Is it really that wrong to want for your country what Trump stands for?

Anniedash · 20/01/2025 06:51

I know that there are plenty of threads on Trump at the moment, but most of them are designed to rubbish the guy. That’s been done to death in the last 10 years.

He has still won two presidential elections so perhaps it’s time to move the discussion on a bit.Let’s put aside Trump’s personality, bluster, and whether he will deliver or not, for a second.

Is it really so wrong and bad to want to go for what his core message is? Why is the far right label used so liberally and will we ever see a government in this country which can tackle this madness -

A stop to or huge reduction in illegal immigration

Putting your own country first ahead of internationalism. It’s not a novel idea and certainly not a byword for automatically wanting war. In fact Trump’s argument is that war is bad

Saying no the climate hysteria. Climate change is real but climate emergency seems to be a made up concept to simply tax people to death to re distribute taxes to government lobbyists. Why should people accept being poorer in the name of this dangerous ideology

Putting a stop to woke madness. When did it become ok for state sponsored mutilation of children? Men pretending to be women in prison and hospitals getting access to women’s spaces. People being sanctioned do not using the correct pronouns

Driving the economy forward and putting a stop to endless freebies for those who have no intention of contributing to the system and refuse to work because they are sad.

The fact that someone as eccentric as Trump has to fly the flag for common sense ideas shows you just how batshit the political discourse has become.

The half wits who voted for DT are sadly mistaken if they were counting on him to do anything for them.DT as always is looking out for what benefits him. The pathetic people who voted for him fell for DT's lies and now we're all in serious trouble.

He’s done so much for us ALREADY and we’re only in week one. A Tory voter should only be so lucky 🥰

I am American and a lot of us came from families fleeing communism. So
I’m not gonna apologize for my opinions here.

Well you live in a country with a deep history of racial abuse and one where black people are still targeted today.

Black people are still killed for being black.

Be thankful you will never experience that fear.

Black people are not killed for ‘being black’.

And you’ve no idea my personal background so you’ve no standing to lecture me. All I’m saying is that you guys will rend your clothes over some inbred KKK members but won’t care AT ALL about waving communist flags all over the place, even when such people flying those banners have caused very real harm to my family.

So kindly, stop.

BustingBaoBun · 23/01/2025 04:13

If you don't understand that black people are still being killed for being black you don't understand why Black Lives Matter was formed.

Are you saying the unarmed black men, teens, and women killed deserved it?

Black people are not specifically targeted by US police and all the stats I’ve ever seen on this topic bear that out.

Roland Fryer did excellent research on this topic and he was very much frozen out of academia for it. Despite being black himself. Don’t believe the media on this one.

You say you're a refugee yet don't want the US to help other refugees. You don't want immigrants in the States yet don't live in the States, you're an immigrant elsewhere.

You say you want to protect women but the man you admire so much sexually assaults women and releases dangerous men from prison.

You're talking about people waving Communist flags - where in the States are people waving Communist flags?

You deny police racism which is well documented, yet expect people to be sensitive to what you've suffered.

Kindly, stop.

You should stop because you come across as spectacularly uninformed. Police brutality and racism is well documented. Police have been found guilty of murdering black people.

America is an extremely violent and unstable country. When hasn't America been at war or interfering in other countries? No other country has dropped two atomic weapons.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say regarding 'rape gangs' and Southport. Both involved primarily British citizens, they didn't come from violent countries.

I'm not surprised you're denying institutional racism when you're a racist yourself. You want to kick out all the black people and are judging them all as the same. I'm shocked that a Trump fan is racist.

His paper which incidentally was panned for selection bias, did conclude that black people were more likely to experience use of police force than white people.

According to him ( again with selection bias) they were not more likely to be shot. Which has been proven wrong by multiple other studies.

We are well aware of multiple cases where black people have been killed for being black.

How are you possibly debating this?

Eric Garner
Breonna Taylor
George Floyd
Tamir Rice
Trayvon Martin

Tamir Rice was a 12 yo kid with a toy gun! He was shot and killed!

Trayvon Martin?!!! Why was he killed? For being a black teenager in a hoodie walking home.

Further when Fryer was later accused of sexual harrassment he claimed it was because he was black.

I honestly can't believe any one would claim people aren't killed for being black when they are.

I pretty much feel the same when I see images of antifa waving communist flags tbh it’s no different

Are you really comparing the two groups? What’s your evidence for that if you are. Different political views is fine. The KKK were just violent racists who persecuted people and committed heinous crimes.

Or is it just your reaction you are comparing?.

Im guessing all your world news comes via Social Media. For lots of people this is now true. Next time you are looking at your feeds, take a moment to see how it makes you feel. Is it a good feeling or a negative feeling?

I challenge you to an experiment. Spend a week actively searching for alternative views. Read different sources of news. Search terms that you’d never usually search - the opposite to your views. just see what happens. Russia want instability in the West. They want us at war with each other. They are actively working on that via the use of Social Media. Be careful what you read.

The information we take in can be as damaging to our health and well-being as the food we eat, the cigarettes/vapes etc we smoke. It can be a toxin.

I never said that police brutality doesn’t exist. What I said is that BLACK PEOPLE ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY TARGETED. Learn the difference.

America is an extremely violent and unstable country

We are not unstable. We have more violence than in Europe, true. And it is something we need to work on (but you need a bit of policing to get that done LOL)

When hasn't America been at war or interfering in other countries?

Trump never started any wars.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say regarding 'rape gangs' and Southport. Both involved primarily British citizens, they didn't come from violent countries

Pakistan is a violent country, where tribal councils can order innocent girls to get gangraped as a form of revenge for the crimes of their extended family. Surely they’ll leave those customs behind …

And … Axel’s parents are from fucking Rwanda. What is that country famous for? You may say that, oh, he was raised in Wales so that doesn’t matter. But we know that second gen are even MORE likely to engage in criminal activity than their first gen parents. But you never think in the long term I suppose.

I'm not surprised you're denying institutional racism when you're a racist yourself. You want to kick out all the black people and are judging them all as the same. I'm shocked that a Trump fan is racist

I don’t want to kick out black people. Foundational Black Americans are part of the national fabric of America.

I was talking about Haitians.

Repeating the same misinformed nonsense, doesn't suddenly make it a fact. The American police force and judicial system has been found to be institutionally racist. There are many examples of unarmed black people being murdered and assaulted by the police force. The police have been found guilty of the murder of black people.

America isn't unstable? You had an INSURECTION and around 40,000 people die from guns a year. School shootings are a regular occurrence as are mass murders. Don't you have a drug crisis? Wasn't a big pharma CEO recently murdered and his death celebrated because of the health care crisis?

So what you're saying is that even though the perpetrators of the grooming gangs and Southport were born and brought up in the UK, it's the fault of their parents that they committed crimes? That every single UK citizen with foreign heritage is a danger to the fabric of society? Would that include you?

I don’t want to kick out black people. Foundational Black Americans are part of the national fabric of America.
I was talking about Haitians.

Somali, Hmong, Haitian communities have been nothing but detrimental and it is a mistake to let them stay any longer than we have to.

Sure you were talking about Haitians, you just happened to include a load of other black nationals as well. You lumped them all together and said their presence was detrimental. That's definitely not racist.

@RingoJuice

I don't know how many reports there have been over the years on the police force and judicial system but here's another one for you.

The report said that Black people in America are three times more likely to be killed by police than whites, and 4.5 times more likely to be incarcerated.

Your glib response to a well documented issue is to blame black people. I've seen footage of unarmed black people, who pose no threat, being shot dead by the police. These murders and brutality have caused riots.

You call an insurrection, riots, tens of thousands of yearly murders and multiple crisis, "challenges". Trump is packing the Whitehouse with TV presenters, tech bros and other cronies with the intent of tearing everything up and you don't see that as instability.

You think we shouldn't let brown people settle? Are you in favour of an ethnostate?

IMO someone who comes from a country with such a high murder rate is a danger to any country. The States is incredibly violent with high levels of domestic violence, sexual assault, gang violence and murder rates equivalent to war.

Racism is prejudice against people based on their race or ethnicity. You have decided that certain ethnicities are all the same and detrimental to the States. You are telling me that people from certain races shouldn't be allowed to settle.

I had lunch today with a friend who is a speech therapist. During the conversation, we discussed politics and Trump. Her view was interesting - from what she's observed, Trump's communication language is similar to a child. He can't have an in depth interview because he talks in short, grandiose sentences but unable to follow normal patterns of adult communication. She made me laugh when she said "I'd love if I could assess him".

Trump is a clown. A figurehead. A man who believes in nothing except his own glory. The problem for the rest of the world is not Trump, it's the American multinationals behind him in control of the US and their influence in global politics.

And BTW, Elon's salute was a Nazi salute. He supports the AFD in Germany - an extreme right movement with many of their members supporting Nazi ideology, except they can't make the salute or wear the swastika because both are illegal in Germany. As they say, If you look like a duck, swim like a duck and quack like a duck, you are likely a duck.

Some of you seriously need to revisit Nazi's Germany and Hitler's documentaries. It's beyond scary some of the similarities of what's happening with this US mob.

That is such an interesting post. We of course know Trump has various personality disorders but I actually think he is quite low in intelligence. He can't absorb information, keep it, and make decisions on it. I think he is cognitively impaired greatly
