To suspect the "deal" between the US and Russia Greenland for Ukraine?

1000 replies

FancyRedRobin · 05/03/2025 09:02

The way things are shaping up I'm beginning to think the USAs negotiations with Putin were for USA to stand aside and let Putin have part of Ukraine and for Russia to support the US to take Greenland.

Canadians don't get democracy then? Is that where you are? Most Canadians live on the border. Are they becoming Americans, or are they just getting thrown out? Because if they become Americans, that's immediately 30 million votes for anything else.

And if you can find a single post of mine supporting Boris or annexation or the Empire FFS, feel feel to keep making the points about the UK. But I think you'll find I'm not a colonialist when it applies to any country.

The majority of Canadian are liberals - the Republicans would never get in the White House again if we joined the US.

Trump - be careful for what you wish for!

localnotail · 07/03/2025 14:57

@LovingHare I cant understand what are you trying to achieve here. Trump is bad news, he is screwing America and the world, he acts as if he is in Putin's pocket, he is like nothing we have seen before - a leader of a powerful country who is incompetent, nasty and who clearly doesn't have America's and West's interests at heart.

So you defending him? Why? All your whataboutery would not change the fact that American voters have elected an inarticulate nasty buffoon, a criminal, totally inept business person and possibly a traitor to be their president. Everyone is watching in horror and only MAGA followers are cheering - no idea why.

FancyRedRobin · 07/03/2025 14:58

@Parker231 remember Trump said that there wasn't going to be any more elections.

When are elections suspended?

In wartime or civil unrest.

He wants and needs a war to hold onto power.

Because he is trying to put America first, his methods could be better but if he looks after the country as a whole then why is that bad ?

FancyRedRobin · 07/03/2025 15:02

No country is an island and you can't insulate yourselves from global chaos.
Your country cannot thrive if others around are not doing well too.
If global security decreases, you will also be under threat. You might think you're the global lead militarily currently but that lead can be lost, your population is just 4% of the global total.

but at the same time, can everyone keep expecting the usa whenever they need us rather than using nato ?

DuncinToffee · 07/03/2025 15:06

US is still part of Nato

The US is also the only country to invoke Article 5 in the aftermath of 9/11

FancyRedRobin · 07/03/2025 15:06

I don't disagree with the military support being to much on the US, although I would say that the US has been supported in their wars also.
But the way he's burning through allies is insane.

But he is not looking after your country, how can you not see that?!... He is destroying it ((

Anyway, if that's what you genuinely think then I have nothing to say to you, sadly. Adios.

In his business career he's screwed investors, screwed contractors, screwed employees. He's assaulted women and been friends with traffickers. He's only ever been interested in his own interests, at the detriment of everyone else.

Now he appears to have Elon Musk's and Vlad Putin's interests front and centre. Along with his own.

In what world do you think that is 'America'? I've always said I hate American politics, hate their cultural imperialism, hate their ignorance of every other place in the world, hate their systems. But I'm never met a bad one. Lovely people, helpful and kind except for TSA. Trump doesn't give a shit about normal Americans. And he will fuck all their lives up for his own ends.

Trump told Trudeau that he wants to redraw the border between the US and Canada because he doesn’t consider the treaty that established it valid.

That's nice of him, offering Canada some extra land...

I wonder what thought process led him to believe that a treaty, carefully negotiated 113 years ago, by both sides, is invalid.

Mind you, he also said that NAFTA is a terrible treaty, signed by a moron. He's right on the last part.

but in the long term if it makes it better than how is that bad, just because it seems that way now, what if long term his methods make it better ?

very valid points

logicisall · 07/03/2025 16:24

I think that this thread has started going in circles so I've started a new thread that gives a novel Chinese perspective to Trump's second presidential term that likens it to the start of something similar to the Chinese cultural revolution. @LovingHare especially might find the article interesting, as it certainly gives pause for thought.

You can also face problems from within your own country, not all dangers are from other nations and Trump is not winning everyone over that's for sure.

Ipresumecantrecall · 07/03/2025 16:52

@LovingHare

Times are changing and much of what you say is based on the past, a more democratic and fair America

You’re a Trump apologist at the end of the day, anyone can see through your excuses

all i tryed to do is offer a different view on strategy ,

Ipresumecantrecall · 07/03/2025 16:58

You say it’s not a bad thing if he makes America (great again) better by means of bullying, extortion, land grabs and humiliating other sovereigns (“allies”) whilst rolling over for Israel and Russia, if you think by those means it’s great that he’ll make America ‘better’ then all of your reasonings are obsolete to most sane democratic people

but then the problem is who is to say other leaders or some of thos other leaders don't use those very same tatics but they do it in secret rather than via the media ?

LovingHare · 07/03/2025 17:01

all im saying after watching house of cards with frank underwood and the law show the good wife then reading historical propaganda methods edward berneys etc not everything is as the media say etc

LovingHare · 07/03/2025 17:03

not to mention machivelli's book the prince and the book the 48 laws of power by robert greene etc
