Things that don’t bother you that seem a big deal to other people

Lighthearted really but I honestly can’t understand why anyone would feel precious about a friend forgetting their birthday. My very best friend has forgot a couple of times and it’s more funny than anything else. But other people seem up in arms about things like this.

Weddings… I couldn’t give a shit if someone couldn’t make my wedding or posted a photo too soon or whatever else. I’m amazed people care about this stuff.

Obviously there’s plenty I’m highly strung about though! 😅

Oh another one. I never usually care where I sit in a cinema, theatre or restaurant. Some other people seem really bothered by this!

I'm mostly not bothered by this. However, DH and a friend of mine both have a habit in restaurants, just as we've got ourselves settled at one table, of pointing to another table and saying 'Shall we sit over there instead?' which does grind my gears a bit, especially I usually can't see anything better about the other table.

This is my partner too, 100%! It's quite annoying , sitting at a table down or across from where we already are doesn't make a difference to me 🤣

Parking issues and parking wars.

I find it all so tedious and boring the amount people moan on about parking.

Most of the time it's because people absolutely cannot cope with walking for five minutes.

I do not want to hear about your parking.

comeandhaveteawithme · 13/05/2025 12:01

I also don't care where I sit in cinemas, theatres etc. I just want the people around me to be courteous.

Don't care where I sit on buses, trains and planes, as long as other passengers are courteous.

I also could not care less about phones. A smartphone is a smartphone to me. They even look the same. I do not understand people always wanting the latest phone.

Mothers day. It's some nonsense designed to make companies money so I could care less.

Although my 14 year old bought me a 99p bunch of daffs this year because she knows I like them. I was delighted!

Everything mentioned in this thread doesn't bother me. I must be very laid back.

At least I thought this, until I read the above. People typing/saying 'I could care less'. That does bother me Grin

TheaBrandt1 · 13/05/2025 12:07

Sitting by family and friends on a plane (excepting young children who need direct care). Happy to have a couple of hours peace family and friends get really exercised about it - just don’t care!

faerietales · 13/05/2025 12:18

Inspired by a few other threads at the moment - I don’t care about:

People having BBQ’s in their gardens
My washing potentially smelling faintly of BBQ smoke
Double carbs (in fact, the more the better!)
Meals not being perfectly balanced
Eating 30 plants a week (who even comes up with this stuff)
Parking wars and people having “too many cars”

🤣
I know! Sorry! Typo!

Ironically, it drives me mad too, so I am suitably embarrassed. 😂

Whether people (men) lave the toilet seat up or down.

I only mind in our house because my son wees all over the seat. No aim whatsoever.

Verv · 13/05/2025 13:57

DP going out and about and on trips/holidays on her own - brilliant and i love it
Dogs - love to see them out and about, dont care where
Dont care if people forget my birthday
Dont mind swearing
Birkies/Crocs/Uggs - dont care wear what you want
People going to the supermarket in... dont care, they can do what they want.

Think im fairly laid back about most things really.

Roxy69 · 13/05/2025 14:56

People using an area in a cafe designated a dog area, without dogs. (Yesterday) Making people with dogs leave due to no space left. And yes, there were spaces in the non-dog area. Grrrrrr.
If I parked in a disabled/child only space people would rightly flame me.

louderthan · 12/05/2025 18:23

Then again I can’t drive, I make a big fuss about my birthday and I have a toilet brush and bleach, which often upsets people on here.

I was berated on here for NOT having one, a year or so ago! Grin
Depends what the flavour is that day, it seems.

PointsSouth · 14/05/2025 16:50

I cannot get at all wound up about....

Crumbs in the butter.

Spouse using first towel that comes to hand.

Squirrels digging up bulbs.

Leaving the washing up till tomorrow.

Fractious toddlers on aeroplanes.

Cars.

Loads of schoolchildren at bus stops.

Inconvenient rain.

Two for three offers when we only need two of it, and we'll just throw the other one away, so why bloody take it?

StarlightLady · 14/05/2025 17:00

Being seen naked. We all have bodies.

PointsSouth · 14/05/2025 18:55

Also, running my eye down, current trending threads, I'm not bothered by...

Neighbours using their gardens a lot.

People in council houses owning flash cars.

One's University-age children growing their hair.

Going on holidays with friends but without spouse.

Spouse going on holidays with friends without me.

The Eurovision Song Contest

How much other people earn.

Yes nakedness. I mean I don’t walk around naked or go to nudest beaches or consider myself that free. But if someone happens to see me naked because I haven’t closed a curtain or if I do a quick change of shirt behind a wall and someone spots me with just my bra on … I’m really not bothered.

Also, and please understand that I don’t live in the Uk, I live in a vast country with limited public ablutions or ones you would rather not visit… I have NO problem doing a bush wee when on a road trip.

Fluffy40 · 14/05/2025 19:25

Locking house windows, have never done that .

XenoBitch · 14/05/2025 19:26

Seeing dogs in cafes.

Maybe not. But l don’t live in a war zone, am comfortable being out locally after midnight, but it is still in a condition of my house insurance.

ItGhoul · 15/05/2025 02:16

Walking home alone late at night
Running in deserted areas

whynotmereally · 15/05/2025 05:25

Cutlery being in the wrong compartment, what’s the big deal ?

If cutlery is all mixed up together in all the compartments then I’m wasting time trying to find what I want. Just put it away properly the first time and stop wasting my time!

Relax it takes like 1 second extra!! You sound like my husband 😂

ruethewhirl · 15/05/2025 09:52

Just remembered one from during lockdown - not being able to eat out. I saw a lot of people on social media at the time lamenting the absence of favourite restaurants from their lives but I actually find food pretty boring and really didn’t miss going to restaurants at all.

I see your point, but on the flip side, how many extra seconds would it take you to just put them in the right slots in the first place?
I mean, it wouldn't bother me, either, but in your position for the sake of peace, I'd be the one taking that extra second to just whack the fork into the fork slot.
