Grooming gangs being labelled as "Muslim grooming gangs"

1000 replies

Olga009933 · 19/01/2025 17:48

Why is religious heritage of child sex offenders only mentioned in headlines when the offenders are of south Asian and predominantly Muslim heritage.
Why not just label them as "grooming gangs" or "Asian grooming gangs" (if wanting to be be specific).
Just thinking and wondering about the thousands of white British and presumably non-Muslim sex offenders who make the news. How many of them are labelled "Christian sex attacker" or "Jewish pervert" etc? Why is the religious heritage of a sex offender only mentioned why the offenders are of Muslim background?
If mentioning religion for one particular demographic then surely its only fair to mention the religious heritage of them all?

n that particular case, a " Somali Muslim rape gang".

So do you then support calling the grooming gangs as a whole "Muslim grooming gangs"? I'm confused as to what point you're making.

Yes, where the gangs are Muslim, I do support them being described as such. I was giving another example, outside of the Pakistani groups.
I don't agree with them being called " Asian". I remember a Sikh man writing to the Times and requesting that they did not refer to them as " Asian".
( I do realise that belonging to Sikhism is not a nationality).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/01/2025 15:50

Fair enough.

I see a LINK in geographic area around Rotherham with the abuse scandal at the Hesley Group residential special schools.

The school, care home, social care, Lado, safeguarding and police all chose to take NO Action when most vulnerable were being physically, sexually, psychologically and medically abused. Many many reports were made - no action taken, Millions spent investigating & nothing done for victims & no one accountable.

No one had been charged, arrested or prosecuted..

This is criminal. So much for ," care".

Our Pakistani neighbour actually told my husband to keep me in line. Husband was very amused at the thought of even trying to attempt it. Apparently I don't know my place.

Rubbish, where did you read that?

There is no other justification for a quota that let's most rapists walk free on purpose to fudge data. If you want to justify cases being NFA'd on purpose then by all means explain why!

Yes lots, through my time of living in an area in the West Midlands for 5 years.
I even had some I would consider friends.
But the vast majority of young men who openly sexually harassed and intimidated me were Pakistani Muslims.

How did you know they weren't Indian or Bengali or Hindu?

The vast majority of young men who openly sexually harassed and intimidated me were white and I assume Christian heritage.

Left · 21/01/2025 18:48

Disappointed that I misread the thread title and this is not about mushroom grooming gangs 😕

I spent 5 years in a town with an extremely heavy Muslim community. I was followed in the streets on numerous occasions, I was hollered at out of car windows, I was even spat on by a young school boy because I dared to walk in front of him.
These were all Pakistani men, every time.
It was like living in another country and it certainly opened my eyes as a 19 year old.

How do you know they weren't Indian or Bengali or Hindu?

You do realise that most people can tell the difference between different ethnicities don’t you? It is also pretty easy to make accurate assumptions about those ethnicities religions.

Good try with the Christian angle. But given the differences as to the demographic split of Islam and Christianity in the UK its most likely the people you claim to have been harrasssrd by (assuming neither female or over 50) it’s more likely than not they weren’t Christian

As I got higher up in the education sector (2015 ish) I started attending secret meetings about concerns regarding safeguarding within the Roma community. One in particular was attended by representatives from the local schools, the police, social services, NHS etc. We discussed the fact that we KNEW children were being encouraged to defecate themselves to be able to claim more disability benefits, we KNEW they had their children (age 3 upwards) out on the streets unsupervised until the early hours. We had very strong suspicions the parents were complicit in girls as young as 8 being used as prostitutes by Pakistani Muslim men for a cut.
We discussed all the different evidence and situations we’d experienced.

The result of that meeting was that the police and social services decided to not act until we had “more evidence” for fear of backlash and calls of racism from the Roma and Pakistani Muslim communities. The Rotherham situation had broken in the media two years prior. The doctors were very concerned about the long term effect of children no longer holding their bowel movements but the ones with the most power had spoken.

I quit a few weeks later and moved the DV sector. I thought I would be able to do more and help more with the knowledge we had. I did that for a few years before realising it was just more of the same.

I quit and started working in my husband’s business which is in retail.

I know people won’t believe my accounts. That’s who whole problem.

I’ve lived in Romania ( in the 90s) and I believe you. The Romanians felt westerners were very naive about the Roma. Certainly, not all are criminal but some families/ clans have ways of making money ( dislocating their kids shoulders to make them look crippled and beg, offering girl children for sex, selling children) that would make you blanch.

No muslim would be involved in grooming gangs. It goes against Allah.

It's no different to the Triple K calling themselves Christians.

These are just depraved, disgusting individuals..all of them.
Sorry to go off on a tangent but I really wish society could have an honest and open debate on why (mainly) men behave like this, and the triggers that cause them to do deplorable things.

I think it's less concerning what hue did what...I want to know why are most atrocities caused by men, worldwide?

They, the, convicted claim they are Muslim though, it’s not all Muslims, but enough that an estimated 4,000 young girls have been raped and tortured.

I can see lots of well meaning posters on here and quite a few trying to plead ignorance for the sake of keeping face. I have had Muslim men and women friends, tell me it’s happening in the towns and cities I grew up in and around and how to keep safe.

It’s absolutely diabolical that any one would try and defend this by trying to deflect, lots of other groups of people, yes indeed, do commit similar crimes, all of it is based on misogyny, but the fuel for this misogyny is seemingly religious and of a particular faith.

It how they excuse their own behaviour and feel zero remorse for their crimes again a young girls

He was desperate to be able to turn this round to claim victimhood. He doesn’t give a shit about the girls that actually are the victims of these rape gangs Susan Hall did a great job there.

We should definitely take a moment to worry about how we label a bunch of rapists so we get the words just right. Even if that means we have to obscure the actual facts of who the rapists are because, fuck it, it's super awkward being a liberal sometimes.

Let's not worry about the victims apart from a few throw-away statements and platitudes.

This thread has reached a new all-time low.

'What the right hand possesses is in the Quran' This refers to slaves and how it is permissible to have sex with slave women. WHY are you denying the easily provable facts!?

This type of excuse making and denial of certain unfavourable parts of the Islamic belief system is why the abuse these young girls suffered got brushed under the carpet.

That has nothing to do with the girls being abused now.

Slavery was common all over the world then as it is now. That is not the reason why there are grooming and raping gangs now.

SomethingSScintillating · 21/01/2025 20:36

@Feelingathomenow that sadiq clip is blood boiling.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/01/2025 20:52

It is, isn't it. So disrespectful.

SomethingSScintillating · 21/01/2025 21:00

It also felt bullying, smarmy and utterly vicious when we think of the sensitivity of the subject.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/01/2025 21:17

Sadiq Khan is a misogynist.

Obvious SK wanted her to say Muslim or Asian gangs so he could question her use of this

Glad she didn’t fall for it
