Anyone watched the Gabby Petito documentary

So disclaimer first… I have only watched the first episode. Not worried about spoilers because obviously we all know how the story ends. The story is told from the perspective of people in Gabbys life, her friends and her family.

Whilst it is evident given what happened that Brian is guilty of what he did. Did anyone notice how often Gabby clicked her tongue or rolled her eyes at him in annoyance.

I have no idea about your posts OP. You watch ONE episode of a tragic story and immediately start a thread and your very first post (which always sets the tone of a thread) was to say whilst it's obvious he murdered her, did anyone notice how much she clicked her tongue or rolled her eyes at him.

Anyone who has half a brain cell would understand that you mean that she was somewhat to blame for him strangling her. There is nothing else to be deduced from your very first post.

You then move on to her poor parents and ask us what we think about them getting paid and profiting from their dead daughter. They are in the firing line now. AFAIC They can do what they want, they have lost a much loved daughter by the most horrific means, so I don't care if they were paid for an interview or not. Nor should you.

You have an agenda here. I would like to post my theories but my post would probably be deleted. Needless to say, your posts are unpleasant.

And I’ve confessed to you. What more do you want? A vile of blood?

What I'd like you to do is admit you were victim blaming and reflect on your attitude to victims of domestic violence.

Megifer · 17/03/2025 13:37

I wish people would stop using words that they clearly don't know what they mean.

Nuance does not mean "use faux wide-eyed innocence to pretend not to ask a question, while also asking it"

The word you're looking for there is "arseholery".

Why are you personally attacking everyone, I have been perfectly polite to you. You don't need to alienate yourself from everyone posting. You are entitled to your view but so am I.

If you were doing it on purpose to wind people fair enough, it wasnt obvious.

You’ve jumped on here a bit late. Please excuse me.

@Megifer @Maitri108
honestly.
I apologise for being a misogynist who believes that women who click their tongues deserve to die at the hands of their boyfriends.

you have all shown me the error in my ways and I promise to take heed of all your comments and will do my best to rectify my wicked ways.

what more would make you just stop?

I was reading this since you posted it.

Anyway think this thread should go now, its just a bun fight now and all reasonable discussion seems to have gone.

Tbf op, assuming youre being genuine, not many people would admit they've got something wrong on MN so I respect you for that. (Though appreciate you won't give a shiny shit whether a stranger respects you changing your view!)

Wow 😮 have people on this thread who say this guy was somehow victimised seen the Chris Watts documentary? Very similar vibe. Was he also somehow victimised? 🤦‍♀️

I'll accept that as I'm sure all those who've lost loved ones to deranged men will.

Also ‘infer’ means to deduce or conclude something based on evidence - I think what a lot of ppl on here mean is ‘imply’.

Yeah there are people who say similar about Shanann Watts.

Not really. I was too busy following the narrative about how he murdered her and his ever-loving parents tried to help him get away with it.

Me neither. All I noticed was a sweet, pretty young woman whose life was snuffed out by a vile cunt.

Exactly. I've reported a lot of posts on this thread. I don't think it's in the spirit of the site, to laugh about discussing the murder of Gabby.

knephew · 18/03/2025 18:55

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an op so beautifully exposed and shamed as on this post. Well done

Indeed, thats a bit of an unreasonable pet peeve I have, people mixing up infer v imply 😖
