Actually the thing where Republicans cannot say Russia invaded Ukraine is terrifying, Not just for the implications for Ukraine, but the people of the USA. They have a party in charge and it looks like people are actually scared to say this fact.

Now they can go on about free speech. But when facts are not allowed in case you upset your hierarchy, and let's remember it's international politics rather domestic, you really wonder what effect that will have on what ordinary Americans get to know.

If it sounds Orwellian that's because it is.

I don't know what will happen to those Americans that aren't rich, but it doesn't look good.

Do you also agree that America became the massively wealthy and powerful country it did on the back of the profit it made out of WW1 and WW2? I’m not surprised someone as repellent as Donald Trump is actually quite relaxed about starting a WW3. He has a track record as long as your arm, as does Putin, of doing what he pretends others are either doing or making him do - just like the whole “Ukraine started this war” thing.

It wasn't emotional bull. Vance was showing his ignorance about Ukraine and Russia. Zelenskyy gave him some background. Context is very important. The US is demanding Ukraine trust Russia without security guarantees, when Russia has shown it can't be trusted.
