I've always just used cheap roll ons, I don't sweat much but I want to smell fresh as I work closely with others.

However, I've been seeing all these new fancy deodorants in the supermarkets lately and they're just so expensive and I'm scared to try one in case they're rubbish because I can buy ten of my regular deodorant for the price of one of these - I'm really skeptical that their performance matches my existing roll on. Is this the way the world is going though? Is it worth giving them a shot? Or are you one of these people who genuinely somehow don't even need to use any? I've had a couple of colleagues who whiff every so often, and I really don't want to. Its a bit of a shameless request for people's experiences before I go and potential waste my money.

Usually whichever is the cheapest - I’m often scandalised at the prices of some of them! Sure anti perspirant used to be a pound! Now the shops are trying to tell me that they’re on offer for £3.95!

blubbyblub · 13/05/2025 12:12

What are these fancy deodorants you see OP

if what you are using is working why bother changing. It’s just deodorant. Or just try one. How much do you have to lose? A few pounds? Just try one

Antiperspirant. Sure max. Nothing else works for me.

ManchesterLu · 13/05/2025 12:19

I've recently started trying Salt of the Earth. It's weird. It smells of nothing, feels like nothing, looks like nothing. But it works! I actually don't like it because it's so odd not smelling anything, but it works! I don't know if I can get used to it!

Mary46 · 13/05/2025 12:21

They pricey in Dublin 8euro! I use lidl spray or Dove or Right Guard.

ghostyslovesheets · 13/05/2025 12:26

Thanks to menopause every single thing caused me to get huge red raw bumps under my arms - very itchy!

a friend who was going through chemo suggested Moogoo and it the only thing my skin copes with.

thesugarbumfairy · 13/05/2025 12:29

I use this one because I seem to whiff more now I'm a bit older and this does the trick https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08DDSTMCC

Try the Fussy coconut milk fragrance. I’ve tried some of the other fragrances but found they an be a bit stingy if applied straight after shaving. The coconut one is lovely and gentle though.

Skybyrd · 13/05/2025 12:34

Mitchum stick (shower fresh if I can get it) in Summer/warmer months and Wild Ocean Fresh in Winter/cooler months.

This combo works well for me. I really like Wild one, but I need a good anti-perspirant in warm months, hence using the very effective Mitchum I'm likely to sweat a lot.

Quacking4it · 13/05/2025 12:35

Sanex roll on. Lots burn me, mitxham was the worst it was agony!

bugaboo218 · 13/05/2025 12:37

I used to use sure stick antiperspirant for years and years and it was fine.

Don't know if sure have recently changed their formula, but I can no longer use it , as my arm pits were red raw and itchy after use.

I now use dove maximum on hot days, or for exercising . Vichy roll on for everyday use it keeps my pits fresh all day and a dove spray for under my boobs and feet.

If you like what you are using op why swap?

Nushi21 · 13/05/2025 12:41

Mitchum roll on and spray. I have both, and use either as and when. I don’t sweat much on my body but my head gets sweaty easily. Imagine a spray for your scalp!!

Like you I’ve seen many ads for new deodorants, I just stick to what I know. Also some antiperspirant sprays have way too many particles and that triggers my breathing.

mondaytosunday · 13/05/2025 12:43

Mitchum.

DoAWheelie · 13/05/2025 12:45

Dove or Sure cream sticks. The roll one or the sprays don't do anything for me and I feel a sticky mess soon after. I have asthma so I prefer to avoid sprays anyway.

AlpacaMittens · 13/05/2025 12:48

I use Sure spray antiperspirant, it smells amazing and it really works for me.

I should add that I've stopped shaving my armpits - I trim armpit hair very short but do not completely shave. I've found this helps me massively - I sweat much less, and my sweat smells much less.

It's almost as if armpit hair have a purpose and a reason why they're there!! 🤣😅🤗🙌🏼

AlertEagle · 13/05/2025 12:53

I’ve tried the eco friendly one but didn’t work for me. I don’t sweat much and went back to using Sure the one for black and white clothes.

RaininSummer · 13/05/2025 12:59

Sanex. I don't understand these 48 hour ones. Don't people wash?

leviosaluna · 13/05/2025 12:59

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 13/05/2025 07:30

I use Sure or Dove Maximum Protection (a cream one that costs a lot more than a standard roll-on). But I need something longer lasting than standard. You don't, so stick with what you know works for you and save yourself a few quid. You're trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist for you.

That ^^
I use the same and usually buy in bulk off Amazon

EveryDayisFriday · 13/05/2025 13:03

Mitchum roll on or stick still work well for me.

I do swear by washing sweaty areas daily (pits, bits and undertits) with bar soap 🧼 and there is no smell, despite being a gym goer and in peri meno.

LindorDoubleChoc · 13/05/2025 13:04

I've been loyal to the Sanex 0% aluminium salts stick since I discovered it maybe 10 years ago (?). It glides on really smoothly, no white marks, very subtle fresh scent which is nice while you're putting it on but doesn't interfere with other perfumes, and mostly of all it doesn't irritate my armpits.

Agree with a pp - if you want to sweat less, don't shave! It makes such a difference.

Sanex

Yes. I can see they would be useful for say a long haul flight to New Zealand, but otherwise?

I use this. Have done for years. Very cost effective and totally natural. One of these crystals lasts about 18 months!

JoshLymanSwagger · 13/05/2025 13:10

Dove spray.

I don't like the stick or roll on ones. They always seem sticky afterwards, as if you have to wander around your bedroom with your arms in the air for 5 mins.

LondonSamantha · 13/05/2025 13:12

Mitcham, specifically the roll on is amazing
