I've always just used cheap roll ons, I don't sweat much but I want to smell fresh as I work closely with others.

However, I've been seeing all these new fancy deodorants in the supermarkets lately and they're just so expensive and I'm scared to try one in case they're rubbish because I can buy ten of my regular deodorant for the price of one of these - I'm really skeptical that their performance matches my existing roll on. Is this the way the world is going though? Is it worth giving them a shot? Or are you one of these people who genuinely somehow don't even need to use any? I've had a couple of colleagues who whiff every so often, and I really don't want to. Its a bit of a shameless request for people's experiences before I go and potential waste my money.

I use two. Fussy lasts all day & smells lovely. I would smell the next day though. Mitchum gel (not cream/roll on/spray though) is excellent, no sweating or smelly BO but has no scent 🙂

SP2024 · 13/05/2025 13:19

Nivea Pearl ideally but also use sanex and the Aldi own roll on.

okydokethen · 13/05/2025 13:30

sanex

Miri13 · 13/05/2025 14:20

I use Wild. Have a nice container that I refill when it runs out. I buy refills and there are a nice selection of scents, good for environment also. I’ve not had any complaints so far.

Reonie · 13/05/2025 15:01

Mitchum Unscented roll-on then a spray of Clarins Eau Dynamisante

I don't like the smell of most anti-perspirants on me but I do like a nice fresh smell

NotSmallButFunSize · 13/05/2025 15:02

Has anyone tried Make Waves?

I have literally used everything and still I end up a sweaty, stinky mess 😔

The only thing that has ever helped are those types like Driclor that you put on at night but the itching is insane!

Getting really fed up with it

KellySeveride · 13/05/2025 15:05

Sure for men, or right guard for men.

Mens definitely works better than women’s for some reason. And also it saves buying two different types.

NeverEndingSnorey · 13/05/2025 15:24

i have been using Secret gel, which I stock up on visits to the US, made a massive difference. I also use Fussy.

I sweat on my forehead, would a crystal rock thing work? Tempted to try.

Icanttakeanymore1 · 13/05/2025 15:25

Non aluminium, I use a cream stick from a major pharmacy. Works well and no chemical smell.

hairyunicorn · 13/05/2025 15:30

I use Nuud. 100% natural, no smell and Its amazing!!
Gone down from once per day to every other day. i never smell

Nutmuncher · 13/05/2025 15:33

Salt of the Earth Crystal deodorant from H&B

Lasts for months, no smell, no itch, no mess.

Bettyfromhomeroom · 13/05/2025 15:59

I use my boyfriends Dove clean comfort as I think it smells lovely and it's not too manly and keeps me protected all day

Have you used the sure cream one applied at night? The one that’s about a fiver

muddyford · 13/05/2025 16:10

Sure for men, Sanex ditto, Mitchum ditto. Whichever is on offer. Mitchum on offer is excellent value per ml.

NannyR · 13/05/2025 16:57

I use a crystal stone - I think the one I have at the moment is "salt of the earth". It doesn't stop me sweating but it keeps me completely odour free and one stone (£5ish) will last for several years.

PruthePrune · 13/05/2025 17:10

@orangegato

Same. Men's stuff is much more effective than women's.

GinghamMistress · 13/05/2025 17:54

I have one excessively BO prone armpit, nothing has ever reached including Mitcham. My friend who runs marathons recommended Perspiguard which I only apply 1-2 times per week. It does have aluminum in it though but has given me such relief for years now, I used to be so so embarrassed.

If your cheap one works then keep at it!

StripyHorse · 13/05/2025 18:01

I used to use Bionsen stick which was fine, but I switched to Wild to save packaging. If you want to try that (or Gussy) I would recommend either looking for a free sample offer, or try the refill without the case first so you aren't wasting as much money only to find it doesn't suit.

Summersunshinebliss · 13/05/2025 19:17

I use wild and love it. It's transformed my stinking bo peri meno pits. My tip would be to apply it gently and in lines across rather than up and down. I first tried it up and down the way and it was a bit messy at times but think I was using to much pressure. It lasts for ages and I can get dressed immediately including black clothes that it doesn't mark (this blew my mind)

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/05/2025 19:27

I use Sure or Dove roll on. Sprays make me cough.

Downtrod · 13/05/2025 19:28

Solid crystal deodorant from Amazon its un perfumed and I never smell and it lasts about a year its called salt of the eath £5.99

lovemycbf · 13/05/2025 19:29

If your regular deodorant works well for you then don’t change it

Brbreeze · 13/05/2025 19:30

I’m a fussy convert.

Wanted something without nasties when I was breastfeeding a newborn and have continued using it. It is deodorant not antiperspirant but it really works at stopping smell. Personally I found Wild rubbish but I know some people get on with it.

IOYOYO · 13/05/2025 19:34

Fussy works brilliantly for me. I tried it after everything else failed and it’s been great. I did have an allergic reaction to the standard formula so switched to the sensitive one and it’s better than anything else. I do still sweat but don’t have a problem with smelling.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 13/05/2025 19:42

I was fortunate enough to capture a bager in my garden, well I say garden maybe more a wildlife preserve, anyway I rub it's bttm (not sure I can use words like that on here) under my arms and RESULT! you don't get a wiff of the old Body Odour (B.O.) although to be fair I do get some snarely looks from Jack Russells.
