It’s a new relationship. My son is 21 and the new partner is 18

He barely works and is consequently on a low salary however he does help me with childcare (that I pay a minimal amount for)

the new partner is a very petite pink haired “girl” that does ballet and dance but uses the pronoun he/him

my 11 year old daughter is finding it confusing and asked if her brother is gay. I replied with “no because the partner is very feminine and is a girl despite the pronouns” (I couldn’t care less if he was gay, sexuality isn’t important)

So am I being unreasonable in saying the partner doesn’t come over as it’s just too weird and I don’t want that example being set for my daughter

Interesting. In my observations, even the ones with ALL the surgery and drugs don’t fully complete the deception so I’m not sure where these mythical persons are.
They even had to use a female actress to play the trans role in a popular soap in order to make it convincing..

Trans women are women as much as sex dolls are women - just because they are engineered/ altered to appear perfectly pretty and stunning, doesn’t mean they are women.
In fact you can often tell a trans woman apart from a woman by how sexualised his appearance is. No man wants to ‘transition’ to wear joggers and a messy mum bum, do they.
Too much make up, big hair and revealing clothes is now the drag look - not what an average woman looks like (or wants to).

Apparently that wasn’t to make it more convincing, it was deliberate so that viewers were more likely to warm to the character. The plotline in which the character helped a 13 year old girl shop for a bra was also deliberate. And I believe written (or at least under the consultation of a trans identified male). The whole point was to make the character seem warm and harmless to curry public acceptance.

I was simply asking how she would determine someone is “born male”- it sounds like for you it’s whether a “doctor” has “determined” it? Is that right?

The point is that a lot of the time people don't challenge the ones that don't pass, perhaps leading those people to think that they do pass.
