Neither. I hate terraced houses and detached houses that are a metre away from the neighbours

Just noticed 2 isn't a terrace. I hate the lack of parking anyway.

user1498572889 · 17/02/2025 14:04

I like them both but 2 is fav

UggyPow · 17/02/2025 14:06

I'm No2 as well

I need something with an Annex - ground floor level for the ageing parent if anyone has spotted anything (this is my dream anyway - hate them being a 6 HR drive away & don't have this budget) 😆

MikeRafone · 17/02/2025 14:06

I8toys in the garage or car port?

MatildaTheC

the tv room is in the cellar and the window isn't blocked its underground

There is a carport and garage - how much parking do you need?

The energy performance certificate on NR 2 is shocking. On that basis, I would go with property 1 but I would change absolutely everything inside to make it feel like a proper home and not a horrid box of marble and magnolia.

notgettinganyyounger · 17/02/2025 14:09

Neither.

  1. Is bland and beige
2 less so but still not my cuppa

More than that 😂

jeaux90 · 17/02/2025 14:11

Neither one is literally a posh prance house and the other is too cookie cutter.

For that money I'd rather have somewhere with no neighbours and more land.

jeaux90 · 17/02/2025 14:11

Prance!! terrace I meant

pelargoniums · 17/02/2025 14:11

I’d need to redecorate No2 top to toe as it’s not my vibe, but the good bones are there. I’m pleased there are no en suites awkwardly carved out! You could turn that little back bedroom into a second bathroom if needed. There’s already three loos in the house (though I don’t love the ground floor layout), how many more does anyone need really.

SpotlessLeopard · 17/02/2025 14:11

Number 2 is the most beautiful but the parking makes it a no for me, I am not parting with £1.6m to have to trudge up the garden with my shopping!!

I also expect an ensuite for my £1.6m!!

I8toys · 17/02/2025 14:12

What's that staircase you can see out of the kitchen window on no. 2? Next door?

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 17/02/2025 14:13

If it was a choice of either of them or nothing, I would go with number 1. The inside can be decorated to taste and it may or may not get build around it.

Number 2 feels already too crowded/overlooked and I much prefer the driveway and garages of number 1. If number 1 got built around then you could always move if it bothered you.

Londonmummy66 · 17/02/2025 14:14

Neither - I'd rather have this one although it would need a bit of redecoration but the garden is lovely. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/156390827#/?channel=RES_BUY
Or this one https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/149466296#/?channel=RES_BUY

Auburngal · 17/02/2025 14:14

Is it just me that wastes so much time on RM? I go on https://www.mapcrunch.com/, select Urban and UK to get a random address. Find postcode and search that with a 1/4 mile radius.

I love finding 'dez res' properties - the properties that haven't had much done in the past 40+ years. Sort of properties you see on HUTH. Like this beauty. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/156861776#/?channel=RESBUY

Extra points for swirly carpets.

This property also has a loo, no bathroom

Looks like it’s beyond the fence line, like it must come from next door’s upstairs, so next door might be flats. Not spending £1.6m to live next to flats!

godmum56 · 17/02/2025 14:16

wow they shoehorn em in! I'll have this one please https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/153799082#/media?activePlan=1&id=media19&ref=photoCollage&channel=RES_BUY

meganorks · 17/02/2025 14:17

Number 2 is much nicer and walkable to everything. 1 is ugly. But I also find it weird when a house is trying to show off being rural views whilst being right on top of the next house.

JHound · 17/02/2025 14:17

The first one hands down. That’s my kind of style.

FilthyforFirth · 17/02/2025 14:18

Neither! Imagine paying £1.6m for a house that is that packed in and close to your neighbours and a tiny garden.

No thanks!

ChopstickNovice · 17/02/2025 14:19

No 2 as long as they take the haunted rocking horse with them when they move out 😂

Timeforanotheraliasnow · 17/02/2025 14:20

If I had to have one, it'd be no 2 as the interior is nicer, but I wouldn't want a terrace. No 1 is vile, too clinical & far too close to neighbours.

Pippinsdiary · 17/02/2025 14:21

Number 2 is stunning!

BreezyScroller · 17/02/2025 14:21

They both need an awful amount of redecorating, but number 2 is my choice without a doubt.

Number 1 has a ridiculously small garden. It would make a nice airBnB, but I wouldn't love living in it permanently.

Put number 2 in London and I'll buy it! The price would be higher unfortunately.
