Starmer isn't a sex offender.

America has hit a whole new low. The world looks on incredulous not knowing whether to laugh or cry at the sheer stupidity.

LBFseBrom · 20/01/2025 02:15

Coldanddamp · 19/01/2025 23:38

i find him fascinating, he's awful & people know that but they can overlook it because he really seems to know what people want.

He plays to the worst sentiments of the ignorant, fans their fears.
We have politicians like that here.

Danja2010 · 20/01/2025 02:36

Anniedash · 20/01/2025 00:15

No it doesn’t.

And wages would go up for those remaining if undocumented migrants are deported. Not that this will happen, given the sheer size of the task.

All agricultural jobs are dependent on the US immigrant population . If you don’t believe it then you should read the articles where farmers are worried about just this . It will also affect house building . Now when , Florida , North Carolina and California will need a strong building industry . If Americans are worried about the price of eggs go up they have seen nothing yet . Instead of concentrating on real issues in the background Melani and Trump have just created new crypto coins cuz grifters have to grift as a priority .

You just elected a man from a Party that handed over British girls to be raped by gangs of Muslim men because to do anything to stop it would have cost Labour votes.
You Brits need to take care of your own problems and stop worrying about what Americans are up to.
........
Where did you get that, the Daily Mail? How ridiculous. Starmer hasn't handed any girls to anyone to be raped, there is a limit to what he or anyone can practically do to stop sex trafficking which has happened all over the world for as long as can be remembered. Much has been done to try and stop it but it will not cease altogether. You can't blame the flipping prime minister for everything!

Don't tell me there is no sex trafficking in America because there certainly is, plenty, often highly sophisticated and international. Perhaps Orange Man will put that on his agenda, why not ask him?

timetodecide2345 · 20/01/2025 02:42

@CliantheLang you are seriously comparing a human rights lawyer to a convicted felon and sex offender?

You lot really are off your rocker!

It's actually really sad watching a country spiral into chaos. The shame / or ignorance, whichever side of the fence you sit must be awful.

Savemydrink · 20/01/2025 02:47

RogueFemale · 20/01/2025 01:18

As Kelly Osbourne famously said “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?

Maybe his immigrant wife could do it, @Anniedash?

This is the most disgusting thing I have ever read. You hate Trump, you hate Melania, you clearly hate immigrants and think they are fit for nothing but cleaning your shitty toilets. If you really wish to see a horror show, try looking in the mirror.

WiddlinDiddlin · 20/01/2025 03:02

Anniedash · 20/01/2025 00:15

No it doesn’t.

And why would that be?

Because good old US employers and businesses are hiring illegal staff purely because they can get away with under paying them and subjecting them to atrocious working conditions. That's why.

If the legal, legit American citizen workforce were wanting those jobs that illegal immigrants do, and the employers were paying fair wages and had fair working conditions... they'd be doing them, the illegal immigrants wouldn't get a look in.

Just as the UK has not miraculously seen a massive drop in unemployment as hoardes of british citizens rush to take over the seasonal fruit picking/veg processing work that was, pre-Brexit, done by migrant workers, nor will the US.

MyNameIsX · 20/01/2025 03:08

Trump’s return is terrific for the US and the world (well, most of it).

MyNameIsX · 20/01/2025 03:09

devastatedagain · 20/01/2025 00:41

It's only for 4 years and then he'll be gone forever. It'll be fine.

Starmer?

guaranteedpersonality · 20/01/2025 03:59

The last (current) President has been signing executive orders that he has no memory of, has destroyed women’s sex class rights, and you’re worried about Trump listening to the Village People? Bonkers.

randoname · 20/01/2025 04:06

TooBigForMyBoots · 20/01/2025 01:03

Inflation.

Indeed. Fortunately he wasn’t very good at deporting people last time so let’s hope it doesn’t happen.

BettyBardMacDonald · 20/01/2025 04:14

Why didn't trump fix everything last time around, if he's such a genius? The US was worse off by every traditional metric after his last term.

ChicLilacSeal · 20/01/2025 04:16

MakeYourOwnMusicStartYourOwnDance · 20/01/2025 01:01

I just don't get how he's President again.
Has he not been convicted of a crime?

Yes, but it's pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Paid some hush money to a woman he slept with. And the US Constitution doesn't preclude you from being president if you have a criminal record.

He got voted in because people in the US are absolutely sick and tired of all the far-left activism resulting in things like women's sports being compromised by AMAB athletes, puberty blockers for children, pronoun policing, endless protests and riots, cancel culture, etc. Rightly or wrongly, it's just way too extreme for most people. And the left haven't helped themselves by being totally intolerant of every Trump voter and painting every one as a racist bigot. Some are, of course, but others are small business owners who need the kind of regulations that Republicans espouse, some aren't very knowledgeable, some prefer the religiousness of the Republicans, lots of reasons. It's worth knowing that a few short decades ago, the Republican party was nothing like today's party. It was much more moderate. So you'll get those party faithfuls voting, too. They're voting for old Republican principles like low government interference in people's lives, low corporate taxes to let businesses flourish, etc. and not necessarily for Trump.

The thing about women's sport really matters because those athletic scholarships are worth hundreds of thousands in fees, and the high level of college sports often leads to big things, like the Olympics and world champs and then valuable sponsorships and endorsements. It's not like being benched from the University of East Anglia's netball team. (No offence to them!)

I'm British but live in the US, in a blue state. I'm not a citizen so can't vote. I would never vote for Trump, but I don't automatically think that every Trump voter is the soul of evil either, and I can tell you that everyone I know in this deeply blue state does. The intolerance of the left has a lot to answer for in this.

@GameofPhones Shocked at you and others extolling an economy propped up by the labour of exploited illegal migrants*

MyNameIsX · 20/01/2025 04:28

Rather amusing to see Mandelson perform a sharp volte face, and genuflect towards Trump, whilst Starmer has slammed on the brakes re the Chagos Islands. Talk about two-faced.

I hope the new administration in DC exacts revenge on Labour, for the Harris campaign support, for the vitriol from Lammy, Rayner, Streeting, Khan, and Milliband, to name a few.

I also hope that Musk now takes off the gloves, and does a proper job on Starmer.

Auldlang · 20/01/2025 04:41

timetodecide2345 · 20/01/2025 00:27

I find it astounding and more shocking that at this point in time after his last 4 year reign of terror and everything that's in the news and on social media that anyone can be shocked about Trump.

It's good to keep the instinct for what's appalling. Not to get hardened to it. Makes people feel big and cynical to say "nothing he does shocks me" but the shock is actually healthy.

Haven’t seen the speech but I remember reading about 20 years ago that a million people a year were migrating into the US. Presumably the rate is more now.

If the undocumented migrants were deported, do you really think many American people would want to do the jobs they do? They are just so useful and hard working. Not everyone is prepared to do cleaning, housekeeping, cooking, child minding, gardening, driving, even for more pay. It's the same here in the UK, Boris had to import foreign labour during lockdown to help farmers with the harvest; it cost a lot, they were housed in newly erected prefabricated buiidings for however long it took, then sent home, but someone had to pick the fruit and vegetables and the British didn't want to. The 'foreign' workers were extremely industrious. Our best gardeners, cleaners and plumbers are from overseas, never mind delivery drivers and restaurant staff.

Get real.

Starmer is OK, give him a chance. We gave the last lot more than a chance and they were a real shower!

As for Musk - sheesh!

It is a fact that politicians in this country and others have to be more than diplomatic with the American hierarchy. We just cannot afford to fall out with them whatever may be thought privately. We've seen it time and time again over the decades, it's just how it is, unfortunately.
