Apparently Zelensky has been ceremoniously dumped from the White House with the deal cancelled, and the further planned meeting has been also cancelled. Zelensky has begged Trump to reconsider his decision, which has been a flat out No. probably Trump has seen the playback of their televised meeting and is angry at how it all panned out, and how it reflected on him. His decision to have the talk televised has backfired, and makes him and Vance look like bullies, and I felt so sorry for him. Total lack of respect for another president of equal standing who, just because he wasn’t wearing a suit or ruled over one of the ‘powerful’ countries, was talked down to, talked over and belittled.

Trump doesn’t have the insight to see that it makes him look bad. He actually said “that will make great TV” To him it looks like strength and part of his ridiculous “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT (never been told what they need to fight) USA, USA, USA” thing.

BiggerBoat1 · 28/02/2025 23:42

Trump and Vance are shameless bullies. It was genuinely shocking to watch. Horrifying.

Trump and Vance couldn’t have made it more clear that they want the new world order to be run by the global mafia. Since coming into office, Trump has released criminals from prison, persuaded Romania to release the misogynistic Tates, shown no respect for national sovereignty or law and order, and advertised his support for Putin (one of the richest men in the world, if you count all his hidden or frozen proceeds of crime, which the West knowingly helped him to amass via the UK and US money markets and offshore tax havens).

Edited

The release of the Silk Road guy was disturbing and, especially now, seems like part of a strategy. How much child sex abuse was facilitated by that site?

A lot of national resources are about to be looted and the money is going to disappear.

NotTerfNorCis · 28/02/2025 23:46

Searched on the supposed curseword. It's Pravda, Russian media, claiming Zelenskyy muttered 'suka, blyat' at the point Vance was making out that Ukraine takes visitors on a 'propaganda tour'. To be honest, Vance was being such a massive cock, I couldn't blame Zelenskyy for a momentary loss of control.

Over to you King Charles.
After that cheap trick Starmer pulled yesterday now you are going to have to entertain this clown.

Are you serious? That will have been discussed between as a diplomat move because the US President is a psychotic baby. Didn’t you hear Starmer managing him with ‘Trump talk’. “The last State visit was wonderful wasn’t it Mr President. This one will be even better”. He only just stopped short of using the Trump invented word ‘bigly’!

The reason that Zelensky is alive today is because his protection is paid by American taxpayers. We pay for his salary, his pension, his travel, his security and the combat pajamas he wears. We even paid for him to come lecture us about how we're not doing enough.

And his response to all of that was to demand American boots on the ground in front of the world's press when he was specifically told that was not up for discussion. Then he called the veep a "bitch" under his breath in Ukrainian which was caught on a hot mic.

Now Senator Lindsay Graham, Z's former biggest supporter in the Senate, is calling for him to step down. Z effed up badly today.

American propaganda sounds exactly like Russian propaganda. This is a great opportunity for China as it watches the West implode.

kattaduck · 28/02/2025 23:51

ForestAtTheSea · 28/02/2025 23:40

He would never be that careless; in some videos from the office you can see it's full of politicans, assistants and the media, Hegseth sitting directly opposite him (with red socks and red tie); several mics over their heads, tens of cameras, he just wouldn't do it.

And English is his third language, Russian his first and Ukrainian the second language from growing up in a dual-language country. So if he would speak under his breath in a moment he forgets composure, it'll probably be Russian as it's his mother tongue.

He "allegedly" (according to the professionals on X) said Suka blyat which translates to "bullshit"
And I mean that's probably the most accurate description 😐

I’m American (dual national, though thankfully haven’t lived there for 15 years). I don’t know a single American who voted for this nonsense. I also don’t know a single American who thinks any of this isn’t as embarrassing as all the rest of us do. Obviously, there are plenty of crazy MAGAs out there who love it (frankly not friends with anyone like that!).

But there is a lot of dissent and resistance in America that isn’t being covered by the mainstream media (who are kinda still trying to placate Trump). And there is wide acceptance of likely voter fraud, which Trump and Musk have widely hinted at. All this bullshit isn’t as supported in America as non-Americans seem to believe, but realistically, the average person can’t really do much against an authoritarian regime, same as how Putin stays in power despite being an absolute cretin. Elections are rigged, people get paid off, dissent is being silenced, including violently.

Maybe in the country where everyone carries guns....Trump & JD will be a short-term problem.

The whole world seems to have gone batshit crazy over the last 10 years - at this point I don't give a fuck about nukes anymore, que sera sera!

Right 😂 As if it was just an off the cuff idea or rustled up in the car on the way

Crikeyalmighty · 28/02/2025 23:56

The unfortunate thing is that a great deal of those who voted for him, and particularly the men , have the maturity of a 10 year old and are complete willy waving 'you show em Trump' kind of asshats - you have to go to the states and outside of The more metropolitan areas it's full of these intellectually challenged childish aggressive men

Does that mean iron dome is like a massive tinfoil hat for these guys.

In which case maybe we should be grateful for our terrible free speech laws

Americans have had enough of wars for profit. And yes, we really do want to let the rest of the world get along without us. We really just want to be left alone. We don't want to see any more flag-draped coffins coming home. We don't want hundreds of billions of our dollars spent defending people who hate us.

The US economy has expanded 34% since 2019 and now stands at 29 trillion USD. We are food and energy independent. We are second after China in rare earths. We are second only to Russia in number of nuclear weapons. Our tech industry is second to none and we have more startups than the rest of the world combined. We're building an iron dome missile system over the whole US to protect us from missile and drone strikes.

Yes, please, as a retired American military officer, I say let the killing stop.

Let's be clear, what the US is doing is saying "let the killing start", all while gouging Ukraine for minerals and Europe to buy more military hardware.

This might see a pause in Russia-Ukraine fighting, but it's rolling out the red carpet for Russia to make further inroads into Europe.

Coolasfeck · 01/03/2025 00:00

The guy who berated Zelenskyy for not wearing a suite is Majorie Taylor Greene’s boyfriend.

Also Associated Press and Reuters were barred from the press pool but Russian media was allowed in.

WTAF?!!

I think it’s safe to say all NATO countries should stop sharing intelligence with USA immediately. Europe also needs to pivot to a defence footing. Investment in defence tech should be a priority.

DogPawsMud · 01/03/2025 00:04

To quote an oft reported line we use on MN, these men have shown us who they are. Believe them.
When the likes of Tate are feted by the POTUS and his administration, and an elected leader of a war torn country is treated so appallingly by them, they are showing us all their complete absence of decency and integrity.
I truly hope this backfires and Europe including the U.K. stand up to these bullies. I’d happily pay more tax so our leaders don’t have to grovel to Trump.

Thisandthatandthensome · 28/02/2025 19:47

Trump is definitely Putins puppet.

I’d love to know what Putin has on Trump.

Trump obviously has his beady eye on the minerals and stealing from Ukraine, but I think there’s something more to this.

The USA is not energy independent.
It gets a huge amount of oil and electric from Canada, for example. Although Trumps tariffs have put this in jeopardy.

90% of potash is from Canada. Bit tricky to grow stuff without fertiliser. Expensive to buy too, with Trumps tariffs

Canada is not part of the USA, whatever Trump says.

okay... but that's not what the earlier poster claimed it was.
He wasn't attacking anyone with a personal insult - and I still couldn't imagine he would say such a thing to Vance.
I'm still watching the rest of the video; always have to stop in between to recover from the madness. It was already very undignified to always interrupt Zelenskyy with more accusations; and he only started interrupting back because the other two were so deranged. Probably Zelenskyy should have stood up and left already then, but he was trying to stay calm.

Even if people have vastly different opinions, that's no way to conduct themselves as President and VP in front of the press, which points even more towards that this all was planned.
