That picture of the Southport killer

1000 replies

User09678 · 20/01/2025 17:11

That has been circulating today.

Remember that sweet boy that was in all the reports at the time? The one who looked about nine?

Can anyone think of any other serious criminal who has pictures of them as a child out in the press?

he is going to get life as that is the only sentence the UK has for murder, I would assume and hope that in this case it is a whole life order.

Of course he’ll get a life sentence but with a minimum recommended term. But isn’t our glorious leader, as a human right supremo, opposed to whole life tariffs? He’ll be sentenced as a minor and out in less than ten years with a new identity, no doubt.

https://news.sky.com/story/southport-stabbings-were-savage-and-senseless-as-mugshot-of-attacker-axel-rudakubana-released-13292966

This story is an example of why people will jump to conclusions. It only refers to his extreme ideology interest by referring to the Al Quada manual.

It says the court heard no evidence of a diagnosed MH condition. ( I'll eat my hat if he doesn't have something going on). No diagnosis means nothing.

Omission of information really does feed into people's perspective.

I don't follow Sky News. I have no faith in most news sources. I typed in the name and went with what popped up.

Southport stabbings were 'savage and senseless' as mugshot of attacker Axel Rudakubana released

The prosecution said the fatal stabbings were part of a "meticulously planned rampage" from a "young man with a sickening and sustained interest in death and violence".

He will get a sentence of life imprisonment but can't be given a whole life tariff due to his age at the time of the offence.

THIS ☝️

A lot of people {usually males} who do these kind of atrocities do show signs beforehand.

Often thought of as ''strange loners'' {I won't name them as don't want to give them any publicity} school shooters & mass killers}

People instinctively don't feel at ease around them- in retrospect they say ''He always was a wrong un.''

The problem is that lots of those things might be flagged up in other people who never go on to do anything. How many of those people do we lock up to prevent one incident? A lot of totally innocent ND people would be my guess.

This case might turn out to be different because clearly he had been starting to act out some of his ideations but more generally I don’t think it’s possible to prevent every incident.

userblahblahhaha · 20/01/2025 20:56

Name changed as I'm a local
His family were church goers, his brother is an A grade student doing maths at uni, he's also in a wheelchair. The brothers went to Catholic primary then Range High.
The father is not a Rwandan warlord, that's nonsense.
He was excluded from school, didn't go to Sen school due to lockdown
I know staff that taught him and students that were at school with him.
He's an incel without a doubt, threats to pupils at school were one reason for his exclusion

Supersimkin7 · 20/01/2025 20:57

i think it’s the CPS and public health England. I didn’t know it was undecided, a cliche imho if anything.

Our local psych
hospital has a new autism ward that you can only access from gaol.

the hosp has been the overflow secure facility from HMP Wandsworth for decades. It’s not much good for locals, autistic or otherwise - makes sense to be upfront.

No idea if there’s any treatment on offer, I thought autism
wasn’t an illness.

You don’t think conversations happen behind closed doors? You don’t think soft inducements get offered for dates to fall in a beneficial way? Done at arm’s length, untraceable and deniable. Especially when our PM was DPP and very well connected in legal circles.

Well Starmer stuffed it up then, as all that we have learned today is that there has been a guilty plea.

More information will be made public on Thursday at the sentencing than what came out today. You would think as a former DPP Starmer would know that.

Coldanddamp · 20/01/2025 20:58

wasn't he first reported at age 13 so I do think the parents have some responsibility. He shouldn't have had access to all that stuff

Why would he get a minimum recommended term. I would think the judge would give the maximum term.

Yes, my friend’s brother was a schizophrenic who kept machetes by his bedsides because he was convinced everyone was evil and out to get him.

She always had low level anxiety about what could happen to her.

Coldanddamp · 20/01/2025 18:14

Yep. Black Christian commits a murder and still somehow the muslims are to blame.

I don't think many care what religion he is or his motivation. They care about the children he murdered.

The rioters who attacked mosques and Muslims following the murders didn't give a shit about anything other than blaming Muslims.

Ditto the bad actors and useful idiots spreading disinformation on the internet.

You'd think people would have learnt a lesson back then, but no. They're still claiming he was an Islamic terrorist, that the police, government and media are involved in a cover-up. Not only are they ignorant, they're actively fact resistant.😵‍💫

Good grief what ?

Make a baseless allegation about a senior politician and you’d better be prepared to evidence it.

We both know there's no evidence in the world that would satisfy you, and you sound a bit bonkers.

This.

To me it sounded exactly like a terror act and I already had a deep distrust of the media which deepened when the details released were clearly designed to quell inevitable unrest that an event like this is going to cause. I knew I was being lied to. They think we're stupid and they treat us with contempt.

Yes, exactly this.

So that’s a no then.

You are still going with Starmer represented his father even though the legislation that case was about only applied to immigrants from 2003 and AR’s father immigrated to the UK in 2002 and it didn’t apply to him. Fair enough.

1dayatatime · 20/01/2025 21:02

@PandoraSox

In addition to pleading guilty to the murders of the three girls he also pleaded guilty to producing a biological toxin, ricin, and the possession of an al-Qaeda training manual - a terror offence.

He was also referred to the government's counter-terrorism Prevent programme three times, between 2019 and 2021.

So he was definitely an extremist whether that was motivated by Islam or not we will never know because he pleaded guilty.

What does concern me is that the police have never treated this case as terror related (despite the Al Qaeda training manual and ricin) as they weren't sure of his motive!

If he is a nut job, why did he plead guilty? Just saying. He has pleaded guilty to murder, so he doesn't have "diminished responsibility". Confused.

crumblingschools · 20/01/2025 21:02

If he hadn’t pleaded guilty, today would just have been sorting out the jury. The actual meat of the trial would have started tomorrow, that’s when we would first have started hearing about it, so not on the day Trump became president. Up until this morning he was pleading not guilty and the proceedings had to be stopped this morning as he suddenly changed his plea

Why do you believe brown or black men downloading the Al qaeda manual are Muslim terrorists and yet when far right white men download the same Al qaeda manual to commit terror against Muslims it’s whataboutery?

Yes, we know all this, it has been discussed at length on this thread, maybe have a read.

There are a lot of murderers with personality disorders. He may be one of them. His disorder would simply mean everyone else had it wrong and they were crazy, not him.

Proof that the politician in question settled the Rudakubana family in the UK would satisfy me.

I mean the far-right accounts on x dot com, and LivelySwan wouldn’t make baseless allegations without evidence would they ?

So they must have evidence, especially as we were told to “do our own research”.

The manual’s been around for longer than 13 years. Why are you only interested when black or brown men download it?

Did Al Qaeda not use explosive devices?
