Grooming gangs being labelled as "Muslim grooming gangs"

1000 replies

Olga009933 · 19/01/2025 17:48

Why is religious heritage of child sex offenders only mentioned in headlines when the offenders are of south Asian and predominantly Muslim heritage.
Why not just label them as "grooming gangs" or "Asian grooming gangs" (if wanting to be be specific).
Just thinking and wondering about the thousands of white British and presumably non-Muslim sex offenders who make the news. How many of them are labelled "Christian sex attacker" or "Jewish pervert" etc? Why is the religious heritage of a sex offender only mentioned why the offenders are of Muslim background?
If mentioning religion for one particular demographic then surely its only fair to mention the religious heritage of them all?

Hi,
I worked in professions that were involved in this. It absolutely was covered up for fear of being called racist.

Maybe that's what they said to you.* *But it was just a convenient excuse to hide whatever the real reasons were.

Why do you think you have a better understanding of something I experienced for 35 years than I do?

It had exactly the same effect, didn't it, whether they were genuinely fearful or using it to hide behind to avoid doing anything. So it's clearly a relevant factor that this was an issue.

The UK has about 1.5m Pakistanis. There is no doubt Islam is much worse for women than the position of atheism or most of the major Western religions but that of course does not mean Pakistanis just about all of whom are muslim are all involved in these awful offences.

I think the UK muslim community would benefit hugely if it tried to lobby Pakistan to take back its rapists and abusers. If we said we would issue no visas to anyone from pakistan until Pakistan changed its position and took back rapists that might help solve the issues that there are.

"The majority of Caitlin’s abusers were men of Pakistani origin. Likewise, in Rotherham, according to the Government’s own findings, abusers came largely from the Pakistani heritage community. Evidence collated by Sikh Youth UK suggests that cases of abuse against young Sikh females by grooming gangs have also been perpetrated by those primarily of Pakistani or Muslim heritage. If media headlines are to be believed, the same is also true for the horrors perpetrated in Telford, Rochdale, Oxfordshire and a growing list of other places."

"In the tragic cases of child sexual abuse by Roman Catholics or Anglicans, there is no inhibition about identifying these faith traditions, yet there appears to be a degree of censorship when it comes to identifying abusers who call themselves Muslim, or who use warped interpretations of Islam to justify their abhorrent acts. This kind of political correctness is a source of profound frustration and hurt for those, such as Sarah, who have been abducted, raped and trafficked by grooming gangs. Presumably, it is fear of accusations of racism or Islamophobia that has resulted in the religious identity of these abusers being hidden. However, it is important to recognise reality, because this characteristic often affects the nature of the abuse and suffering inflicted. It is also to be hoped that Muslim leaders will take ownership of policies to prevent these atrocities perpetrated by some Muslims bringing such suffering to vulnerable girls and shame on their faith. What steps are the Government taking to ensure that agencies are not inhibited in the protection of vulnerable women and children by cultural sensitivities or fear of being labelled Islamophobic?"

Working in a profession doesn't mean you know the full ins and outs of everything. When have the powers that be, given a monkeys about creating division? Like I said, it's a convenient excuse.

I worked as a children’s solicitor for over 35 years and often represented girls involved in grooming gangs, from the ones portrayed in the media to the ones run by churches, temples and mosques. The gang leaders I know about have , over the years, included Yardie ,Triad, Pakistani, Serbian, Albanian and Romanian men . But the vast majority of the gang, leaders and followers alike , in all that time , have been white, British men. The common denominator, though , has been their sex. Every one of them was male. Nowt to do with religion , colour or creed!

Edited

Don't bring facts and experience into a thread like this Redjoy, it isn't wanted or welcome 🥲

I went to school in Rotherham. I taught in Rotherham. I worked with victims of domestic abuse in Rotherham.

I have a much better idea of what is going on there than you.

That may have been said in Rotherham. Some people may have been worried and that. But that doesn't mean there wasn't more going on beneath the surface. Some higher ups are far from squeaky clean themselves, that's all I can say.

SomethingSScintillating · 20/01/2025 20:27

@Xenia yes it's all very quiet but if people who are Muslim believe you are born Muslim then doesn't that make it a race??

Got to give it to the creators of Islam, every part is nailed down.
You can't escape it or get out of it.

You live in a racist delusion. Hope that helps 😊

Signed, a Muslim who reads the AIBU page just to be "inspired" by all the incredible examples of British men treating women as equals, with respect, definitely never abusive or patriarchal or all the things you consider the exclusive domain of Muslim men

Unfortunately when faced with facts you dont like, this is the response I anticipated. Until just over a year ago, I dealt with the fall out of radicalisation and exploitation. You can't change facts by name calling and people like you are the reason why grooming gangs in Bradford etc went unchallenged for so long and why so many young people suffered and are still suffering. Societies aren't either all good or all bad, they're mixed and having a polarised and negative view of other people's suffering on this forum doesn't portray you as someone willing to listen to critisism or find solutions. Should you really be on this forum if you're going to mock people posting and asking for advice in their hour of need? That really isn't what it's for and as far as Muslim men are concerned, think you need to read my post again...stop generalising

What white gangs? Can you be more specific?

MusicMakesItAllBetter · 20/01/2025 20:38

Olga009933 · 19/01/2025 17:54

Exactly! This is what I mean. It's almost as though the word Muslim is thrown into the mix to deliberately feed the likes of Tommy Robinson type mentalities.
Given that the overwhelming majority of child sex offenders in UK prisons are white and presumably from some kind of Code or otherwise "Christian" heritage or ancestral background, why is Their religious affiliatiom never mention? Is it because they're not Muslim?!

I think you'll find that it's not just Muslims who have their religion/faith mentioned.

I remember numerous articles where it's been stated a Christian man, a Hindu man

What more do you want me to say? I just think it's a convenient excuse. Who in their right mind would care about being called racist if you knew something like that was going on? What about the people who tried to blow the whistle? Did they care about being called racist, no they didn't, they just tried to do the right thing and were ignored.

No need to be sarcastic. I thought you meant white gangs in the community, not in institutions.

Familysquabbles23 · 20/01/2025 20:47

Is it bc religion acts as sone sort of cover for nefarious practices?
Christian vicar abuses little boys or Catholic priest violates young women, or Muslim gang grooms boys/girls seems like it's worse bc theses should be people we trust?

And yes I do see Bosnian/Romanian other ethnic groups targeted as headlines for various bad deeds.

MusicMakesItAllBetter · 20/01/2025 20:48

BlueberryShortcakePixie · 19/01/2025 18:26

Of course the majority are white seeing as we live in a majority white country. White child sex offenders aren’t being covered up, they get convicted and put away. Do you realise how big this shit is?

And all the top people are in on it

Khayker · 20/01/2025 20:38

The white grooming gangs that rape. Similar to the muslim grooming gangs but white british men.

Ah. So it’s just your “hunch” which you think carries more credibility than hundreds of accounts from people who have lived and worked there.

Fair enough 🙄

So what caused the white gangs to be covered up?

What caused the quota on rape cases to be set?

I haven’t claimed to have experience of these.
I HAVE had vast experience of living in Rotherham and experiencing the extent of the power the Pakistani Muslim rape gangs hold there.
