Before I start, the daily mail and other papers can all fuck off

I’m prepared to be flamed for this as I’ve been here long enough to know how it all works but….

aibu to tell my son he can’t have his partner over any more

It’s a new relationship. My son is 21 and the new partner is 18

He barely works and is consequently on a low salary however he does help me with childcare (that I pay a minimal amount for)

the new partner is a very petite pink haired “girl” that does ballet and dance but uses the pronoun he/him

my 11 year old daughter is finding it confusing and asked if her brother is gay. I replied with “no because the partner is very feminine and is a girl despite the pronouns” (I couldn’t care less if he was gay, sexuality isn’t important)

So am I being unreasonable in saying the partner doesn’t come over as it’s just too weird and I don’t want that example being set for my daughter

Pass = deceive.

Why should any man who wants to deceive women and girls into thinking he’s something he’s not be welcomed into female spaces? Whether he succeeds or not, deceit is the aim.

No trans people are not deceptive just by fact of being trans (and not walking about with a sign announcing it).

Megifer · 11/04/2025 18:51

"Regards the anti-trans backlash (which would explain a recent poll that was just posted on here), the high profile cases of men gaming the system (the Scottish rapist bloke Isla Bryson the worst culprit), plus the issue of natural born males in womens sports, those two things have coincided which has led to a downturn in attitudes towards the trans community."

Isn't that transphobic? How do you know Isla is playing the system? And if a natural born man identifies as a women don't they have the right to play in women's sports?

Ah the joy of performative pronouns….

I wouldn’t say she can’t visit but I would make clear that yours is a household rooted in biological reality and linguistic accuracy.

If that means she feels it’s not a “safe space” for her then they might want to meet elsewhere.

This! 👏👏

Regardless of how well anyone 'passes', everyone knows what sex they are. People need to start doing the decent thing and use the services meant for their sex.

Regardless of how well anyone 'passes', everyone knows what sex they are.

what a strange thing to say . What does pads mean to you?

Of course they are. That’s the whole point. Trans is deception. Because humans can’t change sex. So all that can be done is attempt to deceive others into thinking they’re the opposite sex.

BelfastBard · 11/04/2025 18:53

ChessorBuckaroo · 11/04/2025 18:47

According to folk on MN it is obvious who was born a woman and who wasn't.

Complete nonsense.

There are many transwomen who pass as natural born women, and the staunchest of GC devotees wouldn't have a scooby do.

The transwomen I know are stunning women.

Regards the anti-trans backlash (which would explain a recent poll that was just posted on here), the high profile cases of men gaming the system (the Scottish rapist bloke Isla Bryson the worst culprit), plus the issue of natural born males in womens sports, those two things have coincided which has led to a downturn in attitudes towards the trans community. No doubt once those issues are addressed things will return to where they were.

An attractive trans woman is still a man… just an attractive one…

No being trans is not a form of deception

What's strange about expecting people to act with integrity, truth and respect for others?

Infiltrating women's spaces when you know you're a man is a form of deception.

Agree with this, no ones deceived.....

What’s it is then? I asked you upthread what trans is, you must have missed it, so perhaps you could explain now.

Sodthesystem · 11/04/2025 19:00

She sounds batshit so no I wouldn't have her wound my daughter either. Son needs to move out anyway.

Again- you refuse to understand or accept what it is to be a trans woman. That is on you.

Megifer · 11/04/2025 18:56

That's correct, as its not their intention to.

The only time deception would occur if is a transwoman does not disclose her sex at birth before getting intimate with a man. Unfortunately there have been some cases where it has ended badly, so these women have to be upfront about their identity when things go beyond merely chatting with someone.

What definition are you using?

The “anti trans backlash” is the result of seeing years of what this ideology has done to women’s rights and children.
Very few people support children being medicalised and the risks that poses.
Even less support men having unfettered access to women’s single sex spaces or sports.
For all the cries of being “inclusive” they fail to overlook the large percentage of women who will have to self exclude when spaces are no longer single sex for religious or cultural reasons. Why is it more important that a man, pretending to be a woman, has access to that space than an actual woman who now cannot use it because he is there?

This has been explained ad nauseam on any number of threads. If you don’t already know the answer to this, it’s because you refuse to accept it , and nothing I can say is going to change that.

Exactly. In order to be genuinely inclusive of women, it will sometimes be necessary to be exclusive of men.

Being inclusive doesn't men giving access to every single person who wants it.

I've literally never heard a clear definition from you, so I'm not sure where the 'again' is coming from.

Transwomen are biological
men. If you want us to consider some other definition, you'll have to make the case for it.
