Is currently getting her arse handed to her by Judge Rinder on Good Morning Britain...

She is not coming across well.

I've had to turn off. Uncomfortable viewing!

I think she's had some surgery since the Captain Tom stuff - nose looks different and cheeks look smoother. It was obvious when they showed her alongside footage from 2020.

Can you show examples? She doesn’t look any different to me.

TizerorFizz · 07/03/2025 15:02

@Skandar It was the yard of her house he walked around. One suspects it was her idea. I found it bizarre what people cling onto. The money initially raised did go to charity as intended. The issue was the book and a subsequent charity. She would have been far better advised to go away quietly. Instead she's prepared to face down Rinder. In the end some people just end up believing their own B-S: sadly.

TizerorFizz · 07/03/2025 15:09

Yours for £2 million. Apologies if I'm wring!

@TizerorFizz No spa unfortunately. Otherwise I'd snap it up.

TizerorFizz · 07/03/2025 15:13

@AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta Ha!! All gone! That's another example of chancing it.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 07/03/2025 15:15

@TizerorFizz It's what he would have wanted apparently 🤔.

Rob Rinder is barely containing his contempt for her.

On one hand I do feel a bit sorry for her, her reputation is in tatters and she looks very meek and uncomfortable. But she obviously is a dodgy character.

She’s a fucking grifter with a capital G.
She should feel shame, she has caused many people to mistrust charities like hers.
Awful behaviour.

oakleaffy · 07/03/2025 15:56

What a load of tosh! Now selling a self published book.
If people would like to read a book about grief of older parents and others, Virginia Ironside’s wonderful “ You’ll get over it” ( title is sarcasm) is well reviewed.

CurlewKate · 07/03/2025 16:08

What have people got against Rob Rinder? Seems a decent enough chap to me.....

Poppymeldrum · 07/03/2025 16:08

I've just watched the interview

What makes her an expert on grief?
She lost her father (I'm genuinely very sorry about that) but everyone has lost someone in life-what makes her the expert and her loss is greater than anyone else's?

I will guarantee nobody stopped her to chat about grief the way she claims half the country did

I know her type of personality well-give this type a chink, and greed takes over
They cannot help themselves and will never see they are in the wrong

I firmly believe one,if not both her parents where like this and she takes after them-somebody influenced her,it might not have been her father (might not have been her mother, but somebody did)

It's interesting that the other sister has backed right off and has never taken part in any of this

Bloody grifter-she needs to walk away with her tail between her legs but she won't as she will genuinely never see that she's done anything wrong, even though the whole country is telling her she is

Grifters gonna grift, but good on Rob rinder for really taking her apart

You could see her brain trying to keep ip with the lies she's peddled and was trying to remember what she'd said

It would be interesting to get her on that programme 'faking it;tears of a crime' (won't happen as her type are too well connected and she won't face any legal consequences)

She tried to piggy back on his popularity and make a bit of money for herself but people have done worse. I'd say she is on par with politicians who abuse expenses. Her father raised £39 million for NHS charities and as far as I know the charities did receive all of this money so I struggle a bit to understand the hate for this family.

I think the hate and derision is born of embarrassment to be honest. Embarrassment about the whole thing - the clapping, the banging of pots and pans, the constant "stay home"ing, the fervent voicing of the belief that if we all stayed home and watched netflix then it would all blow over, that if we locked down harder and avoided this, that and the other, then we'd be hastening the end of the pandemic and lockdown and therefore freedom. People feel duped and therefore embarrassed and angry.

It was all completely loopy.

It was a rather substantial.yard TBF 🤣

CrazyOldMe · 07/03/2025 16:17

I don't like Hannah, but this whole narrative is a bit too "burn the witch" for me...

BeardofHagrid · 07/03/2025 16:17

Why on earth is she being allowed on TV again…..

NebulousDogBollocking · 07/03/2025 16:18

I agree @Poppymeldrum , the Faking It team wouldn't need to work hard to earn their fee for that episode.

TootingLido · 07/03/2025 16:23

That woman who slept with a 100 or 1000 men recently (can’t remember how many as si refused to read the junk about her) Bluebell or whatever her name was - I was told by a relative who saw it that she was interviewed on breakfast TV as if what she was doing was the most normal thing in the world 😮. So it doesn’t surprise me. Best thing is to watch none of this junk.

^ that was in reference to the previous poster who asked why people like Tom’s daughter were given a platform on TV.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 07/03/2025 16:32

@WestwardHo1 People feel duped and therefore embarrassed and angry.

I think if people purchased CTMs book feeling like they were also helping a charity in the process (and why wouldn't they, the book said that's what would happen) and then found the profits went to Hannah. Who then popped up unrepentantly on telly then they are entitled to feel angry.

I agree,
So glad I didn't take part in any of it.
I'd be so embarassed

OneBadKitty · 07/03/2025 17:05

All this hailing Captain Tom as some sort of saint is a bit much. It's highly likely he told his kids to make sure they got a little for themselves out of his unexpected fame- after all, if they are shifty then it's likely that he brought them up to be.

CrazyOldMe · 07/03/2025 17:11

Captain Tom - What's the fuss about? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/3894550-captain-tom-what-s-the-fuss-about

Although, this thread is now hilarious in context. It's from the Captain Tom hype...

CrazyOldMe · 07/03/2025 17:13

TBF, I remember at the time that several Mumsnetters did call the scam out and were shouted down!

SparklyBrickViper · 07/03/2025 17:14

I don’t think she ever came across well.

Clearly thinks everyone is unreasonable and she’s been hard done by.

Captain Tom wasn’t really very nice either. His autobiography evidenced that.

What does it say in his autobiography? I'm intrigued

IIRC he didn't enjoy being married to his first wife because she didn't want as much sex as him. Something like that anyway.
