Headteacher attacked teacher with a spanner in front of students

This was at my child's school. I am so shocked that a headteacher would do this in front of students

It's news, I don't see the issue.

I would be really shocked by this and like to chat it through as well. There are no winners in this. Was it out of the blue in the sense of being a gentle person to this point? I hope the head injuries resolve, head injuries can be so hard to overcome.

It's an absolutely shocking pre-meditated crime! He armed himself and sent an email apologising to colleagues in advance, then carried out an attempted murder in front of witnesses. I feel so sorry for his wife and children (and his victim naturally). I'm sure it will take all who witnessed it a long time to get over it too.

Why do people make ridiculous comments like this. Give yourself a day off. Ffs.

OP I am so sorry your kids have had to live through that. No children should be subjected to that - especially in person right in front of them.

There are some really worrying things here. Presumably this head has some kind of mental health issues or breakdown ? It is really concerning that he just brought the spanner into the school. It could have been something much worse. What safeguards does the school have in place?

Hope all the kids are ok. What an awful thing to see. Must have been terrifying for them.

Even if she did date either or both of them, that can't make her lose her job!

Presumably talking about it might help her. Common reason for people to want to talk about traumatic events that have happened in their vicinity. Unless you were just trying to shame her, in which case sorry for interrupting you, I guess. In which case, how does your post help anyone?

FFS. Do you say things like that in real life? As someone’s talking about something horrible that’s happened, you pick up on a really small part of their grammar and shame them about it? I bet everyone rushes to ask you for your advice and sympathy. Or do you just do it on here?

@3tumsnot1 why presume the head had a breakdown of mental health problems? History all the way up to today is full of men committing acts of violence on or about women particularly where they feel snubbed etc.

This story is horrendous (ignore the first few posters ffs) and I can’t believe it’s not bigger news.

I’m a teacher and somehow the fact he did it in front of students is just horrifying. Sounds like he meant to kill him too.
