Is currently getting her arse handed to her by Judge Rinder on Good Morning Britain...

She is not coming across well.

Last time I looked, her life coaching business was still up on the internet.

Maybe she should take the 'f' out of life.

zanahoria · 07/03/2025 11:46

I have noticed that nearly every charity shop I go into has a couple of Captain Tom books. They must have shifted plenty during all the hype, mostly for Christmas presents and whatever. I wonder how many got read?

I can't find a clip anywhere does anyone have it?

Just watched that. I love his summing up at the end where he lists her lies.

Hey- don't speak ill of the dead.

Unless you can back this up with facts, it's not fair.

why are you telling people not to speak ill of the dead?
Everyone dies; it does not make you immunt o criticism.
The evidence you want is the very public way he went along with the family scam

CTM and Philip Schofield's are dead certs to be seen on every charity shop bookshelf near me in the last couple of years.

The real Tom Moore was a travelling salesman and a businessman for most of his life. Like many of his generation, he had served in World War II and was decommissioned from the army in 1946 at the age of twenty-six.

'Captain Tom' was very much the creation of his daughter.

'Sir Tom Moore' was the construct of an extremely gullible British public.

Fluffylizard1 · 07/03/2025 12:01

Everything about this woman annoys me so much.

Maybe I'm being too lenient but I just think the whole thing went to their heads and they got greedy. She seems to be oblivious that her dad being famous was only ever going to be a short-lived phase; this idea that there was demand for a 'Captain Tom Experience' tourist attraction years later, and that the whole country was deep in mourning for her dad was insane. All that combined with clearly having no knowledge whatsoever of what is involved in running a charity or charity rules was a recipe for disaster.

And as someone who's dad passed away at a relatively young age, this book on her grief just seems ridiculous. She's a middle aged woman who's dad died when he was 100-odd years old!

NebulousDogBollocking · 07/03/2025 12:01

Hey- don't speak ill of the dead.

Why should we not speak truthfully of someone's behaviour after they have died? What about the person or people who were affected by that behaviour, do they not count? Death does not wipe out hurt and harm.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 07/03/2025 12:02

Will we ever have the sense to stop putting human beings on pedestals? It's our own stupid fault when they fall off.

krustykittens · 07/03/2025 12:03

I hadn't seen a copy of the book so I was very surprised to see the foreword on that clip, where Captain Tom claimed he was delighted to write the book and raise more money for charity. As RR pointed out, that gave the impression money from the book was going to charity. She can argue semantics all she likes, herself and her father lied for personal gain. She insists he was perfectly lucid, so he knew what he was doing as well. Love the way RR destroys her with evidence. She thinks if she has an aswer to every question, no matter how ludicrous, it will be believed.

SofaSpuds · 07/03/2025 08:56

I hope no one buys her book, she's shameless.

I think the people of Britain lost their minds with all that Captain Tom bullshit. He walked up and down his garden a bit and got millions? What the fuck was going on there? What went wrong with the entire country? Nutters. And all that Paddington Bear nonsense when the Queen died. I bet she'd have hated that. She'd have put a fucking stop to it if she could. She thought she was God's chosen ruler and then gets a load of bears and Holly and Philip getting a national bollocking for skipping the queue on her way out. She'd have been mortified by all that carry-on. I realise the two aren't connected, but honestly, what a load of dopes the British are. I can't relate to my own people at all.

BustingBaoBun · 07/03/2025 12:10

I remember posting on here in a mildly critical way about the incessant coverage of Tom and daughter when it was all going on. I said perhaps BBC could do some other stories of people who were doing so much for the NHS, not just him.
I got my arse handed to me on a plate for daring to question CaptTom!
I bet those posters feel stupid now. Probably not, they'll just rewrite what they said

PrincessScarlett · 07/03/2025 12:10

Rob Rinder was absolutely brilliant. Hannah lied and lied and he totally called her out on it with evidence. She said there is "their truth" and the lies in the press. She was in complete denial that she's done anything wrong.

She threw her dad under the bus saying that he wanted the £1.5 million from the book deal to go to the family. She signed the book deal on her dad's behalf after continuously denying signing the book deal until Rob produced the evidence she did.

There is even a page in Captain Tom's book where he is quoted saying the money will all go to charity. It's a complete lie and Hannah said he knew the money was going to family. So Captain Tom was fully aware that his daughter was making a shit load of money and was happy to lie as well.

She would not answer where all the money actually went.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was all planned from the very beginning as it was her idea for Captain Tom to walk around his garden and get sponsorship for it.

Absolutely shameless despicable woman who has completely conned everyone that bought into the Captain Tom sham during COVID.

It's a saying- because they can't reply.

Unless you can post evidence of the 'scam' where he was complicit, you aren't actually saying anything.

I agree, he was shameless as well.

Why do people think he was as much of a ‘grifter’?

You're right, they will. They're the same posters who clapped liked demented seals for months on end.

It's terrifying actually, how easily led so many adults are and how happy they are to be swept along into nonsense. Also, how aggressive they are with anybody who won't follow. I think this is why cults must be so successful, pure brainwashing.

Edited

he was all over the national news being filmed being complicit!!

yep, I won't hear a bad word about Hitler or Pol Pot.

No comparison. The evidence of those people is clear.

I'm asking for evidence that Cpt Tom was complicit (not just his daughter and SIL) and the poster can't seem to find any.

I felt so sorry for him when they dragged him on a plane to Barbados or somewhere on a freebie. And I’m pretty sure it was mid Covid time too. You just wouldn’t.

December 2020, utterly absurd decision to go (I think BA gifted it to them?).

And sadly he passed away in February 2021, only 6 weeks after he returned.

You doubt that he was filmed and all over the news?
Really?
I mean fair play to you for disengaging with the news,it's a decision I made myself during covid but even I couldn't avoid seeing him

Maggiethecat · 07/03/2025 12:25

Absolutely no shame
