Is currently getting her arse handed to her by Judge Rinder on Good Morning Britain...

She is not coming across well.

Thank you. I suppose I'm petty to still bear a grudge but it did hurt that day.

I bet it did. Your neighbours are indescribable morons and I wouldn't want to mix with them, ever. Integrity is something that can't be taught.

Oh you're spoiling it for the fawners now... there's a pedestal needs positioning.

Hannah is that you ?

I'm talking about judge rinder. Wow. I didn't realise there were so many truly silly people around.

Her book is about the grief she felt after he died, but she took a 100 year old man to Barbados in the middle of a pandemic, conveniently accompanied by her and her entire family! She really is not coming across well in this. She clearly thought she could just go on and say 'Oh I've written a book about grief' and thought she wouldn't be challenged. She either was completely unprepared or she really cannot explain herself.

Edited

There are many books about grief and coping with it that are written by far better qualified people than she is.Authors who are counsellors, psychotherapists etc.

My understanding of her motive having watched the clip is that she wanted to discuss (in her book) how she couldn't grieve properly because when anyone met/ talked to her about her dad, she provided a listening ear for their grief experiences.

I really doubt that anyway.

But the point is, the book is all about her.
Which is what all her behaviour is about.

I genuinely didn't realise people were doing it in real life
I assumed it was a thing put on for tv cameras till weeks into it my mum told me she was doing it and i almost passed out from secondary embarassment

It happened in my neighbourhood. My elderly neighbour phoned me one night, worried that she'd fallen asleep and had missed it...She was obviously concerned that folk would think badly of her.

Robert Rinder is possibly worse than the awful Ingram-Moore. Foul pair, self-serving vanity is off the scale.

ThatOtherAustenSister · 07/03/2025 13:42

I think her book is self-published. And the paperback version will be printed to order, I guess.

The info on it isn't showing any publisher.

It wouldn't surprise me if she's used a ghost writer, as it's a self-help book rather than an autobiography. And she's zero qualifications to write about grief other than her own experience.

BeckyBismuth · 07/03/2025 13:44

Good old Rob, I say.

However, he did a good hatchet job today.

I don't disagree with your view on that self-serving mutt but place the blame firmly at the door of a vacuous general public. We really don't deserve the tripe we get served but, what to do?

Thank goodness for firesticks and streaming services!

> I don’t think she’s a criminal,
The Charity Commissioners disagreed

No, not correct. The Charity Commission for England and Wales is not a prosecuting body. They are a regulator with investigatory powers. The CC is concerned with protecting the public confidence in charities, and clearly what happened with the Captain Tom charity was very damaging.

Banning H I-M from being a trustee was a strong measure to demonstrate the seriousness of their findings. Any criminality would have been referred straight to the police.

I do not think you are petty at all, you were subjected to some pretty nasty behaviour and no one has had the maturity to apologise for it.

"It’s a shame that this is what people remember of the CTF and not how it lifted people’s spirits during a very difficult time"

I never really got how an old man walking slowly around a car park was meant to lift people's spirits tbh. It didn't lift mine.

crumblingschools · 07/03/2025 14:19

The money that was raised by his walking did go to NHS charities, so that wasn't a con. That's where most of the money raised went. It was the separate charity that was set up that had the issues and that the daughter profited from

I think only a certain type of person would have felt their spirits lifted by watching a man they didn't know participate in an obvious scam

crumblingschools · 07/03/2025 14:25

@Mightymoog the money given to walk round the garden wasn't a scam. That went to NHS Charities

The whole thing was a bit of a grift from the start and I include Captain Tom. The fact that the nation collectively lost its mind over some bloke walking up and down was just an effect of lockdown. From then on it was really just a freebie jamboree, including the free holiday that ended up killing him.

Now the collective delusion is that he was a saint and she’s a devil. But the truth is that both of them were on the make. Much easier to pin it all on her than accept we fell for it.

She tried to piggy back on his popularity and make a bit of money for herself but people have done worse. I'd say she is on par with politicians who abuse expenses. Her father raised £39 million for NHS charities and as far as I know the charities did receive all of this money so I struggle a bit to understand the hate for this family.

AthWat · 07/03/2025 14:33

autisticbookworm · 07/03/2025 13:27

I may not know the whole story but do people believe a 100 year old man deliberately conned the public out of money?

Hannah and her husband were stupid though a charity like that was obviously going to be under major scrutiny. I don't know how they thought they would get away with it

I'm not saying Tom Moore conned anyone, but why does his age matter? Do you think if someone is an absolute scumbag all their life they turn nice on their 100th birthday?

TootingLido · 07/03/2025 14:33

PrincessScarlett · 07/03/2025 13:07

Yes, did make me chuckle that her book is self published. It's like she's been turned down by multiple publishers for various reasons but she will still force her book into the public eye because she thinks she's got something important to say 🙄

Reminds me of someone else in the public eye. A woman who lived temporarily in England, but didn’t get on with the in-laws and her house was too small.

The initial money went to NHS together it's the sir tom charity and the lack of clarity that people are struggling with, the book that was written had a forward that mentioned NhS people bought that book after been misguided where the money went, Hannah was paid a heafty salary from appearances on behalf of the sir tom charity she isn't allowed to hold another charity position for 10 years because misappropriation of funds etc etc. She is imo untrustworthy and not an ounce of decency,

TootingLido · 07/03/2025 14:45

I can’t watch Rinder. So I’m torn about watching the interview. I think I would find the two of them together just too maxed out toe curdling at once.

crockofshite · 07/03/2025 14:47

A lot of my neighbours clapped for the NHS partly for social reasons. After the clapping stopped people would hang around for a natter. I have no problem with that.

I don't know what they thought about the gov's treatment of health workers but there were a lot of NHS posters in windows.

Still that doesn't pay the bills.

However I couldn't bring myself to take part with the clapping. As a previous poster pointed out the health workers should have been given proper pay rises to reflect what they had to endure.

There are far worse grifters and charlatans than her walking among us. She's a chancer, of that there is no doubt, however I think the backlash is inordinate.

And she could have quietly fucked off and been forgotten about very quickly, but she instead chose to throw herself on to the fire, at the very minimum showing her total lack of self awareness. Who does she think actually gives a shit about what she has to share in a book. Nobody does. But that won’t stop her trying to cash in on all this bullshit
