Watch it or don’t.

You will however, feel the impact of his administration.

Not so much as I live in the UK now .

He may not get as much done as he thinks . His ego is too big and gets in the way of good governance .

GameofPhones

The country depends on undocumented immigrants for labour. What will happen if they are all deported?

There was an expert on yesterday saying Americans won’t fill these jobs at the start so he predicted about two years of toughness for the country then a rise in employment BUT he did say Trump going two years with people unhappy is unlikely so catch 22

"There was an expert on yesterday saying Americans won’t fill these jobs at the start so he predicted about two years of toughness for the country then a rise in employment"

Is he hoping to see a big rise in unemployment that will force Americans into these jobs?

Because their unemployment rate is currently at a historical low.

Or are they planning to use the forced labour of prisoners to do agricultural and construction work?

If they imprison vast numbers of undocumented workers and charge them with immigration crimes they can then use them as slave labour, like they do US born citizens.

A trifle reductive, no?

His rhetoric alone moves policy and markets. Look at the Hamas ceasefire, watch Ukraine, observe the international response to his threatened tariffs. DEI initiatives in the west will soon be quietly halted.

Musk, meanwhile, provoked scrutiny of the grooming gangs, forcing Starmer to ‘address the nation’.

Your point was that none of this will impact you - but it already is.

"DEI initiatives in the west will soon be quietly halted."

This is something you see as an achievement?

I have a disabled son and a black husband. Given the wealth of social research evidence pointing to a long history of discrimination against disabled and ethnic minority candidate in recruitment, how do you suggest I feel about this no longer being seen as something that should be addressed?

izimbra · 23/01/2025 22:48

BTW - anyone who knows anything about child exploitation knows that the impact of years of grinding austerity on children's services, the care system, and the poorest families, contributed to the ball being dropped repeatedly when it came to protecting the most vulnerable children.

Obviously Musk will never mention this aspect of the issue - he's a neo liberal who's supporting an immigration agenda in the US which is about to send a vast number of children into the foster care system by deporting their parents. He's also going to be the chief architect of trashing the social care system by removing billions of dollars worth of tax payers money and sacking thousands of public sector workers, including social workers.

The poorest and most vulnerable American children are going to have their lives absolutely FUCKED by the incoming administration.

I'm white, white husband, both English, non disabled kids.
Find it horrifying that all this is happening, I'm not virtue signalling before any knobhead starts.
Why are some so keen to brush away what is happening to others thinking they themselves will be exempt?
Just because you aren't the ones first come for, doesn't mean you'll get away free.

Maybe he is foreseeing that by lifting all the regulations on AI, Americans currently in skilled work will soon be looking for low paid work that AI cannot do - the jobs that undocumented people do now. I would not be surprised for example if they get AI to take over healthcare in an ideological way and bypass doctors - eg prescribe sick people with sunshine.

Blame those who have over-emphasised DEI initiatives to the detriment of wider society.

Some would argue it had gone too far.

I am fully against discrimination in any shape or form, for the record.

Quite correct. However people should be employed on merit, not on diversity targets.
People should also not be discriminated against.

I find it sickening and that people will pretend a gesture is a nazi salute when it clearly isn’t to back up their political stance. Millions died in the genocide. That gesture is not a political football for you to toss around without justification to try and win your argument. Extremely ignorant.

Musk has frequently posted his support for Afd, a party who have previously said that the SS "were not necessarily criminal" yet you don't think he has political leanings which align with Nazism?

1dayatatime · 26/01/2025 18:42

@Bluebellysmell

"Musk has frequently posted his support for Afd, a party who have previously said that the SS "were not necessarily criminal" yet you don't think he has political leanings which align with Nazism?"

So there were war crimes committed by both the Waffen SS, the Wehrmacht, Allied troops and Soviet troops.

Equally not all Waffen SS troops committed war crimes just as not all Wehrmacht, Allied and Soviet troops committed war crimes.

So the statement that not all Waffen SS were war criminals is factually correct. Equally not all SS were committed Nazis although many were. Many transferred from the Wehrmacht to the SS because the SS were better equipped which meant that their survival chances were higher.

Savemydrink · 27/01/2025 07:42

Trump clearly outlined all his policies before the election. The people voted for Trump and those policies. Now he is keeping good his promise to the American people. The best person for the job is what he is proposing. Nobody is saying white first, just that they should not be pushed to the back of the jobs queue, behind black, female, trans, gay, disabled, or any other minority that shouts loud enough. A fair go for all, regardless of how they identify or what colour they are.

"😂hairy assed men. Love this statement"

Do you spend a lot of time crudely abusing transwomen online?

Have you ever met a transgender woman and looked at her arse?

I know several women with hairy arses - it's common in women with PCOS.

I know cis-gender men who wax their arses - it's common in the gay community.

Are you a pimply arsed angry feminist who just hates men? How does it feel to be crudely stereotyped and abused in that way? Or maybe it's only transgender people who you think deserve mockery and abuse?

No, I expect izimbra is just a normal person who doesn’t want someone who clearly has male genitalia using women’s spaces
