I am Not "Woo" at all but this just happened

so I'm in no way, shape or form "woo" buuutttt just been sitting on side of my bed texting on my phone and my soundbar for TV (which I've had for 4 years with no issues) just decided to launch itself onto the floor, has hit my foot and cut it, picked it back up thinking how weird 🤷🤷 went back to my phone and a bottle of water, tube of face cream and a lip balm on top of my chest of drawers then launched themselves across the room, pretty freaked out by this point but still being rational in my head, picked phone back up carried on messaging back a friend, looked up to think what I was trying to type and felt a big tap /slap and literally saw my phone fly in the air and land other side of room, trying hard to think rationally but feeling pretty spooked right now
😭there's a rational reason for all this, yes???

You don’t need to believe it, the ghost does

What if it's the ghost of an atheist?

Hdjdb42 · 09/02/2025 23:59

I believe you! 5 years ago my teenage daughter and I, watched my phone move across the kitchen worktop and fall (slowly and diagonally) to the floor. We were gobsmacked! Years ago my friends family had to move house years ago, due to poltergeist activity. They're all non believers and refused to get.someone to cleanse the house. They opted to leave instead.

Omg this thread is creeping me out just as I'm about to go to sleep! I'm a wuss with things like this. No idea how I'd be sleeping at all if i was in your shoes, OP!

TheWonderhorse · 10/02/2025 00:03

Earthquake in North Wales. It actually happened. Hope you haven't burnt your house down yet OP.

Have we ruled out dragons yet?

It’s happening before your eyes. What’s not to believe?

This ☝🏻 unless you’ve taken hallucinogenic drugs.

Shera12 · 10/02/2025 00:23

It must be the earthquake it’s too big a coincidence for it not to be, surely.

No idea, not a scooby, I'm on the 'what harm could it do?' (barring setting off your smoke alarm), side of things. I'd be fine lighting up an entire bouquet of herbes de provence if I thought there was a poltergeist about.

I think it could do some psychological harm to be honest. Actively doing something will solidify belief in it. The same as how doing weigi boards (unsure of spelling) or watching a scary film can mess with people's minds.

ThatUniqueKoala · 10/02/2025 00:29

You need an old priest and a young priest

Not a middle aged one?

Ireallycouldntpossibly · 10/02/2025 00:30

I wont go into it, but it completely changed the way I see things.

C’mon @brassandswitch you can’t leave us dangling like that ..

CustardySergeant · 10/02/2025 00:34

I'm pretty sure the earthquake in North Wales is an old story, not recent.

BeMoreAmandaland · 10/02/2025 00:52

Have you been renovating?

I am Not "Woo" at all but this just happened
ByGiddyQuail · 10/02/2025 00:52

OhMyGollyGoshGosh · 09/02/2025 20:49

Exactly.

But these threads seem to draw apparently grown adult MNetters like seagulls to a bag of chips 🙄

And almost every thread starts with "I'm not at all woo but..."

If there's been no earth tremor, distant explosion or anything similar then it's far more likely to be a mental health issue developing, than Ghostly Gary chucking lip balms around.

Like seagulls to a bag of chips....
Definitely stealing this little gem 🤣🤣🤣

Robogob · 10/02/2025 00:54

It sounds to me very very similar to the “black hood” tales around the mid 80s.

SnowFrogJelly · 10/02/2025 00:55

Call that guy from Uncanny

SnowFrogJelly · 10/02/2025 00:55
