I don't care for either of them.
The first one I don't like the fittings of the kitchen or bathrooms, which already looked dated to me, or the flooring, so that's quite a major issue. The garden's too small and public and I'd be concerned about security with the low fences between the plot and the playing field. I also don't see much point in the balcony unless it's off the landing or main bedroom, I'd want access to that myself.
I wouldn't want to be on a busy road, or lack a driveway because I'm used to a good front garden with plenty of parking and access to the garage. I like to pull up close to load and unload the car and again, would have some security concerns with parking away from the house as well as the inconvenience. For personal preference I like the main bedroom at the back of the house, especially if it fronts a main road and I'd rather have a utility room than a wine cellar. Not keen on a front to back room that's been knocked through, for me, it always remains a room of two halves. I'm also used to double glazing and although the style of the windows etc is really nice, the EPC is a shocker. I have known people prepared to deal with cold, draughts and condensation because they've fallen in love with a property, but that was quite a while back and it was never for me anyway.
Most of those points are down to personal preferences, but it goes to show that even when the asking price is over £1.5million, it's hard to find 'perfection' There's almost always a compromise to be made somewhere or another.
