To think forced starvation is just plain evil!

On the BBC today. The UN has condemned using man made starvation as a war tactic. Surely we can come to a general consensus that whatever you think about the conflict, Israel's actions here are just plain evil?

There were protests last night against Netanyahu in Israel for this reason.

Such breathtaking callousness. This poster and another in particular are vile in their attitudes.

I stay off these threads nowadays and am berating myself for coming onto this one.

Absolutely nothing justifies what Israel is doing. Nothing.

Was it ever really about the hostages though? The situation has given Netanyahu the perfect excuse for clearing out a problematic area of the region then claiming the land for themselves. Releasing any hostages won't stop the killing. Anyone who believes otherwise is either lying or deluded. It's a cruel, cynical ploy by Netanyahu.

See, what I find cynical is to somehow twist Hamas attacking Israel on October 7th into „a perfect excuse for Netanyahu“.

There were approximately 10,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prison, most without charge, before October 7th, some of them since childhood.

When people call for the release of the hostages, I do hope they also mean the Palestinians unlawfully held without charge, some for many, many years (technically they are hostages, not prisoners because thry haven'tbeen on trial).

Dr Abu Safiya is still detained without charge and witnesses say he is being tortured.

Israel is certainly losing public support. Both Alistair Campbell and Tory MP Mark Pritchard spoke out against Israel's actions this week.

Cynically realistic I'd say. He's leader of a far right government isn't he? They're not really known for being ethical or fair minded. Opportunistic though. One can hardly say he's not benefiting from the 'situation'. Time will tell of course.

So why don’t they make it harder for the countries that support Israel by releasing the hostages anyway?

I'm literally just responding to the three words they said "Israel is evil". That's hardly me twisting anything. We all have free will. They chose to write that.

Why is Israel worse than North Korea? I mean NK is pretty bad- killed literally millions of their own people. Starved, brutalised, threatened nuclear war, regional destabilisation…

Comedycook, you seem determined to put words in people's mouths. Its as if you are wanting people to say something antisemitic so you can leap on people in glee. Unfortunately for you, no one is antisemitic here. No one wants to see any civilians suffering, whether they are from Israel or Palestine. Everyone was appalled at the horrific violence of 7/10 but feel Israels response has been barbaric.

They said "Israel is evil". If they don't want that challenged or discussed they shouldn't have posted it. What words am I putting in anyone's mouth? I'm literally quoting them.

And I'm pretty sure if someone said "Palestine is evil" they'd be challenged.

Comedy is picking up on the fact people are saying Israel

Comedy is trying to catch people out despite the use of this term has been let go for 17 pages so far on this thread.
No one seems to be upset by its use and not even Comedy up until this point.
