I am not sure how Mumsnet choose which advertisements to display, or whether they are targeted in any way.
I am at a loss to see why this one was chosen for me.
I accept that these are toys/ models but seriously a cock wrapped in bacon?
I am not a prude, vegan, and nor do I have any religious beliefs regarding pork, but I would have thought there was a reasonable chance that a fair few people would be offended by this. Just why?

Most of Etsy is now shit Temu/shein/wish stuff. And I think they put weird shit on the ads because it makes people click it to see wtf it is.

I originally thought that ad was for Temu to be honest as it's similar to the ones I see on Facebook when scrolling.

No but have you searched or visited /recently bought handmade goods, craft supplies or anything like online? Or has someone in your household done so?

I'm also not convinced all the ads are personally targeted, I've seen lots of people on threads when other weird ads started appearing be told by some people it's a reflector of what they search but then others have said if you're always declining cookies and tracking on websites then you get the weird shit instead of personalised ads.

I don't know how true that is but it makes sense for me, I don't accept cookies and get some fucked up ads at times.

I like that the etsy strapline is 'save on Mum's favourites', made me chortle. All I'm getting in my feed are bunion shoes! I'm assuming it's because I've been stalking the Birkenstock sales.

Joking aside, I can see there's skill that's gone into making it and but that looks so angry and infected and wouldn't help me get to my happy creative state of mind when crocheting and if I was given that as a gift I'd probably end up researching how to get rid of pottery warts.
