To let you know that Ocado think women’s rights are “hateful political views”?

Have a look at MNHQ’s post on this thread: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5316215-thank-you-mnhq?reply=143605436&utm_campaign=reply&utm_medium=share

“When we included a call to clarify the definition of sex in the Equality Act in our 2024 Mumsnet Manifesto, Ocado – who had been excited about a partnership – abruptly pulled out, citing Mumsnet’s “hateful political views”. Despite repeated attempts to explain our position – as a platform committed to amplifying women’s voices – they’ve refused to speak to us ever since.”

I was about to start shopping with them for occasional “stocking up” deliveries but they won’t be getting a penny of my money if this is their view of women’s rights. Obviously not everyone feels as I do but I should imagine women make up the majority of their customers. I won’t support a business that thinks women’s rights - or even just women being given a space in which to speak and discuss - is “hateful”.

So fuck off, Ocado, and you can take your hateful political views with you.

I don't post much on here anymore but just wanted to take a moment today to thank Mumsnet {mention:MNHQ} and Justine in particular for standing strong...

So they are continuing with the lies?

Awesome, they really think you/us are that dumb 🙄

The audit will be a scream and uber expensive if they actually allowed random temps full unsupervised control of a key business relationships.

Who knows how may contracts have been signed or broken in each busniess area if they have the average staff turnover and hire in temps.

EasterParadeHats · 20/04/2025 17:11

I really dislike that cheery not our views, contractors,ok any more questions, tally ho, have a great weekend

There is absolutely no sense of the seriousness here; the gravitas of what they have done

afig · 20/04/2025 17:20

Why do so many businesses feel they need to publicise opinions on issues that have nothing to do with the goods and services they render? Surely it's a fool's game to potentially alienate a large portion of your customer base. I prefer businesses that keep things neutral. If you have a statement to make, make it as a private citizen, on your own time, rather than bringing it into the workplace!

EasterParadeHats · 20/04/2025 22:15

How are people contacting ocado? Is there an email address

EasterParadeHats · 20/04/2025 22:18

@ImConfusedDotComHelp

I know this already of course but I listened to a Vanessa feltz LBC program on women feeling and being vulnerable. She said has any female ever walked home carefree at night without worrying a man will attack etc.

I'm horrified watching footage of that protest and the violence raging against women there.
Many men agree with women on this and yet all the rage and vitriol is to women.

Zoldevort · 20/04/2025 22:47

That’s put me right off Ocado!

Wishitsnows · 20/04/2025 23:02

I use Ocado all the time. Not sure how I had missed this. Won’t be using them again

MrsJamin · 20/04/2025 23:10

I ordered ocado deliveries every 7-10 days from 2008 to 2022,i kid you not. Once I heard about their stance I never ordered again. I hope someone from ocado is reading this. Also, ocado are overpriced and morrisons use exactly the same vans and warehouses plus are cheaper! Go to hell, Ocado

Zoldevort · 20/04/2025 23:15

Yes, I won’t be using them ever again. How bloody dare they?

I think you'll find that most people don't care about a company's values. Look at Primark, there are concerns about labor conditions in its supply chain, alleged design theft, its impact on small businesses, and claims og human rights abuses, people still flock there knowing this.

In fairness, a lot of that goes for many retail firms. Opposing women's sex-based rights and calling them hateful, however, rather takes the biscuit; that's saying 51% of the world's population are not worthy of protection from harm, abuse etc. because those protections depend on knowing what a woman is (now we know - as if we didn't!).

Absolutely fuck off Ocado and take your feeble excuse of “it wasn’t really us it was this office junior because we are really nice” with you.
i wonder how many other companies pulled stunts like this while desperately trying to cosy up to the trans ideologues trying to cancel anyone who had a different view to theirs which was that the definition of women is includes men

Exactly! My DH is an ex rugby prop and built like the proverbial brick shit house. I still remember when he casually mentioned that he'd never once felt physically threatened, not once. And I just thought what an utter luxury and privilege that is.

Zoldevort · 23/04/2025 03:17

Yes, my now late DH was also in the shit house department. In his entire life he never felt threatened by anyone. He was so confident and care free.

Yes, that’s a luxury no woman will ever have.

I see Keir has changed his stance on what makes a woman a woman. Quite right too.

AnSolas · 23/04/2025 07:40

He had to.

Its been the better part of a week and its still making headlined.

The BBC news is "helpfully" playing clips of his hysterical historical position too

www.bbc.com/news/articles/crldey0z00ro.amp

Women and Equalities select committee chair, Labour's Sarah Owen, said the judges made their decision "without a single contribution from trans people" and won a commitment from Phillipson that trans "stakeholders" would be involved in the creation of upcoming guidance.

And there always has to be one politician who opts to provide the Village Idiot quote but why why why is it always the one who should understand the basic role the legal system has in
• protecting any type of right?
• interacting with the role the politicians got voted in to and paid to do?

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer outside 10 Downing Street in London, Britain, on 22 April 2025.

Keir Starmer does not believe trans women are women, No 10 says - BBC News

The UK Supreme Court has ruled that the legal definition of a woman should be based on biological sex.

ummm. No.10 says he has, I haven't seen or heard anything which has HIM saying it. He's hiding so he can deny it in the future. Which is what weasels do.

No.10 is the equivalent of temporary contractor.
