As per the title - Easter Sunday is off to a dreadful start with ā€˜D’ H and I already having had an argument.

Some background, we have individual insta’s but for any major ā€˜announcements/events’ as such we will use the collaboration feature so the post appears on both our grids. Think engagement, wedding, pregnancy-gender reveal/birth, anniversary etc.

It’s our DD’s first Easter so I’ve got her a brilliant outfit, some props and of course eggs. I’ve also got a personalised sort of sign which says it’s her first Easter.

I said to H I’ll get the photos done after breakfast and we can joint post. He says it’s stupid to do this and doesn’t warrant all the effort as it’s ’only Easter’ so he won’t be putting it on his grid.

AIBU to feel pissed off with him? It will look strange if it’s only on my page.

This is not Gen X behaviour, @Sailead !

Sorry I meant Z! I’m X 🤣

Ilovemyshed · 20/04/2025 08:24

Apart from the ridiculous notion that anyone is interested in your ā€œgramā€, have you considered the ramifications of plastering your child’s image all over social media and potential misuse.

Shockingly irresponsible parenting.

Bonsaibaby · 20/04/2025 08:24

Well I suppose us Gen X did parent the Gen z generation so maybe that’s what she means? 🤣 blame the parents!

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/04/2025 08:24

I am going to assume you are either joking/trolling, or actually batshit, or maybe both. How about you get off Insta, and MN come to that, and have a nice Easter with your DH and child..

SilverButton · 20/04/2025 08:25

Oh OP. Was this really worth an argument?

@Sailead I'm Gen X and my DC are teenagers!

Hercisback1 · 20/04/2025 08:25

With it being her first Easter I bet you're sleep deprived and it's making you react less rationally than normal. Take a step back and be thankful for all that you have. Apologise to your DH, laugh about it and enjoy your day.

MoistVonL · 20/04/2025 08:25

Sailead · 20/04/2025 08:17

I think you’re being ridiculous but I guess this is what happens when Gen X become parents.

Hell no! The youngest Gen X are 45, our kids are not having their first Easter and we DEFINITELY aren’t arsing about with this bollocks.

@Whatslovegottodo25 , it’s lovely that you’re excited for your baby’s first Easter. Every ā€˜first’ is an occasion if you want it to be. Enjoy it, it goes by in a flash.

But no one, no one on Earth, gives a stuff whether you post photos from one account or another. I promise you.

PowderPants · 20/04/2025 08:25

Either this is:
a. A joke
b. You are totally hallow
c. You need something to worry about

CaptainCavey · 20/04/2025 08:25

I expect he’s embarrassed. Unless you’re Stacey Solomon or someone who needs to do this for their job, there’s really nothing to complain about here. He is being perfectly reasonable.

Is this another one by the same poster who’s boyfriend didn’t put happy Mother’s Day post on?

Yeah, you’d think it’d be getting old by now but they persist on the same theme…

Snarf23 · 20/04/2025 08:25

My other half isn’t even on instagram. I use it as a memory board almost of quick snap shots when out and about. Nothing curated or insta perfect.

I get a quick photo/story of first easter, but planned with props and outfits and then collaborated with each other, well it’s all a bit much isn’t it. It’s all about the likes. No one really cares. They’ll like the photo and give it no more thought. Is it really worth the arguing??

@Sailead gen x are now getting old and looking forward to grand parenting. I blame the boomers ;)

Edited

Don't be daft. We are all on our last legs and too demented to work out how to use a phone, let alone take photos. And we are simultaneously always on holiday, spaffing the kid's inheritance up the wall.

Well, according to MN that is.

Don’t call on us - we’re there kids of the 70’s and 80’s who’s parents needed a public ad campaign to remember to call us in at night.

You’re thinking of a different generation

CanYouTurnItDown · 20/04/2025 08:26

You didn’t give home time to draft something and get it pre approved probably

I think @MereNoelle has nailed it.

Simbaonedaythiswillallbeyours · 20/04/2025 08:26

You sound like my SIL. Missing actual moments as she is too busy taking a million photos and throwing wobblies over things not being insta perfect.

Easter props for your child? Grow up.

Think they mean Gen Z.
Us Gen Xers are in our 50s and couldn't give a toss about synching posts on instagram or whatever this is šŸ™„

AccountCreateUsername · 20/04/2025 08:27

OP you are unreasonable for punishing your husband for not engaging in what he views as nonsense. If you carry on spoiling the weekend because of this then you’re very much in the wrong. If this is a joke, you are brilliant!

Performative Eastering!
This takes the biscuit (sorry, easter egg)
You're dressing up your child and surrounding it by naff props to take a few insta photo's?
If I were your DH I'd be calling social services!

Gen xers are in their 50's now. Doubt OP is Gen X with a 1 year old. Plus Gen X would definitely not be posting shit like this anywhere.

Frauhubert · 20/04/2025 08:28

This isn’t real but if it is, you and your poor husband are being mocked to death behind your backs for your joint staged posts to ā€˜your gridsā€™šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ„²
