This is mine,£285 and I wouldn't say it has been particularly cosy warm.

We set the thermo to 15 at night and up to 17 in the afternoon to take the chill off and get the radiators warmer.

This is for a 1930 three bed semi.

It isnt going to get better is it?

No its not going to get better . Mine was Oct/Nov/Dec £450. and pence, Jan/Feb/Mar will be worse I know.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/01/2025 16:38

£234 for a 3 floor 3 bed semi. I'm addicted to the tumble dryer though so that won't help. On days when everyone is at work and therefore no heating or appliances on we spend about £4 total!

Secularbeaver · 29/01/2025 16:41

£275 3 bed semi with a loft conversion, I use a dryer fairly often too - we have the heating on for an hour in the morning and from 5-8.
We do have two fridge freezers but other than that I'd not say we're particularly extravagant. Can't really see what we can cut out 😭

BeachRide · 29/01/2025 16:43

I've just submitted my meter reading and waiting to be told I have no money left ...

Elzibub · 29/01/2025 16:45

£340 4 bed detached built in 2016. Heating for an hours in the morning and lunch time (I work at home and it’s freezing in between) then in the evening it comes on. We have thermostat at 22 and 18 at night

Stumblingalongthroughlife · 29/01/2025 16:45

£145 total for a 3 bed Victorian terrace. Heating goes on for 40 minutes morning, lunchtime and evening. Clothes dried with dehumidifier and heated airer.

PeterPicklePiper · 29/01/2025 16:46

£80 electric, have solar panels
Plus half price electric 11 to 4 weekends in the winter
Plus an oil tank which is filled twice a year

MissBuzzard · 29/01/2025 16:47

£160 so far. 4/5 bed detached with a heat pump. 20 during the day, 19 overnight.

BMW6 · 29/01/2025 16:50

2 bed Victorian terrace.

Both retired so heating on 24/7

Gas 137 electricity 67.

Done lots of tumble drying and heating only down to 18° overnight most nights.

Have been very cozy so worth every £

chattyness · 29/01/2025 16:51

£175 all electric for a small one bed bungalow, no tumble dryer, retired so home all day but just two of us & a dog, we're only heating the room we're using, taking a daily shower, and it's been very cold, not at all cosy

MissEloiseBridgerton · 29/01/2025 16:51

I haven't had a bill yet but so far we are sitting at £114 for gas and £93 for electricity. I don't scrimp on heating and use the tumble drier every day in winter.

Forgot to say, standard 1960 3 bed semi detached

Arlanymor · 29/01/2025 16:53

I won’t know until Friday but I’d estimate about £150 combined for the month, if it comes in below that I’ll be pleased as the weather here has been diabolical and I’ve been working from home almost every day. I’m out more in February so hoping for closer to £120 that month, we’ll see…

DeedlessIndeed · 29/01/2025 16:55

£491 for gas, £84 for electricity. 4 bed victorian semi, kept at 19C as we have a baby. Feel a bit sick when I think about it honestly.

That's for the quarter surely DeedlessIndeed not just for January?

Reallyaretheythatgreat · 29/01/2025 16:58

£50.08 electricity and £52.24 on gas.

3 bed new build “mews” terraced house.

thermostat is set to 18 degrees most of the time apart from when I’m in bed or at at work.

@BMW6 - unfortunately not! We were staying with family for most of Dec so it was lower but this is monthly. I live in Scotland, but in the central belt so not remote. Normally 200-300pm

Same here.

The direct debit is £50 for each. They check the meters themselves as they’re outside.

stairgates · 29/01/2025 17:04

Roughly £250 a month combined, 6 bed semi (3 beds in loft conversion) used tumble dryer and heating whenever needed this last few months

shellyleppard · 29/01/2025 17:05

£175 for gas and electric, two bedroom semi detached..... this was high for us but I refuse to freeze. Its a council house and not very warm sometimes. Heating is on for 3 hours in the morning, same at night. But if it's extra cold I put it on more. Despite wrapping up in 3 layers Lol

Seawolves · 29/01/2025 17:06

We moved in just over a month ago £65 electric and £60 gas, two bed detached bungalow for January. My little boy is technology dependent (feed pump, profiling bed, hoist, suction etc) but I am pleasantly surprised at how much lower the bills are here, heating is set to around 22° during waking hours and 16° overnight.

DuckDuckGoosieGander · 29/01/2025 17:08

Bill for January isn't in yet but December was £282. 1930s 5 bed semi. Heating at 15 overnight and 16 during the day. Might push it up to 17/18 if really cold. No tumble drier but use dehumidifier to dry clothes. We would have previously run the heating at 20 over the winter without a thought.

Tilly915 · 29/01/2025 17:09

£180. 2 bed victorian terrace. Heating on for 2.5 hours in morning and 3 hours in evening. I just turn it off overnight. Work from home so use a little heater to heat one room during the day.
