I am not sure how Mumsnet choose which advertisements to display, or whether they are targeted in any way.
I am at a loss to see why this one was chosen for me.
I accept that these are toys/ models but seriously a cock wrapped in bacon?
I am not a prude, vegan, and nor do I have any religious beliefs regarding pork, but I would have thought there was a reasonable chance that a fair few people would be offended by this. Just why?

In theory the answer should be that the ads depend on your searches, because of the blue triangle in the top right corner above the E.

In practice, a lot of the ads for Mumsnet have the same symbol so I’m not sure it works that way any more - and I’ve asked about this several times in Site Stuff but not had an answer.

I think the ads are targeted, because I'm seeing a lot of bathroom ads having recently been googling for showers, radiators etc.

But that's an Etsy ad (I got it too, yesterday) so it probably just means you like unique and personalised gifts.
