My neighbour has been annoying me for months and months

Neighbourissuedaily · 01/03/2025 17:37

I couldn’t take it any more today and snapped at her to just fuck off and leave us alone.

She moved in just over 2 years ago and was overly friendly from the start but I thought it was just her trying to be nice. About a year ago she seemed to be there every time either of us left the house.
She started asking could she add a few bits to our weekly grocery delivery and then didn’t pay us back so after 3 weeks I said sorry we won’t be doing that any more.
If dh goes in the garden she’s there asking for help with something, in spring and summer she wants him to cut her grass for her and when he said sorry he’s busy and doing ours then we have plans she text me to say I’m controlling not allowing him to help her ??

Knocking all the time asking to ‘borrow’ Dh for lifting something / fixing something / etc etc

Wanting to park on our drive often and when I say no she does it anyway ??

EVERY bloody weekday morning she’s there waiting by the car wanting a lift to school and sometimes dh drops me to work on the way and then there isn’t enough room for her and her dc and she will say that I should make my own way then storms off !

There’s more as well I can’t list it all but she’s suffocating and relentless and so so needy.

Today she has been texting asking can dh drop her to the out of hours as she hasn’t felt well. I said no we are busy she should get a taxi. She then came round to ask dh herself and when i said he was busy she said ‘you don’t own him !!’

I’ve told her to never contact us again that we find her exhausting and are considering moving . She told me she wouldn’t be so persistent if we were ‘better natured’ and ‘helped without pressure’ 😂😂 which was when I told her to FO and shut the door.

She text afterwards to tell me I’m very selfish and I don’t have a ‘village mindset’ !!

Oh my god! Are you bored or something? This poster missed one line of the OP and you're acting like she ran over your puppy.

Anyway. OP, neighbour is a CF and fancies your DH. Firm no by text and ignoring in person required.

Delphinium20 · 01/03/2025 20:23

I have a CF neighbor, but not that bad! She also played the 'it's a village' complaint because I don't allow her 6 children to play freely in my flower garden. She told me straight up that I made parenting difficult for her. I bet your CF neighbor moans about how difficult parenting is too, now that she won't have you and your DH doing the hard stuff.

Velmy · 01/03/2025 20:23

You may have found the Queen CF!

No, I’m just responding to the snarky comment that this poster said to a PP.

You know, the “have I touched a raw nerve”.

I stand by the if you give it out, you have to be able to take it.

Gosh, I thought you were going to say 70s or 80s even.
What CF! Don't do anything else for her, make sure dh is on the same page. Let her go in a huff, who cares. Make sure you ban the driveway parking as well. I'm not sure if you have dcs, but of you do, get them kicking balls and playing on bikes! She'll sharp not park there again.

Edited

oi! cease with the ageist crap!

Well said!

Endofyear · 01/03/2025 20:29

She sounds like a complete loon 😳 well done for telling her to F Off. Hope she gets the message and leaves you alone 🤞

Dolambslikemintsauce · 01/03/2025 20:29

Maybe the sausage roll represents his penis.. And the eggs are hers that she wants fertilising??.
My ndn used to knock every Saturday for me to clean out her canary.. She was scared of it. But her bf got her 1 because it matched her yellow kitchen.. She was odd.

Alwaysinamood · 01/03/2025 20:30

I’m getting Baby Reindeer vibes here. It’s not the woman from that is it 🤣🤣

I am sorry it came across as ageist to you and any others. I was meaning somebody who is frail and needing a bit more help, who I could understand would reach out for that extra support. It surprised me, and I think some others as well, when op said the neighbour is 37. It shows just how rude she is, when she is perfectly able.
I missed the the one line of the op saying this woman has a child, when i made that comment a lot earlier in the thread.

Haveyouanyjam · 01/03/2025 20:33

She’s going Glenn Close on your husband. Run!

Seriously though, send her a message saying you do not want any further communication. You will be civil in passing but otherwise she shouldn’t contact you or DH. That way if she doesn’t it anyway, it will count as harassment.

BelleDeJourRose · 01/03/2025 20:45

She sounds very entitled. A village mindset just means "People doing stuff for me" to her. 6 fried eggs?

Yellowcircle90 · 01/03/2025 20:49

Wow! This is bordering on harassment!

Offcom · 01/03/2025 20:50

I think my favourite part is that you would find her less exhausting if you’d just do what she wants. You really can’t reason with that kind of logic!

EmeraldRoulette · 01/03/2025 20:57

I had someone similar in my previous home. I'll give you the short version!

I put a stop to it quickly by not agreeing to anything she asked.

She kept trying and it ended with a bizarre situation in the corridor, she shouted at me repeatedly "you don't understand" when I was saying I couldn't give her advice about a problem she had with her boiler! Her husband heard her and came out to usher her away.

Then my father died and she avoided me, scuttled away when we crossed paths, which I think tells you a lot about her. She saw me crying once and I think it put her off me forever 😂 I was no longer the strong capable woman she imagined maybe? All very odd.

In the meantime she had other neighbours helping her, although as far as I could tell she was perfectly capable. Shopping, other errands, driving her home because she wanted a drink etc.

Then her husband left and she developed health problems - may be linked. I could sense a change when she said hi, I didn't feel I needed to run away, and she stopped asking other neighbours for help too.

From what I could see, she became more "normal" and I saw her being dropped off by taxis etc from nights out. She did have people in the block falling over themselves to do favours for her. I don't know how or why. Unless she was secretly a billionaire.

editing to add - she constantly offered to cook for people, I know that much.

CatCaretaker · 01/03/2025 21:10

@Neighbourissuedaily 'face has subtitles'! That's brilliant!

Lookuptotheskies · 01/03/2025 21:12

You've been very patient. Tell her to fuck off. Ignore her and block her number.

Midnightlove · 01/03/2025 21:30

She's unhinged.. I wouldn't have lasted half as long as you have 🫣

Nat6999 · 01/03/2025 21:54

I has a neighbour who every time I came out my front door was out like a flash wanting to talk, he was just plain weird. When we were clearing our back garden ready for fencing & landscaping, he was stood in his bedroom window with his hand down his trousers wanking. I put up with it for so long until one day in the throws of PND & hormones all over the place, I snapped & told him to fuck off, mind his own business & leave us alone, it was the last time I saw him, he was found dead by his daughter the day after.

He went round once not long after she moved in as she needed help moving a bookcase and a chest of drawers and he seemed so confused when he got back as she offered him food and said she could quickly make him ‘a nice sausage roll with 6 fried eggs on top sprinkled with paprika and a Guinness to wash it down’ apparently when he said no thanks it’s a bit early for lunch she was very offended that he declined and asked him ‘why ? Are you a vegan?’ He said it was just a very odd situation 😂

6 fried eggs!!!! That is new level! 😂😭

Dh was just confused why it was just one sausage roll but 6 eggs 😂 apparently she put a lot of emphasis on the paprika as well and he said he suddenly felt very uncomfortable 🥴

I must agree! If it had been 6 sausages and 6 eggs, you could chalk it up to mad portions. Wink wink paprika! Honestly, keep an eye on her. She has eyes for your husband as PP have said. 'You don't own him'! 😮
