It's been panned but a lot of the press already hate her, hence my asking

Is it really that bad? I'm in my 30s and it doesn't seem aimed at my age group from the clips online.

There's one bad clip of her correcting mindy kaling on her name but I'm sure that's just been put out to make her look bad 😭

Worth a watch?

I just watched an episode out of curiosity. I'm so sick of all the politics discussions lately and hatred towards them I was hoping for some light relief. the setting itself of the show is pretty but she was a bit too sickly sweet anded up getting bored and turned it off x

HolySchmokes · 04/03/2025 19:16

I don’t hate her, she really doesn’t affect my life one way or the other. I like the premise of the show so I will check it out, and report back!

Onedaynotyet · 04/03/2025 19:18

How can you hate someone you've never met? Have never watched her show, but good for her aiming to be self supporting.
To have a royal family at all is ridiculous, I think. They're just people, like the rest of us (but loaded).

TheAmusedQuail · 04/03/2025 19:22

I'm not a hater. And I don't hate the show. But it's boring and I won't watch it. If i wanted home stuff, I'd join the WI.

LizardQueeny · 04/03/2025 19:24

I have no real interest in Meghan- certainly don't hate her. I might watch the show- probably just one episode to see what it's like- as I quite like a bit of cooking/interiors/general lifestyle-ish stuff. I can see it's been panned for being trite etc but what do people expect?- It's not trying to be Newsnight, it's a light escapist programme about poncing about making things pretty.

Reminds me of how exercised people got about Pippa Middleton's Celebration book- a book by someone professionally involved in party stuff about throwing parties, and yet some people seemed incredibly affronted by the fact it wasn't The Brothers Karamazov.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 04/03/2025 19:25

I don’t think anyone hates her, but if you only want opinions of people who liked the programme, then this will be a very short thread indeed.

WonderingAboutThus · 04/03/2025 19:27

I am a non-hater who spends almost no time thinking about the British Royal family.
I look forward to the show! I hope that it's bland and far removed from my life and mindlessly lovely, to watch something that's not the relentless negativity that is the world news right now. She is standing back in a white suit watching someone else harvest honey?

Honestly, that sounds exactly like the show I need in my life.

Whammyyammy · 04/03/2025 19:27

I'll respect her privacy and not watch it.

IHadaMarvelousTimeRuiningEverything · 04/03/2025 19:37

I managed 15 mins of the first episode before I switched off. It was just SO boring.

Waymarked7 · 04/03/2025 19:39

Don't hate her but the advert Netflix showed looks crap. I don't care what job she had when she was 13 and I don't want to see her fancy out of the real world life.

Sarah2891 · 04/03/2025 19:40

You couldn't pay me to watch it. Not my kind of thing.

LaPalmaLlama · 04/03/2025 19:42

I think unfortunately it underlines the fact that they don’t really have anything original or interesting to say in terms of content and I’m not really sure who it’s for. It’s too “sanctimommy” for a UK audience and it’s not at all relatable, which is fine- not all good tv is relatable, but if it’s not a mirror it has to be a window- it has to offer an insight into something beyind the viewer’s experience- this doesn’t- we can all make a sponge cake and cut up fruit.

LBFseBrom · 04/03/2025 19:43

I like her very much but am not into lifestyle/influencer shows like that so doubt very much I will watch. I'd watch her in something a bit more serious and, frankly, think she is worth more than that sort of show but if it suits her, fine.

Mumof2girls2121 · 04/03/2025 19:43

I liked her in Suits, I think her blog stuff is just boring
I don’t particularly want to watch someone in a perfect farmhouse, try to be perfect making jam or whatever, I’d rather watch the Darling Buds of May for that 😂

BrownPapery · 04/03/2025 19:44

Well I’m watching it now and quite enjoying it but I did just see a man say “every time I visit you I gain 10lbs” while eating half of a raw pea pod 😂

JHound · 04/03/2025 19:45

JimHalpertsWife · 04/03/2025 18:24

Mindy called her Meghan Markle to her face, then Meghan corrected her as if to say "just call me Meghan" (remember these two are supposed to be friends) but actually said "It's Meghan Sussex".

I mean if that is her married name I don’t see the issue.

JHound · 04/03/2025 19:46

I don’t dislike Markle and don’t understand the hysterical reactions towards her but equally I don’t have much interest in her so doubt I will watch the show.

MissRachelismycoparent · 04/03/2025 19:55

I don't dislike her but I have no interested in watching her make rainbow fruit salads and suggesting I can do it on a Saturday morning when I'm actually a shuttle bus for various clubs and birthday parties

Really

have you missed the constant articles written about her knowing that they will get hundreds of responses

HeadNorth · 04/03/2025 20:02

I feel vaguely benevolent towards her as she riles so many weirdly obsessive people. But not to the extent of watching her show - it’s of no interest to me.

MumCanIHaveASnackPlease · 04/03/2025 20:03

i don’t mind them and I think they were right to leave the RF.

However, this girl does not have close friends who live in reality. If she did, there are so many things she has done that I am convinced a good set of girlfriends would have advised her was a bad idea. This show is one of them.

HRTQueen · 04/03/2025 20:05

I don’t watch lifestyle tv just not my thing

I shall probably watch 10 minutes to see what it’s all about

i do wonder if Harry is bored yet or is the freedom (to what he had here) worth it but I doubt we shall get an answer from this show

thiswilloutme · 04/03/2025 20:05

I don't hate her, she seems nice enough, I have zero interest in watching any TV show about her/them - didn't even know there was one. Good luck to her / them in making a living to cover the security bill. I do feel for them on that front as no matter how "low key" they tried to be there would be nutters/terrorists targeting them and the kids for kidnap/ransom.

MeinKraft · 04/03/2025 20:06

Honon · 04/03/2025 18:22

Just that it's a bit vapid really, I can't get worked up about it although I do think she's an intelligent and socially conscious enough woman that she could do something a bit more interesting.

Yes! She does way too much simpering when you can tell she has a core of steel. I think she should have the courage of her convictions and get into writing and campaigning for social change. Not many people like women who are vocal with their opinions, but she isn’t well liked anyway. She may as well be respected.
