To ask what you use as deodorant?

I've always just used cheap roll ons, I don't sweat much but I want to smell fresh as I work closely with others.

However, I've been seeing all these new fancy deodorants in the supermarkets lately and they're just so expensive and I'm scared to try one in case they're rubbish because I can buy ten of my regular deodorant for the price of one of these - I'm really skeptical that their performance matches my existing roll on. Is this the way the world is going though? Is it worth giving them a shot? Or are you one of these people who genuinely somehow don't even need to use any? I've had a couple of colleagues who whiff every so often, and I really don't want to. Its a bit of a shameless request for people's experiences before I go and potential waste my money.

Fussy. I like that it's eco friendly packaging and also has no aluminium in it, which is linked to breast cancer. Apparently it also smells nice.

I’m trying to get on with fussy for all the reasons mentioned! I find I sometimes whiff a bit at the end of the day though, maybe I’m not putting enough on.

Swiftie1878 · 13/05/2025 08:20

I use Soft and Gentle. Smells nice, keeps me dry and doesn’t sting when I’ve just shaved!

SwanOfThoseThings · 13/05/2025 08:21

'Sure' roll-on usually, unless something similar is on offer when I buy it. The only 'supermarket' anti-perspirant I have ever found not to work was the Lidl 'Cien' one.

RaspberryBeretxx · 13/05/2025 11:01

I use the Natural deodorant company active ones naturaldeoco.com/product/active-deodorant-balm-lemon-geranium-55g/

I prefer to use aluminium free. I find it works great but you have to get through a couple of months of slightly more smell at the beginning if your stop using anti perspirant. It's like your body takes a little while to get used to it.

Roundaboot · 13/05/2025 11:11

I really like Wild and find it's very effective on me, although I'm not a particularly sweaty person. Since using it regularly, I do find that if I use a regular antiperspirant then I absolutely reek by the end of the day. If you wanted to try it out, they do little travel versions that only cost a couple of quid and are handy if you want to reapply during the day.

Horrace · 13/05/2025 11:16

Sanex or Nivea men's anti perspirent deodorant. I share with husband. Don't bother buying separate.
Used to buy Dove stick for me but sharing a spray is easier and cheaper

KimberleyClark · 13/05/2025 11:22

Fussy. Works well for me and I love that it’s natural, aluminium free and how eco friendly it is.

Thelnebriati · 13/05/2025 11:24

I used to use Sure but developed an allergy. Now I use Lidl own brand mens anti perspirant. Its hypoallergenic, lasts two days and costs about a pound.

Needanadultgapyear · 13/05/2025 11:25

Another Wild person I use either sea salt and Cotton or Thunderstorm.
My main reason for switching was reduction in plastic use and also not wanting to use aerosol for same environmental reason.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 13/05/2025 11:27

I suffer with hyperhidrosis so I use triple dry in the evening and a sure spray during the day.

That has Kaolin in it, which is a clay largely composed of aluminium silicate, so not aluminium free.

TallulahBetty · 13/05/2025 11:27

Mitchum roll-on, been using it since I was 12. I NEED both deod + antipersp.

I tried Wild for 6 weeks and wanted to love it, but I never came out the other side of the 'sweaty smelly mess' stage. Back to trusty Mitchum I crawled.

Oh, I didn't know that! Thanks.

I've actually started making my own as well so maybe will stick with that (I just use coconut oil, bicarb of soda and arrowroot powder with essential oil).

TheWibble · 13/05/2025 11:29

I use Sainsburys own brand antiperspirant spray. Although in the hot weather I switch to Mitchum ultimate, as the Sainsburys doesn't cut it when the temp goes above 25.

GoldDuster · 13/05/2025 11:41

I picked one up in TK Maxx years ago by ClayDry, and now have to track it down on the internet, as it's brilliant.

Superscientist · 13/05/2025 11:42

Another wild person. It has made a huge difference!

Midnightlove · 13/05/2025 11:44

I use the Mitcham stick one. The only one I've found to last and not end up with smelly pits

brettsalanger · 13/05/2025 11:46

I really rate fussy.

Hollieandtheivie · 13/05/2025 11:46

I use Mum sensitive roll on. When I've tried others, I've had skin irritation. I'm definitely smellier in peri though.

smallglassbottle · 13/05/2025 11:48

I can only use Dove as I'm allergic to everything else, even the 'natural' eco type ones.

ItGhoul · 13/05/2025 11:50

I sweat a lot and I use Mitchum Ultimate Gel (not the ordinary Mitchum stick/roll-on - the clear gel one). It's more expensive than normal antiperspirant but I find it miles more effective and it doesn't leave marks on clothes.

Moier · 13/05/2025 11:51

Mitcham
Used it like forever.
Dries your arms up. My GP recommended it to me when l was 15

Firstruleofsoupover · 13/05/2025 12:00

Fit Pit. Not a great name, but comes in a glass pot and lasts three months. It is very nice. All that bother of having to wash a t shirt or blouse after each wear -gone. I’ve been on it for around five years.

The shop takes back empty pot and lid, and gives you 20p off the next pot.

Sahara123 · 13/05/2025 12:02

Mitchum roll on. With as little smell as possible

DoNotStandOnRotatingChairs · 13/05/2025 12:08

Rexina hard one, not roll on.
For auper busy days perspirex.

Both are smashing imho
