To think my under eye filler looks awful?

It’s been 2 weeks since I had it, all I can see is a line of filler??

To think my under eye filler looks awful?

So if I am right you have had a blepharoplasty, tear trough, jaw filler and now undrereye filler by your early thirties?

Seems excessive.

I really wouldn’t call that excessive. All done within a 9 year period.

Younger women than me especially on social media have a hell of a lot more work.

Lentilweaver · 14/01/2025 22:40

You had your first filler when you were around 23?

Anyway what do I know- I am ancient and clearly incredibly out of touch. So glad to be ancient though!

Ghosttofu99 · 14/01/2025 22:40

I’m not talking about the op in this instance just cosmetic procedures in general.

I can understand why 40+ women might feel the pressure to get stuff done. But generally when people I know under that age get it done it just makes girls look a lot older, I guess because they are adding to what was already a naturally ‘youthful’ shaped face.

Seeing all their peers on socials looking the same way with the same shaped features must put a lot of pressure to emulate the same looks.

People should do what they want and what makes them happy but I do think it’s a bit weird to pretend that young women look better or more youthful especially as most won’t be able to afford to get it done to a high standard.

I hope there will be less pressure to go down this route for future generations.

Flittingaboutagain · 14/01/2025 22:43

I wouldn't look at your face and think you have had filler that's gone wrong, I would assume you are of a certain age (50s?) and have heavy bags under your eyes. On that basis I agree you should complain.

Flittingaboutagain · 14/01/2025 22:45

Just read your updates. I'd be so sad if you were my daughter and felt you needed to alter your face in your early 20s. I hope you have been pursuing other ways of feeling good in your own skin. You're so young to feel like you need to be "more". You're enough.

KateDelRick · 14/01/2025 22:46

I agree,this doesn't look good.
Those under eye hollows look awful, and it's very ageing. Probably it's a good idea to get them dissolved. I hope you get your money back.

MumblesParty · 14/01/2025 22:46

I do worry for the current cohort of young people. If they’re so upset by their appearance in their 20s that they have to pay for expensive and risky procedures, how the hell will they cope post menopause, when it really does all start to fall apart?!!

Yes, I would agree, probably late 60s, they've really messed up.

She does not look like she’s in a her late 60s.

Ger1atricMillennial · 14/01/2025 22:50

I would ask the practioner ASAP and asking that if the new ridge is present will go away, if so how long should I wait? Is it in both eyes or just one.

Also ask what signs and symptoms you should watch out for to know if the filler hasn't work, or should be dissolved.

Record the conversation in writing (I think you need their permission to record their voice). Make sure you get down exactly what they say. When they speak ask her to slow down because you want to make sure you get the details correct.

I don't know how plastic consultations work but if you have to get it dissolved, ask for a refund.

I've no idea what she looks like. The picture is only of the eye hollow, which is very ageing amd looks like that of a much older person.
The procedure most definitely hasn't worked.

burberrygodess · 14/01/2025 21:09

Excuse the hair it was wet

That entire bump is just filler. I didn’t have a bump there before.

I can see the ridge,
when is your review appointment?

Kimalexandra · 14/01/2025 23:02

I get under eye filler, mine took a few weeks to settle in it always looks like that untill swelling settles it will settle down and look fab 👌

littlemissprosseco · 14/01/2025 23:07

Dentist here!
It should settle, give it a little longer.
As to how long it will take to resorb… that will depend on what filler was used. Again, if you decide to have it dissolved, how well that will work will depend on what type of filler has been used.
Good luck

fluffyblanky · 14/01/2025 23:12

This woman does not look 50/60!!!!! I feel like that is being said just to be unkind.

Some people are so bitchy on here particularly on filler/Botox threads. OP does not look 60s for goodness sake.

Extreme bags …. Bit dramatic

I mean, you asked for opinions. If you are going to get snippy with people answering honestly, why ask? I thought the same as the PP, you look as if you haven't been sleeping well.

Lentilweaver · 14/01/2025 23:14

This is likely superficial filler. You need to be firmly pressing and massaging this. Most filler settles 2-3 weeks after injecting and I recall you saying it's already been 2 weeks. When is your review?

RisingSunn · 14/01/2025 23:18

burberrygodess · 14/01/2025 22:19

I’m in my early 30s and you think I could be 60? Fantastic ..

If really you are in your early 30s - then you probably should get that dissolved. As I also thought you were in your 50s from that picture.

wizzywig · 14/01/2025 23:20

GretchenWienersHair · 14/01/2025 21:35

A friend of mine who administers filler injections always tells clients she won’t do under eyes as it tends to migrate more than any other area. It looks like what she described to me when I asked what she meant.

Oh don't say that! Mine look great!

I didn't think OP was fifties, to be fair, but I certainly would have put her at at least my age, and I am 42. Certainly not early thirties.

Keeponkeepingon9 · 14/01/2025 23:24

I honestly wish women would just leave their faces alone unless its trauma repair. Is makeup not enough?

Survivingnotthriving24 · 14/01/2025 23:26

Twaddlepip · 14/01/2025 21:47

Oh OP. You need someone who really understands anatomy. This filler needs dissolving. I fear this ‘nurse’ will just add more.

Have a look at Dr Steve Harris on Instagram. That’s the sort of person who should be injecting your face.

This isn’t meant to be a condescending or cruel post. I think well done filler is fantastic. That and Botox are the only things that make a real identifiable difference to aging. I have both.

This!

Do not let a nurse near your face with filler, it's an absolute disgrace it's not illegal.

DreamingOfASilentNight · 14/01/2025 23:30

It does look like a bit of a bump. It may be possible that the filter has caused a tiny malar bag or festoon which is a potential complication of under eye and upper cheek filter. The lymphatic drainage in the area is inhibited and the filler itself, due to it's nature attracts water and puffs up. This can look worse earlier in the morning sometimes. People aren't all suitable for under Eye filler regardless of their hollows and it is a significant complication. Test through filter is also more likely to cause granulomas in the area which are small bumps under the skin. These can only be removed by excision.Try massaging it with a gua sha to assist drainage and pay attention to what makes it nurse if anything. I can't see clearly from your images but you might be more sensible to dissolve the filter and have an alternative stimulating treatment or even laser to tighten up the skin and reduce and darkness or laxity.
