I believe we will be personally and bodily at risk in the course of 2025

I live in a flat in the centre of a major city. I think there are pros and cons to this in a war situation. Inability to stockpile is a big one.

What are you doing (large or small)?

What, because Zelenskyy is digging his heels in about being diplomatic with Russia? So many hyperbolic threads tonight.

He can’t really have thought that the Americans were going to fund him indefinitely. It doesn’t matter how much in the right he is, Putin is never going to admit that he’s the arsehole in this situation so diplomacy and compromise are the only ways forward whether he likes it or not.

It sucks, it’s shit, and it’s been the way it goes since we started waging war on one another. We’ve just forgotten the realities of it because it has been so long since something like this has happened. Outside of film, oftentimes the wronged country has to capitulate in order to survive. Righteousness sadly doesn’t come into the equation.

I mean, we can do fuck all. If it comes to it, I'm checking out.

Until then, I'm avoiding the news - and judging by the active threads list - this place.

Me too. I will grab dh and the pets and march towards the mushroom cloud. I don’t want to survive a nuclear war.
If it’s not nuclear then I will try to make sure we’ve got a good supply of logs for the fire in case of fuel shortages.

If put in was to nuke us I live within 5 miles.of a major military target and would be vapourised in the initial blast so no point in me doing anything either way

Absolutely nothing. And nor do I plan to.

If WW3 does happen, no amount of preparation will make the slightest difference to anything. The best any of us can hope for is for ourselves & our loved ones to be obliterated in the first few hours, as the only certainty is that there will be nothing worth surviving for.

PS It's a very realistic nuclear war film. Very grim and you'll basically want to be one of the ones that dies instantly when the bomb first hits.
