What would you HONESTLY do in this situation?

Say you ordered a few items from a big online shop (clothing), then successfully cancelled the order, and was refunded.

A few days later, you ordered a single item of clothing from the same place. Today that item was delivered, however they had also sent the items you had cancelled and was refunded for (probably around £120 worth of stuff).

Would you contact them about it or would you keep quiet, see if they emailed you about it and if you didn’t hear anything say 3-4 weeks down the line, just keep the items as normal? This is a place you regularly order from, spending between £300-400 a month.

What would you HONESTLY do?

This did happen to me and I was honest. I was tempted not to be but in the end I had to be. And they let me have them free!

Honesty the best & only policy.

If you can afford to spend £400 on clothes every month then you can afford to be honest and tell them the mistake surely.

I bet this was Next. They have form…

I'd honestly send them back, I accidentally left an item under the buggy in waitrose paid for everything in my hands but forgot I'd put something under the buggy and so popped back and paid for it.

But I wouldn't blame you if you kept the items ether as you successfully got a refund etc they sent them in error. Just boils down to your own personal conscious.

So a little update - if anyone cares 😂 - I emailed them about the error. They arranged for Royal Mail to collect the parcel and Royal Mail never turned up (after I waited in all morning!). Surely the items are fair game now? 🤷‍♀️😂

Has happened to me also. When I contacted them and asked them to arrange a collection they let me keep the items. Seemed they didn’t want the hassle of arranging a courier. This has happened several times with several different brands.

Best to be honest and you never know, you may get a bonus reward 😂🥳

@Friends1996 I’d just wait for them to contact you at this point. Balls firmly in their court

Edited

I’d give it one week after they were supposed to collect. After that, fair game to use. You gave them ample opportunity to collect.

I wouldn't have waited in all day for royal mail, to let a company recoup money from their own mistake! If they ever contact you again simply say you waited hours for them to be collected and they never were, so thanks for the clothes, as you offered them the opportunity to take them back and they didn't. It's really not your responsibility to fix their mistakes.
