I tried.

I really did.

But JFC it's absolutely awful.

"Come and watch me make the most basic of crafts while telling me how much you admire me, and I gently patronise you"

Really awful.

More importantly, if you are going to accuse a person of bullying and create a whole report around this accusations it is only fair to litigate it in court. Doing otherwise does not make any sense.
The fact that after 5 years none of this has happened can only lead you to believe that this is just one of the endless tools used in this smear campaign

So why have the very litigious Meghan and Harry not sued then? They and their lawyers had the initial Times report for several days before it was published, their lawyers’ comments were reflected in the final draft, but the story stood up. The Times published. It was not denied.

Surely Meghan and Harry would be keen to clear their name? But no, they haven’t. They came out with a derisory pushback to the Hollywood Reporter that actually just revealed Meghan as an intrusive boss with no concept of boundaries (she rang her employer’s husband every day while her employee was on a period of long term sick leave!).

I am not sure is that easy to sue the RF. The name of the employees that made these claims have not been made public, so I am not sure that H&M would have been able to go after them directly( and we know that if they had did the press and public opinion would be calling them bullies - " Oh that terrible Meghan Markle using her power and money to go after these poor employees")

As I have said Meghan side submitted their report.

It is far more difficult to prove bullying than to prove you have not bullied someone. Not talking about Kevin knaugh being found doctoring texts from Meghan.

My point stands, if you are going to create a report, and a bullying case fight it in court and maybe seek compensation for this poor traumatised employees no?

Serenster · 07/03/2025 15:41

I am not sure is that easy to sue the RF.

They would be suing The Times, The Hollywood Reporter and Vanity Fair for defamation. Much easier - they have done that quite a lot already! 😀

Serenster · 07/03/2025 15:42

Not talking about Kevin knaugh being found doctoring texts from Meghan.

And I’m sorry - what? Got any evidence for this casual allegation by any chance?

The likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Harvey Weinstein, Diddy, and plenty more, would never have been exposed if it wasn't for the anonymous victims, those people who were silenced with NDA's, having the ability to anonymously disclose what happened to them.

It is good to see bullies being exposed, as in the case of Meghan, especially when it is more than one or two lone voices who can be dismissed and disbelieved, but now there are multiple voices admitting how badly they were bullied, employees who worked for very different organisations in different continents.

It's a huge stretch to believe they are all lying, the 'smear' campaign has been totally demolished. The only ones who did the smearing were Meghan and Harry, .

To be fair, it is not a huge stretch.

There has been an effort to smear M&H, this has been proven multiple times. There is an accurate report by Byline.
So believing that these nameless sources that supposedly work in the orbit of the RF could be making up these stories is not a stretch unfortunately.

I also believe that these employees would have had the fool backing of the institution, so again why not litigate this case in court and seek some justice even if it comes in the form of compensation? The Diddy accusers are taking their cases to court, why not do the same? Maybe because smearing somebody whist being an unnamed source is less risky than being accused of perjury if found lying in court?

BustingBaoBun · 07/03/2025 15:50

Yes. Agree 💯

BustingBaoBun · 07/03/2025 15:53

If Harry and Meghan sued for every bit of crap written about them they would not have a life. It's day in day out year on year

Coolasfeck · 07/03/2025 15:55

I wonder what the Venn diagram of people who hate MM but believe Blake Lively has suffered from a professional negative PR campaign looks like?

It was crazy how there seemed to be a cascading of similar talking points and messages across multiple media channels about this woman to influence opinion.

She receiveS 100X more hate than Prince Andrew or even Lucy fucking Letby. Let that sink in.

I hope the continued persistence of Harry exposes it all.

Shes been portrayed as a modern day Marie Antoinette. It’s crazy to observe.

QueenOfHertz · 07/03/2025 15:57

Maybe but it’s not really the done thing in central London.

It is when it snows.

BustingBaoBun · 07/03/2025 15:59

I agree. And it never stops. The ones that loathe the couple are looking increasingly stupid with it all. Someone posted that they'd sat through 8 episodes of the NF series and hated every minute. Who would do that? Why waste 8 hours of your life like that? Someone who wants to bring hundreds of points of criticism to Mumsnet, that's who!

From what I’ve seen on different SMs, more are questioning the vitriol she receives especially from the media here when before the show was even aired they were already bashing it and people were pulling them up on it.

It’s only proving her and Harry were right to leave and the more it continues the more proof to their claims.

This is true. I also noticed people commenting on the weirdness of the media on this. A couple of weeks ago the Guardian had a couple of negative ‘opinion pieces’ on the show not by tv critics but by their biggest commentators.

A lot of the British media are eating well and having mortgages and holidays paid off due to MM.

JMSA · 07/03/2025 16:15

I've watched only a couple of minutes so far. I'm not going to slam her at all, as I have no feelings either way.
But by God, this is SO American. No Brit would ever make this. I hope she's going to sneak in a bit of self-deprecation soon Grin
At the moment it's too smug, twee and saccharine sweet.

Its similar to other US lifestyle shows. Meghan has not invented the format. Its not my type of show, but some people obviously do like the format.

If I am being honest, I believe that even if the bullying accusations were proven to be completely false in a court of law, even if the DM admitted that 99%of the stories published about MM were false those who want to hate her would still find an excuse.

We are living in very interesting times where a mum from California who produces Jam and has a lifestyle programme is literally described as the antichrist, while (some) people view politicians such as Donald Trump as a great leader who will make America great again. It doesn't matter what they see with their eyes, what facts are presented to them - none of that counts.

BustingBaoBun · 07/03/2025 16:44

I think some people need a villain to hate on. Meghan has been that for years now. I've read the most disgusting things about her here and elsewhere. I did think it would start to fade away now they've been gone for years, but no, it's still carrying on relentlessly. I do wonder what some people want from the couple?
Even if they're doing nothing, they are hounded with old crap whilst they wait for them to reappear. What do people want from these two, it ain't them keeping quiet, that happens and they're still talked about.
I presume a divorce would be the ultimate for some. Or illness, or bankruptcy or no idea what

I think people are envious not least at the 80 million plus (?) she’s got for this. It does seem like an extraordinary amount of money but many would accept if offered.

Yes they want them to divorce and Harry to come back as a working Royal. Its bloody crazy.

Meghan is the equivalent of an American influencer doing lifestyle shows and flogging stuff. Its not my bag, and I probably would have nothing in common with her if I met her. But she is not the anti christ. The obsessional level of hate is crazy.

JMSA · 07/03/2025 17:07

Good luck to her, but I'm out. I tried, I really did. But I simply cannot relate to someone who is such a little Miss Perfect.
Americans probably find it really wholesome and sweet, and that's fine! But as a cynical Scot, it sets my teeth on edge a bit.
I didn't like the music either, even though it fits what she's trying to do.

A pantomime villain for people for the masses, it's crazy

Her show has been renewed for a second season, which is presumably good news for her fans and her detractors both I guess in terms of a rinse and repeat of all these issues! And for Meghan herself of course! 😀

I don’t think it had a British audience in mind at all. The sugary gushing and over effusive praise isn’t really something we do. Could you imagine how a British talk show would go down if it was hosted by a Drew Barrymore type, we’d laugh them out the building. I should think Meghan is looking for a supportive and loyal American following.

I wager you feel I'm unreasonable for finding it awful. I want to know if others feel the same.

Nice try though. Off you pop.

You lost me with “off you pop”. Who TF says that?!
