I got injured on a dog meet up

A few months ago I met up with a woman on a dog breed Facebook page - idea was that we would walk our dogs together /potentially start up a friendship. That walk went well and I thought the woman was lovely, we messaged back and forth after that and arranged to meet up again yesterday.

We met at a local forest. Both dogs have great recall so we let them off lead for a play. Everything going great until I tripped over a vine and fell to the ground. This sent her dog absolutely crazy who then began lunging at me and barking - I went to get up and the dog bounced off me and knocked me down again. I expected a bit of assistance but this woman was doubled over in stitches laughing. I asked her to grab her dog and she half heartedly called her dog who began making its way back to her, I started to get up at which point her dog turned around and came flying back towards me, my dog then got excited and went to get involved before both dogs knock into me and I go tumbling down a big hill. My arm was scratched to pieces and this woman was laughing so much she could barely talk. I shouted up at her that I’ve hurt my arm and she needs to get her dog. She recalled her dog. At this point I realised she was filming the whole thing and I also realised I had damaged my hip and was finding it difficult to stand up.

long story short, I used my dog to drag me up the hill. I cut the wall short as in lots of pain. She messaged me later and asked how I was so I said I was battered and bruised. She then said “if it makes you feel any better, you’re going viral on TikTok. I can’t believe she would do that! I’ve not even looked on TikTok as I’m far too embarrassed.

I need a well thought out message to send back - or do I just leave it??!

She videoed her dog being out of control and you being injured. What an absolutely bonkers immature woman

MuggleMe · 21/04/2025 11:21

I'd be looking for the video to sue her! How dare she!!

Hdjdb42 · 21/04/2025 11:22

She is not your friend. I'd message back, asking for a copy of the video. I'd sue her because her dog was out of conttol. It caused you to fall down the hill

I agree. I’d tell her that thanks to her video you have evidence of her dog causing injury due to it being out of control off lead and you will pursue a case against her.

faerietales · 21/04/2025 11:26

I would report her for having an out of control dog. If you can find the footage, the police may well pay her a visit.

Dollshousedolly · 21/04/2025 11:28

I would message this woman and say How dare she film the incident and then post it online. You did not consent to being filmed and can she remove from TikTok immediately. Say it is clear she did not stop from her dog from growling at you and you are going to report her to the police.

Would be good if you could find the TikTok post first so you could save it and have it as ‘evidence’.

Hapagirl48 · 21/04/2025 11:30

Some people are just such arseholes. If I was with you I would have helped you immediately and it would not have even occurred to me to film it. I hope you’re feeling better. At least you didn’t invest too much time with this person before you realised she was wasn’t friend material.

Viviennemary · 21/04/2025 11:32

I would report her to the police. Sounds like you were set up for a video.

Chersfrozenface · 21/04/2025 11:37

I know I don’t “know her” as such but this seemed so far removed from the character she appeared to have.

OP, and everyone else, we should all remember that we can't necessarily trust the persona a stranger puts over on the internet.

Trendyname · 21/04/2025 11:55

BookArt55 · 21/04/2025 09:35

I would message saying how you have gotten over the shock and realised the extent of your injuries, that you are deeply upset that she filmed it and put it on tiktok. That you would like her to remove it
I'd then find it in tiktok and report it. Not sure how successful you'd be getting it down but worth a shot.
Once you hear back from her, I'd then block her.
Hope you've feeling better after a rest, feel for you.

This

Reallyyyyyy · 21/04/2025 11:58

Hope you are OK @FluffyPaw I would be blocking her and wouldn't be speaking to her again. That's really mean and nasty

TourangaLeila · 21/04/2025 12:08

There is something missing in people who find others getting hurt funny.

"no I'm not fucking alright. You had better not have posted a video of me getting hurt and then attacked by your dog on Tiktok. If I find it you will be hearing from my lawyer"

Zebedee999 · 21/04/2025 12:20

SilenceInside · 21/04/2025 09:30

I’d send her a message telling her how unbelievably cruel and unpleasant she has been and then block her and never engage with her again. What a vile specimen.

Quite.

The dogs bouncing around excited is one thing. But her filming and posting it without permission is appalling.

faerietales · 21/04/2025 12:22

I'm not for one second saying what she did was okay, but she doesn't actually need OP's permission to film her in public.

SunnieShine · 21/04/2025 12:25

Energe · 21/04/2025 09:45

If this was a few months ago you won’t be a viral sensation anymore so just leave it

I doubt it ever was. She may not even have posted it. Nasty to say she had though.

pikkumyy77 · 21/04/2025 12:28

Horrible. Just horrible. Really no excuse for it.

Bruisername · 21/04/2025 12:28

It was posted yesterday (if she did post it)

GeorgianaM · 21/04/2025 12:29

I was chatting to a young man on a narrow path at the side of a reservoir as he had dogs and my dogs were enjoying their company and we chatted about them as you do.

I stepped back and the ground gave way and I went flying backwards and was lucky I didn't enter the water. Because I was now on a sleep slope with loose earth it was difficult to get up without sliding nearer to the water and of course some of the dogs came charging down which hindered my getting up.

The young man immediately came to my rescue and got me back up to safety and for a moment we were shocked and then we laughed. We made jokes about how it would have been a great opportunity for You've been framed etc.

That's the normal reaction I would have thought.

Not to actually film it and laugh hysterically like this old witch did.

I would just block her. Hope you're ok now.

TheWonderhorse · 21/04/2025 12:30

That's the sort of thing that's so bizarre I might have been stifling a laugh while also trying to help. I laugh at falls, they're funny, and three falls in a row might have finished me. But I would have called my dog and helped you up, apologising for my terrible behaviour. I'd never have filmed it.

Mrsbloggz · 21/04/2025 12:33

I'd be on her doorstep ready to smash her face in when she opened the door.
No seriously, I'd have to keep well away from her for her own safety and to keep myself out of legal jeopardy.

B1indEye · 21/04/2025 12:37

Viviennemary · 21/04/2025 11:32

I know it's not a laughing matter but I can't help smiling at the thought of the other woman training her dog to knock people down then lurking in FB groups making contacts in the hope one of them trips on a walk all for tiktok clout 😂

You'd have to admire the effort

IstayhomeonFridaynight · 21/04/2025 12:38

She's deranged. I think blocking is the best response - nothing to gain from engaging in an exchange with her about why she was horrible to film rather than help.

CustardySergeant · 21/04/2025 12:46

Why are so many people saying it happened a few months ago when it is clear from the post that it happened yesterday?

BakelikeBertha · 21/04/2025 12:54

Most of us would say AFTER helping the person in trouble, 'Oh, I wish we'd had a camera on hand to film what happened, it must have looked hilarious'. I'm sure there are very few people who would think, 'oh what a great video this will make for Tik Tok', and proceed to film it while the person in difficulties got deeper and deeper into trouble.

It's a shame it's not illegal to have posted it without the OP's permission, as I would have loved this awful woman to have got her comeuppance, and to have had to compensate the OP for her injuries.

I think I would write to her and say something along the lines of:

I'm glad YOU found the incident amusing, but I was HURT, and the vast majority of people would have come to my rescue, and maybe laughed about it afterwards. YOU, could have stopped me getting as badly hurt as I was, but clearly you have a VERY warped sense of what it right and wrong, and putting it on Tik Tok, simply to make yourself look clever, was unkind and unnecessary. Needless to say, I never want to hear from you again!

Blink53368865 · 21/04/2025 12:55

What breed of dog does your friend have?
