Things are already tough in my industry - I’m a contractor and this past year is my worst in over two decades - but should I be expecting things to get worse not better?

and I sound stupid, but what are the main economic indicators?

We now have additional defence spending. Unless we get people working and producing goods snd services, we will continue to have economic problems

Boosting defence spending should create a few jobs, surely. Gravediggers, monumental stonemasons, celebratory poets. That sort of thing ?

As @ARealitycheck says, the answer is tidal power. The UK has 7.5k miles of coast and the tide rises and falls twice a day on a predictable schedule. It's not easy or cheap, but it is the best renewable option we have. And it isn't going to stop.

@Papyrophile How will you get home corners to convert to 100% electricity? Who will do the work and pay for it? There’s a reason why wave power is not fully developed!
