hours. Fussy is also good & smells nice. I gave it a try as felt it would be better for the environment but I reverted back to the gel. Sounds like either would work well for you. The fussy coconut smells so good!

I find men's stuff much better than women's. I use Sure black and white roll on.

WinterNightStars · 23/09/2025 11:17

Right guard spray or sure roll on.

BengalBangle · 23/09/2025 16:29

White vinegar & baking soda.

stayathomer · 23/09/2025 16:30

Just treated myself to moogoo, blown away by how lovely it feels compared to sure/ dove!! Seven euro so pricey for me!

BestDIL · 30/09/2025 17:42

Salt of the Earth crystal. £5 from Holland and Barrett and lasts around 2 years. Been using it for around 15 years and never had a problem with odour.

Sure Men’s deodorant. Works better than women’s for some reason.

This!

But Dove mens is my favourite. No cream issues!
