It’s very striking. I actually like her eyes but either way it’s her choice . I can’t get excited let alone horrified about someone else’s cosmetic choices .

She looks like has a Halloween mask on. She will scare kids. Why would anyone want to look like a character from a horror film?!

Rainbow1235 · 25/02/2025 20:15

She also said she keeps her nose in a jar so obviously it was amputated

Coatsoff42 · 25/02/2025 20:18

She’s a bit over obsessed with her appearance, she must have spent a fortune on it, hours and hours in pain and honestly who cares? Shes not exactly making the world a better place. It’s a bit introspective and self obsessive to do this. I don’t have a strong opinion, but she’s sold her story so I feel free to comment.

I quite like the forehead horns.

Her body, her choice.
(And she looks far less weird than the ‘filler queens’.)

She looks less weird than people who have a bit of filler here and there....? OK love.

The whole "her body her choice" seems quite hypocritical given how you definitely judge women who have filler.

dawngreen · 25/02/2025 20:22

Waste of a surgeon when people who actually needs a surgeon are stuck on waiting lists.

Idisagreewithu · 25/02/2025 20:24

I think people who say it's self-harm are onto something, but the list includes any non-essential surgical procedure, botox, any tattoos.

You do realise that private surgeons don't have anything to do with Nhs waiting lists?

Besides that, she went to a body modifier not a surgeon.

SuffolkUnicorn · 25/02/2025 20:30

Maybe she likes it

I know, why should they be prosecuted when she would have asked them to do it? She can have her nose reconstructed if she wants to

Simply unethical to proceed but money is a great driver. The young woman appears to have body dysmorphia issues.

I thought along similar lines. Overly made up, tanned and lip filler looks scare me too because it’s like trying to hide/obliterate yourself. Just in forms that are more socially acceptable.

The difference to me though is the symbolism present here, seemingly glorifying (or making light of) death (in the skeleton-like nose and tattoos) and evil (the horns).

Trying to obliterate yourself (wether it looks more or less beautiful) gives me demonic vibes.

Oh honey, the 1990s wants its Satanic Panic back 🤣

On a more serious note, it was this kind of fear/ scorn / othering that lead to the murder of Sophie Lancaster.

The alternative scene exists, it's not a threat because you don't like the aesthetics, and it's been around since punk in the 70s. We're quite happy over here in our bat caves, ta muchly. And supping with the devil guarantees good 🍷 x (if you believe in all that of course.)

Yourcatisnotsorry · 25/02/2025 20:41

Meh, her body her choice. She’s not harming anyone, if you don’t like it don’t look.

XenoBitch · 25/02/2025 20:43

Her body, her choice.

I saw a video of a interview with a lady who was transforming herself into a 'dragon queen'. She had also had various bits removed, and lots of implants and tattoos. She was amazing to listen to, and was a genuinely lovely person.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/02/2025 20:48

Where did Horns = Evil come from?

Goats? Elephants? Triceratops? Reindeer?

None of them scream ‘evil’. Horns are neutral at best.

Mrsdyna · 25/02/2025 20:49

The surgeon and tattoo artist should be prosecuted.

Edited

I don't think surgeons do this. it is usually body modification artists.

gardenflowergirl · 25/02/2025 20:51

How on earth can she hold down a job looking like that?

NeedToChangeName · 25/02/2025 20:54

PenneyFouryourthoughts · 24/02/2025 21:07

I agree with @MistressoftheDarkSide .

Would I do this to myself? No. Would I be disappointed in my child doing this to herself? A little. But just because she's chosen this path doesn't mean she has a mental illness. I am very much in favour of body autonomy. It's her body, she can do what she likes with it.

You'd be "a little" disappointed if your child did to themselves? I'd be devastated

Morganrae1 · 25/02/2025 20:58

That's scary to me. Why would anyone do that to themselves? More to the point why would you do it to someone else?

nahthatsnotforme · 25/02/2025 21:01

I really don't think 'her body, her choice' is justification for this. I would agree for things like hair colour or style, tattoos even. But actually having body parts removed?! In the name of style or individuality?

No. That's really not normal, or right. If it was it would be available by above board means.

It's extremist. Awful

Still her body, and still her choice.

nahthatsnotforme · 25/02/2025 21:06

But @XenoBitch isn't someone taking advantage of her? Someone somewhere is doing this to her..

XenoBitch · 25/02/2025 21:10

nahthatsnotforme · 25/02/2025 21:06

How? I have seen interviews with people who are similar to this lady, and they have a vision of what they ultimately want to look like. Yes, it might seem crazy to most people, but who are we to judge when someone does not want to conform to our usual beauty standards? They have to travel far and wide to find body mod artists to carry out the procedures on them. They are choosing to do this, and are not being taken advantage of.

imtheholidayarmadillo · 25/02/2025 21:13

This makes me so sad for her. Imagine when the regret kicks in, and I'd be absolutely astonished if it never does. Imagine how people are going to react to her. She's permanently ruined her face and I agree with those saying there are probably MH issues in the mix.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 25/02/2025 21:14

Woah. This woman has had her intelligence insulted, been accused of being mentally ill, had the word extremist used in reference to her, and now it's being suggested she's being taken advantage of. I'm surprised that people commenting here think women should be allowed to make any autonomous decisions at all.

She's not campaigning for everyone to follow suit, she's done something for herself and it's her choice.

Not much sisterhood here in those sorts of comments, but plenty of Mother Superiors it seems.

imtheholidayarmadillo · 25/02/2025 21:14

I also agree with those saying that whoever did the work should be struck off.
