Silliest place you’ve seen a dog owner take their dog

To ask where the silliest / most inappropriate place you’ve seen a dog taken by the owner

Inspired by recent posts complaining about dogs being everywhere in cafes etc

Yesterday in our local Cathedral Easter service , a dog was taken up to the altar for communion with its owners. I’ve seen it all now 😃
I was unfortunately unable to see if they attempted to snaffle a bit of bread for the dog , but it honestly wouldn’t have surprised me
Just why ?

Campsite showers, actually in the cubicle last weekend!

Bit like some children and their selfish parents then.

I saw a pug in a baby (dog) carrier in Venice a few weeks ago with all legs sticking outwards that looked ludicrous ! Ans a pomeranian in a pram ! Very funny !

My youngest dog came with us for our walks in a buggy when he was recovering from surgery. I fully intend getting a buggy for my older, very arthritic dog when walking becomes more of a struggle for him. I find it odd that people find that odd! The alternative is to leave the dogs at home when we go out for walks. That's not happening!

Not sure how it’s unhygienic tbh. It’s not like trolleys are clean and sanitary.

I have to occasionally take my dogs to the toilet, if we’re out and about. Not leaving them to be nicked!

I was in a public loo (on a seafront) recently where a dog was sitting outside a cubicle while the lady was inside holding onto the lead that was trailing under the door!

it was a lab so would probably have been a bit tight in the cubicle with her! I thought it was the cutest and cleverest option! The dog was perfectly behaved. I often stand & talk to dogs tied up outside a public loos as always worried they’re going to be stolen!

On a seesaw at the playpark. And also down the slide. This was a labrador, not a carryable sized dog. And yes, the park is no dogs.

Years ago getting out of a lift in a hotel in LA but then you can take dogs on planes strapped in on domestic flights blew my mind !

IKEA
Dogs are allowed in ikea in this country I don’t know if it’s the same in the uk. It was a Saturday it was manic and the dog looked totally freaked out. I was freaked out too it was horrible in there !
I am a massive dog lover i actually love seeing them in the pub 🤩

CheeseNPickle3 · 27/04/2025 09:40

Most inappropriate place - a firework display.

I wondered if the dog was specially trained or maybe deaf or something.

Nope. Lasted a few minutes after the fireworks started and then went absolutely nuts. Terrified, poor thing.

John Lewis and Marks and Spencer’s. It drives me mad seeing dogs in department stores that are not service dogs (I’m saying this as someone with 2 large dogs).

John Lewis market / advertise themselves as dog friendly now. They welcome all dogs not just service dogs.

UK has ~100 food poisoning case per 100,000 people per year
France has ~225
Yeah, you 'just do things differently'
