Squeak squeak burrow burrow. Is that a ferret reversing?

Use men’s or women’s toilets based on biological sex, minister says

Examples?

Again, You are equating transphobia as people advocating for the primacy of women’s rights.

discussing the law is a perfectly legitimate thing to do in any situation. I don’t see any rage. The SC has clarified the meaning of sex but it still seems that even now, even with the law on the side of women’s rights we still get accused of ‘rabid dogs foaming at their mouths with rage’.

trans people do exist - they aren’t a figment of anyone’s imagination. They just are a subset of their biological category not the opposite one. I honestly don’t think that is really that controversial tbh.

TeenagersAngst · 22/04/2025 17:43

Hmm. Not sure that will satisfy the TRAs. Trans women are biological women.

@TeenagersAngst No, they aren’t.Have you skipped your biology lessons?
Biological woman- born as a woman,
biological man - born as a man.

Oh come ON, we all know that using words and logic to explain is every bit as bad as threatening to rape or kill anyone who disagrees! 🙄

LobeliaBaggins · 22/04/2025 18:05

I am afraid I dont care about the tiny number of tall women who look male and who are friends with some posters.

It's more important to have safe spaces for all women.

ghostyslovesheets · 22/04/2025 18:06

@Roxietrees as a gay woman would you have a sexual relationship with a person with a penis - if the answer is no you know that’s transphobia right?

FlakyCritic · 22/04/2025 18:08

Roxietrees · 22/04/2025 17:57

Errr how do you know exactly? Are you a trans woman? Or do you have lots of trans women friends who can give you first hand accounts? Where are you getting these facts from exactly?

Transwomen I follow on social media. And gay men. Also the fact not one single assault on transwomen in the males has ever been reported, and if it happened, they would never stop rubbing 'terfs' faces in it.

So, after all sorts of shenanigans, we're back to how it was around 40 years ago - your gender is defined by the genetalia you had at birth.

As it is in nearly every sensible country.

In fairness, it's not that people don't care about them.

It's more that we can't base policy around every single edge/niche situation. As you say, keeping men out of women's spaces is more important than making sure no tall woman ever gets questioned about her sex.

The sooner men learn to stay away from spaces that don't belong to them, the sooner trust in the social contract can be rebuilt, and these unpleasant situations will become a non issue.

So, you are happy with "friendly fire"?

How about no one attacks or abuses others.

amele · 22/04/2025 18:12

Well of course they should be using male toilets. If you don’t have a vagina, you’re not really a woman, sure u can identify as one, just like I can identify as a spider. Mad

Roxietrees · 22/04/2025 18:12

lifeturnsonadime · 22/04/2025 17:38

Oh get you, lecturing me on trans identifying children.

Pre-puberty my daughter thought she might be a boy. She's autistic and impressionable and likes sport and other things that TRAs like to put girls in the 'boy' box for.

We told her we loved her and that there's nothing a girl can't do, except be a boy, because that's nonsense because humans can't change sex and guess what? Post puberty she's happy in her own skin, still fantastic, likely lesbian happy child whose not been led down a harmful misogynistic pathway that tells girls that they can be born wrong.

Edited

Thank fuck for her sake she isn’t actually trans then with a parent who clearly wouldn’t have accepted her identify (and doesn’t even know the difference between a trans man and a trans woman 🤣)

Well yes, you framed it better.
We cant frame policy around a tiny minority, be it transpeople or niche cases.

You should probably be telling this to the TRAs threatening to rape and kill women
No one on this thread has abused anyone, I think.

Oh quite. As women, we should've been far more demure in asking the menfolk would they mind terribly not stamping all over our hard won rights. I'm positively affronted that some women got a bit uppity about it.

May I suggest you resume your position, and avoid these discussions 🙂

Indianajet · 22/04/2025 13:08

This makes me sad - do we really want transwomen to have to use men's toilets, and transmen to have to use women's toilets? This will put transwomen at risk - I hate the hysteria that has arisen over this issue.

Of course they should. TW are men. Presumably they have been using the gents loos since they were children. Why should they now suddenly get to intrude on women's safe spaces?

Equally, TM are women and should use the ladies loos.

Problem solved.

Gloriia · 22/04/2025 18:15

'Mumsnet is infamous for being one of the most transphobic places on the internet. People say it ALL the time! That’s why I never usually get involved in any discussions about trans issues. It’s like a bunch of rabid dogs foaming at the mouth with rage,'

Or, Mumsnet allows women to speak. 'Rabid dogs foaming at the mouth, what a misogynistic thing to say.

We are intelligent women who have put up with this crap for years, finally the tide is turning and we don't have to sit and nod agreeing with men that they are women and yes please please do exactly as you please.

Dillydollydingdong · 22/04/2025 18:15

Yes we do

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 22/04/2025 18:15

Cornishclio · 22/04/2025 16:51

I think this is ridiculous. Are we really saying trans women have to use male toilets with urinals and trans men have to use female toilets? Are people going to be challenging women who look trans and vice versa?

TW are men and have a penis, so yes, they can use a urinal. What do you think is going to happen to TM, who are women, in women’s toilets?

Thats not how it was 40 years ago!

Well no one is happy with ‘friendly fire’ but if we were invaded as a country we wouldn’t not fight back because the chance of a few instances of friendly fire surely?

likewise, the clarified rules may mean that odd person, most likely masculine looking women, might get challenged but that is not a reason to not have a clear enforceable policy in the first place.

Cannot wait for Labour to come calling at my door for the local elections.

I want to ask him if my aunt has balls does that make her my uncle.

Well if your aunt has ball it does indeed make her your uncle. 😎

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 22/04/2025 17:50

Yes, I can confirm that that is absolutely what I do want.

And what trans people want is not more important than what I want. Is it?

Why is what you want more important than what trans people want? Shouldn’t what you both want be equally important??
