As per the title - Easter Sunday is off to a dreadful start with ā€˜D’ H and I already having had an argument.

Some background, we have individual insta’s but for any major ā€˜announcements/events’ as such we will use the collaboration feature so the post appears on both our grids. Think engagement, wedding, pregnancy-gender reveal/birth, anniversary etc.

It’s our DD’s first Easter so I’ve got her a brilliant outfit, some props and of course eggs. I’ve also got a personalised sort of sign which says it’s her first Easter.

I said to H I’ll get the photos done after breakfast and we can joint post. He says it’s stupid to do this and doesn’t warrant all the effort as it’s ’only Easter’ so he won’t be putting it on his grid.

AIBU to feel pissed off with him? It will look strange if it’s only on my page.

I think you’re being ridiculous but I guess this is what happens when Gen X become parents.

Wrong gen

Do you understand what responders are trying to get at here op?

You are more bothered about what your life ā€˜looks’ like to others, than what it is ā€˜actually’ like.

You’d have an argument with The person you’re supposed to be in love with (who knows? Or just show?) so that people who you should care about far far less think you’re happy.

Herewegoagain84 · 20/04/2025 12:56

I call a wind up - nice one OP. If it’s not… my god is this what the world is coming to?!!??? Fucking hell!

I can confirm I didn’t start the previous threads (nor am I aware of them). But given the general thoughtlessness of some men, I’m not surprised I’m the only one who has had challenges šŸ˜‚

Ah, it’s you again.

QuestionableMouse · 20/04/2025 12:59

Christ.

There are more important things to worry about.

She’s not gen X. More like millennial/ gen z

JustSawJohnny · 20/04/2025 13:01

It all sounds a bit immature and show-offy and it's a truly ridiculous thing to have an argument about.

I can't even with the 'Easter props' šŸ™„

Also think it's embarrassing to be all 'he's come to his senses!' and to seek out the one comment that agrees with you for thanks.

If that's what you want, why ask people for opinions at all?

You mean Gen Z. The Gen X embarrassing parenting equivalent is dressing your baby in a Ramones T shirt.

Pink floyd or queen.

There’s no need to get into a flap about your husband not wanting to announce baby’s first dentist appointment or whatever non-event you want him to share with the world. Literally nobody cares, sorry. You’ve worn your husband down until he relents. This is the type of nonsense that accumulates and causes problems in relationships- he doesn’t want to do it and he’s given in for an easy life. He will only tolerate having no autonomy for so long.

Itchybritches · 20/04/2025 13:06

No one is this vacuous in real life……hopefully.

Heidi2018 · 20/04/2025 13:08

Anyone else not give a shite whether the poster is Gen X, Y, Z 🄱

Ariel896 · 20/04/2025 13:09

Please can we see the props and outfits?! it really sounds like you get the true meaning of Easter. We should all take a leaf out of your batshit book

chipsewfast · 20/04/2025 13:10

FGS Are you even for real?

SparklyGlitterballs · 20/04/2025 13:12

Fuck sake, it's all about the Insta and the likes these days.

thesoundofwildgeese · 20/04/2025 13:15

If this is real, then Bravo! to your husband.

Easter will mean absolutely nothing to a baby.

MakeYourOwnMusicStartYourOwnDance · 20/04/2025 13:18

Are you the ridiculous Insta birthday drama queen from a few weeks back?!

It’s really…not. What an odd thing to say. We’re not all obsessed with insta-perfect lives šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Rhinohides · 20/04/2025 13:20

Well, if your argument was about it being ONLY Easter I would have some sympathy. But as it seems the season means little more than an opportunity to show case your child in an outfit I am struggling to be honest. Sounds like a private marital spat rather than a celebration and commendation of a life changing historic event which effects the lives of billions today

Poonu · 20/04/2025 13:21

Whatslovegottodo25 · 20/04/2025 10:11

Thanks hun, all resolved now luckily x

You sound controlling.
Imagine this post was a husband telling his wife she had to.
