evening wise mumsnetters

ive been thinking tonight about loo roll useage (happy bank holiday i hope yours is as thrilling as mine) and i was wondering how long it takes for one person to use up one toilet roll

i will be the first to admit im heavy handed with a loo roll i do use too much BUT I am currently house/pet sitting for a family friend for two weeks and they have left me three loo rolls... 3 loo rolls for 2 weeks, they have vastly underestimated me haven't they

so say you were living alone, how long would one loo roll last you id like to know how off piste i am

If I had 18+ sheets of toilet paper in my loo every use, I would need to flush mid way through. I don't know if it's my plumbing, or plumbing in general in this country (not UK) or perhaps toilet paper is thicker or larger here, but that much loo roll is only asking for blocked pipes.

FYI, family of 5 and a pack of 9 does us between 2 & 3 weeks.

We left a house/dog sitter. Think there was around 7 rolls used in 2.5 weeks.

YANBU

i am peri and had the Mirena coil fitted 2 months ago. I have been spotting every day so using a lot more toilet roll than normal - 3 rolls for 2 weeks would not do

Or took a good supply home with them?

I said it before and I’ll say it again: it all depends on what type of poo you do.
If your poos are messy, which mine mostly are, then I can easily use over 100 squares in one toilet trip (4 squares per wipe, 25 wipes, if not more) and to the previous poster who queried flushes - approximately 3 flushes. I also do the baby lotion trick and use moist wipes but it still needs all that loo roll to get clean. I wish it were different but it isn’t unfortunately. I love the days where it’s 3 wipes and I’m done. Maybe I eat too much fruit and veg?
I don’t have periods very often anymore but again, as previous posters have said, that generates higher loo roll usage too.
Incidentally, have just been away. I used 1.5 rolls in 5 days.

@Macaroni46 Oddly enough, I used to use loads of paper and many wipes. Then I upped my already large fibre intake, aiming for 30g a day, and only need a wipe or two now. I also cut out most UPFs at the same time though so maybe that had something to do with it? And of course, we're all different.
