The thing is, Trump's stance makes perfect sense if you are a cunt, which he is.

Ukraine is a long way away and therefore he doesn't care about it. He quite likes their minerals, but can get them from elsewhere.

USA shares a border with Russia which is one of the alternatives to Ukraine for obtaining minerals.

Putin will sign any deal put in front of him, knowing that the only country in the world powerful enough to hold him to it will not do so. So Trump can claim a diplomatic victory for bringing Putin to the table.

Trump doesn't care about Ukraine or even Europe. As far as he's concerned, why should he?

Most (or at least, many) of them are not. They've been radicalized by their right wing press for years now.

Even among those who are non-Trumpers, it's fair (and understandable) to say that Ukraine and Europe's isn't a key issue for many of them.

I don't think it shall make much difference to Trump his voters want to see this Trump letting others know just how powerful he is and to many Americans Ukraine is just not a concern to them but saving billions of $ leaving the country is

Apparently Zelensky has been ceremoniously dumped from the White House with the deal cancelled, and the further planned meeting has been also cancelled. Zelensky has begged Trump to reconsider his decision, which has been a flat out No. probably Trump has seen the playback of their televised meeting and is angry at how it all panned out, and how it reflected on him. His decision to have the talk televised has backfired, and makes him and Vance look like bullies, and I felt so sorry for him. Total lack of respect for another president of equal standing who, just because he wasn’t wearing a suit or ruled over one of the ‘powerful’ countries, was talked down to, talked over and belittled.

People are always half joking Trump is a Russian asset on Twitter… this will add fuel to that fire! Like what the hell what was that!
