The KKK is feeling pretty empowered

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 22/01/2025 17:23

This is what happens when a man like Donald Trump gets in power.

These are the people who feel empowered.

While MN celebrates the " only two genders ", people of colour in Kentucky are scared.

I've seen threads on here wishing the UK had Trump. Is this really what you want?

Is this really the type of people you want in power?

Those that voted for Trump over trans issues, what about shit like this? Or women dying from lack of abortion access? Or climate change? Or the casual revisiting of gay marriage rights?

According to GLAAD all resources referencing LGBTQ and HIV have been removed from the White House website. Gay, lesbian, no results come up in the search.

" Pages removed include WhiteHouse.gov’s equity report (no longer accessible), a fact sheet with information on expanding access to HIV prevention and treatment (no longer accessible), and information about LGBTQ Pride Month (no longer accessible). Agency page removals include Department of State’s LGBTQ rights (no longer accessible), and Department of Labor’s LGBTQ workers page (no longer accessible). "

Documents, including phone number and invitation to ‘join us’, distributed same day Trump took office

I believe there are only two sexes. I also think Trump is a hateful piece of shit who should be in jail. I don't celebrate this. I think it will further push the left towards the side of genderwooists, because a basic understanding of biology is now seen as right-wing.

Anyone who celebrates this isn't a feminist, they just know men have penises.

"because a basic understanding of biology is now seen as right-wing."

You're saying that people are EITHER male OR Female?

This is from the Cleveland Clinic:

"People who are intersex have genitals, chromosomes or reproductive organs that don’t fit into a male/female sex binary. Their genitals might not match their reproductive organs, or they may have traits of both. Being intersex may be evident at birth, childhood, later in adulthood or never. Being intersex isn’t a disorder, disease or condition."

If you're talking about transgender people, you're talking about people whose gender (social and psychological contruct of sex) isn't congruent with their biological sex.

Nobody I know who supports the rights of transgender people to be accepted as their preferred gender has any confusion about the existence of biological sex. The view that they do though is something you see a lot in propaganda ridiculing and vilifying transgender people and their allies.

I said he has a large far right following. I didn't say that everyone who voted for him is far right.

OK, but you must concede that that far right following is only a tiny proportion of voters. Just the same as the far left.

username299 · 22/01/2025 23:03

People vote for who they align themselves with.

You say it's a shallow viewpoint then go on to describe why they do. I'm simply stating facts, he's been accused by many including those close to him of being a fascist and is supported by America's alt right, in fact he recently pardoned them.

This is all well known and reported on.

The facts are that millions of Americans voted for him. I highly doubt that millions of Americans are pro fascist, or voted in order to 'align themselves' with a fascist. They had a choice of two people and a larger amount chose one of those two available options than chose the other. That's all that happened, that's literally how the election works.

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/01/2025 23:11

MugsyBalonz

South Carolina have introduced a bill which, if it passes, will allow the death penalty as punishment for women who procure an abortion.

Which bit of that is good for American women?

That is chilling.

I’m amazed that so many women are prepared to overlook Trump’s disgusting, seedy record because “he knows what a woman is”.

Sickening what people will ally themselves to if it furthers their cause.

I doubt everyone who votes for extremists are in complete agreement. I would withhold my vote rather than vote for someone who uses dehumanising rhetoric, brags about sexually assaulting women and doesn't believe in democracy. It's very obvious what you're voting for with Trump, he doesn't hide what he is.

It's akin to saying millions of Americans are communists to align themselves Kamala Harris. Barking mad.

Will his actions have a positive action?

He believes in gender - he believes that your sex determines things about you. That is the opposite of what women should have been objecting about with the transgender discussions.

He believes the female sex shouldn't be in business, government , anywhere but the kitchen or the bedroom. Abortion rights anyone ?

It is absolutely disgusting that the KKK is rising - and this remind me of the poem/ saying about when you ignore when they came for someone else, and then it's your turn and there is no one to help you

David Duke and the KKK are antisemites and had that in common with some of the democrats. There is no evidence that the KKK are "rising" due to trump who actually gained a lot of support from minority communities.

Ultimately neither party were perfect and both have their flaws. I don't likeTrump as a man but I'm pleased with some of his policies including the rolling back of gender ideology. I'm also pleased that he's finally doing something about antisemitism. But lots of things I don't approve of too. But I'm not going to pretend that I don't believe in certain things anymore because Trump does.

Also GLAAD have been very focused on the T to the detriment of the LGB so I don't put much stock in them

No, I think on a lot of subjects Trump is completely nuts. But to the majority of Americans he was the best candidate on offer.

I don't think that's true anymore. Maybe in 2016, but not now.

user243245346 · 22/01/2025 23:19

"Not quite sure what you mean by this? Trumps campaign is that he will only recognise 2 genders."

He has issued an excellent Executive Order setting out that there are two sexes. It's exceptional (and obviously wasn't actually written by him).

TaffetaRustle · 22/01/2025 23:21

@ARealitycheck awful we had this explosion of poor men kept in sheds and old caravans being worked and enslaved.

I wonder what would or could happen if we also declared foreign gangs to be terrorists?
What new powers would it give us it's utterly horrendous how Albanian gangs etc have been allowed to get a foot hold here.

ShirkingFromHome95 · 22/01/2025 23:22

ARealitycheck · 22/01/2025 23:05

I cannot speak for America on this point. But certainly UK, the majority by a country mile working in hands on agriculture like crop picking were Eastern European. A British/Australian/NZ student stood no chance of seasonal fruit picking. It was tied up by EE gangmasters supplying labour.

No doubt, but it's hardly a booming industry like construction. People that work in offices don't usually have much exposure to this because they work in majority white mc environments alongside other graduates.

TaffetaRustle · 22/01/2025 23:23

@Princessconsuelabananahammock9
The whole world is watching and will be revolted if any groups like that start to do nasty things.

ARealitycheck · 22/01/2025 17:52

Totally ignoring and gaslighting the general public for making reasonable requests gives rise to left or right wing groups.

We only have to look at the perfectly reasonable point made often on here about transexuals. Most normal thinking Brits do not think they should be able to decide what they identify as and access women only spaces.

Vast amounts of Brits were happy with the EU as a trading block, but didn't want open doors for migrant workers. We ended up with Brexit.

Politicians need to get out their London or Washington centric worlds and listen to the entire population.

This post is absolutely spot on.

Most people are reasonable, level headed and decent, but if you don’t take heed of the majority and listen to their concerns, then extreme pockets (of either the right or left) will form that don’t represent the general views.

Keep trying to shush people with genuine worries then this is what you end up with. I can’t say I’m surprised to be honest, far right yobs with disgusting banners.

Come on- Trump doesn’t give a shit about women

He cares a great deal about women. Otherwise he wouldn’t have sexually assaulted so many of them, or been so dedicated to denying them the right to choose an abortion.

As @TaffetaRustle has obviously witnessed, it is a booming industry. There were thousands of EE workers taken advanatage of living in poor quality caravans and working for ridiculously low amounts here in the UK. Lincolnshire as a good example was absolutely covered with workers like these.

What's that even supposed to mean? Your whole post just comes across as incoherent.

I've no idea how you think that a website full of mostly UK based, mostly mothers, had any bearing on the results of US election. I didn't vote for Trump, I didn't vote in the US election at all, cos I'm not American. Take it up with them.

Exactly. And I bet op is not a "person of colour" in Kentucky.

People are tired of being lectured to by white middle class liberals. Including people of colour in Kentucky and elsewhere. That was one reason Trump got in.

@GrouachMacbeth I live in texas & the very same state lawmakers who made abortion illegal are the ones who have to put abortion rights on the ballot to be voted on. They have no intention of doing that because they know the majority want reasonable abortion rights and health care for women. So the minority rules.

So why does no one vote for pro abortion candidates? I personally am pro choice but I don't think you can blame politicians if the electorate don't vote for it.

I also agree with that post by ARealityCheck. I took a look at the Reform website today for the first time and the front page has the below spiel. This will be relatable to a lot more Brits than crossdressers in women's toilets and hate speech laws to stop people saying that humans can't change sex, despite the latter obv being concerning developments too.

You are worse off, both financially and culturally. Wages are stagnant, we have a housing crisis, our young people struggle to get on the property ladder, we have rising crime, energy bills are some of the highest in Europe, the NHS isn’t working, both legal and illegal immigration are at record levels and woke ideology has captured our public institutions and schools.

The Conservatives have failed and Labour will fail too. A vote for either is a vote for more incompetence, dishonesty and failure.

We are ruled by an out of touch political class who have turned their backs on our country.

Reform is the alternative.

Only Reform will stand up for British culture, identity and values. We will freeze immigration and stop the boats. Restore law and order. Repair our broken public services. Cut taxes to make work pay. End government waste. Slash energy bills. Unlock real economic growth.

Only Reform will take back control over our borders, our money and our laws. Only Reform will secure Britain’s future as a free, proud and rich nation.

ShirkingFromHome95 · 22/01/2025 23:47
