By 45p a week. What will you be spending your extra 45p on?

OP posts:
MakkaPakkasCave · 06/03/2025 20:31

One fifth of an acrylic nail extension. Thinking it will look best on my ring finger.

Upstartled · 06/03/2025 20:32

A goat

AllyHayHay · 06/03/2025 20:33

I don't have children but if I did I would spend mine on a Freddo.

Whoops, not enough!

HarryVanderspeigle · 06/03/2025 20:42

Oh gosh, there are so many things I could do with that. Perhaps we could save it up until christmas and get a whole McDonald's each! Such luxury.

skintbuthappyish · 06/03/2025 20:44

I'm going to invest my 45p in a high interest account

SuffolkUnicorn · 06/03/2025 20:45

Burford Browns

Mozzarellapanini · 06/03/2025 20:45

How much would it save the government if they abolished child benefit completely?

Maitri108 · 06/03/2025 20:45

A massive TV.

Thirteenblackcat · 06/03/2025 20:45

MixedBananas · 06/03/2025 20:46

Wildywondrous · 06/03/2025 20:53

I'll be celebrating with my Mum who has just turned 80 so now gets the 25p a week extra in her pension, she can now turn the heating on for 3 minutes a day.

Going to make some overpayments on my mortgage and hopefully retire earlier 🤞🏻

Commonsense22 · 06/03/2025 20:57

CaptainBeanThief · 06/03/2025 20:58

FriendsDrinkBook · 06/03/2025 20:58

TheOneWithTheWedding · 06/03/2025 20:59

Private jet

HygerTyger · 06/03/2025 21:01

AllyHayHay · 06/03/2025 20:31

Well it looks good in the papers eh?
So we can all sit back and feel smug about them cutting funds for the disabled.

It's absolutely sickening isn't it? taking focus off the rises in council tax, water and other utilities whilst cutting essential services. But hey there's 45p increase so it balances out 🤷

RunAwayTurnAwayRunAwayTurnAway · 06/03/2025 21:08

Lambrini.

Andsoitbeganagain · 06/03/2025 21:14

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 06/03/2025 20:55

Going to make some overpayments on my mortgage and hopefully retire earlier 🤞🏻

Picturing the phone call to the bank - “Hi, can you increase my payment by (checks notes) 75p per month please?” 😂

namechangeGOT · 06/03/2025 21:16

Well I'm saving up for some cloud 9 wide straighteners so I estimate this will speed up my purchase by about 40 years.

tellmesomethingtrue · 06/03/2025 21:17

How about just be grateful to be getting any financial support for your offspring in the first place...?

Cunningfungus · 06/03/2025 21:18

Prevalence · 06/03/2025 20:11

Maybe put the 45p per week (£23.40 per year) to the Council Tax that is going up by around £90 per year ...

Or perhaps it will help offset the increase in my energy bills, knocking a huge £1.80 off my £98 monthly increase.

It's just a world of exciting possibilities

Lucky you - mine is going up by £482 a year!!! (Thank you SNP 😡)
