He says 'most women would just laugh', I think he's delusional. Settle a debate please

Hi all. I paid for my boyfriend to get a tattoo yesterday as a gift as he has wanted one for a while. I saw these messages earlier of a conversation he had with a friend whilst getting the tattoo. I was (I believe) rightfully disgusted and annoyed. He says it was just banter and 'lads being lads'. He apologised but added that most women in relationships would just laugh if they saw those messages and maybe be a little annoyed but I'm overreacting.

We live together and I am pregnant. Am I being unreasonable here? (His friend asked who was doing his tattoo, he sent the screenshot. I have blanked out her details for privacy).

I haven't read the whole thread, but if he didn't actually do anything with the woman then I would agree that this is just banter between mates and I would try not to think too much about it.

If the woman in question had seen this and come on to him he would probably have wet himself in fear and come running home to you.

Most men are little boys. As a man I can only apologise, but don't throw away a good boyfriend (if you think he is that) just because he acts like a big man with his friends. That's what little boys do.

The first time his dick goes anywhere it shouldn't, get rid of him.

Ahh a man.

My husband is not a 'little boy' and would never talk like this.

You do not talk for most men.

OP, it's vile and I could not be with someone like that. The comment about his friend knowing him so well in this context, and asking if he is still with you is concerning.

Genuinely depressing that more than one woman on this thread would accept this kind of vile nonsense from their partner.

Are you depressed too that some of we women also do this “vile nonsense” as you call it? I wonder if it being Sunday is why there are so many pulpit preachers on here.

HaddyAbrams · 19/01/2025 00:21

If it wasn't for the fact my ex could write in full sentences, I'd think you were dating my ex. Downside to a younger BF I found. It would have been the lack of mentioning that he had a partner that would have bothered me. Like he didn't want his friends to know I existed.

Mrsbloggz · 19/01/2025 00:22

He is delusional, even worse he is as thick as mince.
It seems unwise to be lumbering yourself with this illiterate teenager.
Are there any redeeming features? Is he useful for anything at all?

Dotto · 19/01/2025 00:22

SummerFeverVenice · 19/01/2025 00:12

Ok, whatevs. I still see nothing to be disgusted about. I think OP is over-reacting. I don’t agree with her bf that “most women would laugh” my reaction would be a complete meh.😑. Total nonissue that the tattoo artist was hot.

The issue isn't that the artist was hot. The issue was that they were objectifying a woman, joking about cheating on his pregnant girlfriend, and they also sound super thick to boot.

If you joked about "giving him one" to your mates, behind your partner's back, I'd judge you too. It's disrespectful.

@TheFairSheep No it's not funny. I feel sorry for you that that's your boyfriend, and I feel sorry for the baby.

They sound like a pair of horny teenagers.

@StormingNorman has it.

If my OH seriously thought it was OK to reply "Yeah but she's not here" to that question he'd be out on his ear. He sounds sleazy and very immature.

I feel awful saying this to you as you're pregnant but you really do deserve better than this piece of crap.

What is he thinking entertaining this nonsense when he has a pregnant partner?? Sorry OP.

Mrsbloggz · 19/01/2025 00:24

How would he react if he saw similar banter between you and female friends on the subject of you having sex with a very attractive male tattooist?
Would he laugh it off??

If a friend text me to say that she bet I was going to get oral sex from the man tattooing me, I would find that depressing, yes.

Must be exhausting to be you and to ensure even your private texts don’t reveal a sexual being under there.

Joke about cheating on their pregnant spouses? If there are any women out there doing that then yes, I find it pretty depressing.

Why? Don’t you like sex? You know that you’re allowed to have fantasies right?

I'm sorry if you haven't met a man who has a bit more respect for women than this.

It's not how someone in a relationship banters. Grim

You are really reaching here.

You can have whatever fantasies you like, but a friend texting me saying she bet I was going to get oral sex is weird. That might be her fantasy, but it's as weird as fuck to text your friend that.

I'm afraid you may be right. The ones who paid some attention at school were more likely to develop the ability to think things through, more discreet, better at hiding things etc.
That's why I stick with 'strong in the arm & thick in the 'ed' . . . it's handy to have a bodyguard & someone who can do what grafting needs doing.

How long have you been with this guy?
His friends don’t seem to know that you are an important aspect in his life, which makes me think you possibly aren’t

Wouldn't be interested in a man like this, his choice of friends also says a lot about him

This thread has given me an epiphany

I have realised that the second thing I find attractive in a man after making sure they don't stink is basic level literacy.

I had never realised this before. I take it that much for granted.

OP, why the hell are your standards so low that you allowed yourself to be impregnated by a cave dweller? Don't get the tattoo. Get a new boyfriend.
