I got injured on a dog meet up

A few months ago I met up with a woman on a dog breed Facebook page - idea was that we would walk our dogs together /potentially start up a friendship. That walk went well and I thought the woman was lovely, we messaged back and forth after that and arranged to meet up again yesterday.

We met at a local forest. Both dogs have great recall so we let them off lead for a play. Everything going great until I tripped over a vine and fell to the ground. This sent her dog absolutely crazy who then began lunging at me and barking - I went to get up and the dog bounced off me and knocked me down again. I expected a bit of assistance but this woman was doubled over in stitches laughing. I asked her to grab her dog and she half heartedly called her dog who began making its way back to her, I started to get up at which point her dog turned around and came flying back towards me, my dog then got excited and went to get involved before both dogs knock into me and I go tumbling down a big hill. My arm was scratched to pieces and this woman was laughing so much she could barely talk. I shouted up at her that I’ve hurt my arm and she needs to get her dog. She recalled her dog. At this point I realised she was filming the whole thing and I also realised I had damaged my hip and was finding it difficult to stand up.

long story short, I used my dog to drag me up the hill. I cut the wall short as in lots of pain. She messaged me later and asked how I was so I said I was battered and bruised. She then said “if it makes you feel any better, you’re going viral on TikTok. I can’t believe she would do that! I’ve not even looked on TikTok as I’m far too embarrassed.

I need a well thought out message to send back - or do I just leave it??!

How fucking dare she! Perhaps you should thank her for providing evidance for when you sue her for your injuries.

Hoppinggreen · 21/04/2025 10:53

I can understand her laughing at first when you fell (while also checking you were ok) but then continuing to laugh, filming and posting it is awful behaviour.
There is something very wrong with her

Why would laugh at someone falling? I simply cannot understand this mentality. When someone falls my only thought is whether they are ok.

Poonu · 21/04/2025 13:01

Block

ThinWomansBrain · 21/04/2025 13:04

report her to the police for having an out of control dog that injured you

Coconutter24 · 21/04/2025 13:05

SilenceInside · 21/04/2025 09:30

Actually if this was a few months ago I’d just block her and move on.

Sounds like the incident was yesterday

Me neither, you've been framed used to leave me cold 😁

If this was a few months ago you won’t be a viral sensation anymore so just leave it

Sounds like this happened yesterday not a few months ago.

I’d definitely not go on a walk with her again OP. The fact some people decide to whip a phone out to record someone struggling instead of helping tells you all you need to know about a person

Anewdawnanewname · 21/04/2025 13:31

I’d have to reply that I hoped she was joking as you’re not happy with being recorded in the first place, never mind with the video being shared.

WildfirePonie · 21/04/2025 13:45

I'd have to find the video and download it. Then use it against her. Her dog was out of control and you were injured!

LondonFox · 21/04/2025 13:47

Maybe slap the dog next time so he does not get near you again?
They are animals amd normally communicate in that way.
Also, why did your own dog run into you?
Bizzarre.

This is seriously awful. If I was there, I would have helped you. Bloody jell.how are you feeling today. She's a hideous human being and I wouldn't ever see her again. Don't watch the video but try and get it banned from tiktok. I would not find it hilarious and she even brought her phone out. What a pig.

I agree. She is like one of those awful people who film car accidents for likes on social media on their mobile rather than actually using it to call for help. It's disgusting behaviour. How would she like to be treated like this? I am really sorry op. I hope you feel better soon

This is terrible OP! I’d be contacting the police to see if there was any cctv footage! And you’ve been injured as well which is horrific. I’d be contacting citizens advice or victim support, the police would automatically refer your case to victim support if you report it, especially the other dog owner laughing at you and filming it, that’s disgusting, see if they can help you draft a letter. Hope you’re feeling much better soon.

Yeah because forests are usually teaming with CCTV cameras.

I’m just entering into the spirit of it all. they could be!

Woodywoodpecker321 · 21/04/2025 14:19

Wow what a horrible person she is. Have you told her you didn't consent to being recorded and put on the Internet, and asked her to remove the video? I wouldn't see her again after that! Hope you're recovering!

Franjipanl8r · 21/04/2025 14:24

Bloody hell, tell her to delete it now! What a cow! She sounds really nasty. I love a good laugh if someone’s fallen over, but only if they’re laughing too! Laughing at someone who’s injured is really nasty.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 21/04/2025 14:24

She sounds like a nightmare.
I would have forced her to delete the video.

BusyMum47 · 21/04/2025 14:25

SilenceInside · 21/04/2025 09:30

I’d send her a message telling her how unbelievably cruel and unpleasant she has been and then block her and never engage with her again. What a vile specimen.

This! ⬆️ Hope you're OK. X

TheFormidableMrsC · 21/04/2025 14:26

What an absolute bitch. I’d ask her to remove it personally.

TheFormidableMrsC · 21/04/2025 14:26

100% it’s totally unacceptable! It should actually be against the law to post footage like this without someone’s consent.

XenoBitch · 21/04/2025 14:29

Flailing about on the floor could cause her dog to freak out. You can't explain to a dog that you are hurt and can't get up.

Your "friend" was a knob for filming it all instead of helping you, and reached peak knob when she said it would be on Tik Tok.

Block her and move on. I really don't think the cops would be interested in this.

She doesn't need cctv footage it's the middle of a forest plus the other woman filmed it!

EmeraldShamrock000 · 21/04/2025 14:35

Under the Animals Act 1971, a dog owner can be held liable if their dog causes injury, regardless of whether the dog has shown previous aggression. As such, the most important element of a compensation claim is that you've experienced a physical or psychological injury as a result of the attack.15 Jan 2025
I'd threaten her with legal action.

TourangaLeila · 21/04/2025 14:35

TheWonderhorse · 21/04/2025 12:30

That's the sort of thing that's so bizarre I might have been stifling a laugh while also trying to help. I laugh at falls, they're funny, and three falls in a row might have finished me. But I would have called my dog and helped you up, apologising for my terrible behaviour. I'd never have filmed it.

Out of curiosity, what's your IQ?

Catapultaway · 21/04/2025 09:28

I kinda want to see the tiktok to be honest 😂

You want to see the OP being hurt and not helped by the only person in the vicinity? Why?!
