It’s been 2 weeks since I had it, all I can see is a line of filler??

Did you have midface filler at the same time? My Doctor said it's sometimes needed as scaffolding for the under eye filler (not the words she used but you get the idea).

Agree with these ALWAYS have cheek filler when having tear troughs filled. Even just a small amount

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 14/01/2025 21:30

That doesn't look good sorry @burberrygodess Is there any way to get it removed? Sorry to sound thick, I have never had fillers/have no experience with them. Could you get it removed, and then get it put back in (but with a better result) ?

Imperrysmum · 14/01/2025 21:26

Yeah I have the exact same line/ridge with mine, been here for 4 years now 😭 was hoping it would go away

Edited

Did you ever think of getting it dissolved?

You can definitely get it dissolved. I’ve never had it done but heard it’s quite painful.

Well I did ask this as I did my research and spoke about it at my consultation but someone else did the treatment who I was promised was just as good.

Under eye filler is a bad idea for the reasons you have discovered. I would choose blepheroplasty instead any day and I’m not into surgery.

There’s a piece on YT by a US plastic surgeon about why he stopped using filler under the eyes and what he found in patients who have had it done. Really recommend you watch it.

No more painful than having it filled!

Airpowercper · 14/01/2025 21:33

Did you put eye drops?

GretchenWienersHair · 14/01/2025 21:35

A friend of mine who administers filler injections always tells clients she won’t do under eyes as it tends to migrate more than any other area. It looks like what she described to me when I asked what she meant.

Bucketoftwohorns · 14/01/2025 21:35

In my experience under eye filler is never satisfactory. It is injected along the eye socket when actually people who are having it to fill hollows, need it higher up, towards the eye. For obvious reasons, practitioners won’t inject in that area. Hence the unsatisfactory result.
Ive had it and didn’t like it. Have since had a fat transfer in that area (done by plastic surgeon) which is better but still not great. Don’t think there’s any great way to solve hollow eyes unfortunately.

LostittoBostik · 14/01/2025 21:37

I wouldn't actually assume that was bad filler, I'd think it was extreme bags... so on that grounds definitely room to complain if it doesn't settle

Just to say I’m very researched on the topic and I’ve even had a blepharoplasty in 2022. Fillers and bleph treat different issues.

Extreme bags …. Bit dramatic

It definitely doesn't look great, like it's all settled in one place.

Have you had filler before or elsewhere? It doesn't always settle well on everyone. Have your lips settled ok?

SnidelyWhiplash · 14/01/2025 21:41

Was it supposed to help with the hollows under your eyes? It’s hard to tell with only ‘after’ pics. I can see the ridge, so I’m not surprised you’re unhappy. But hopefully your practitioner knows how to fix this.

pandapopadance · 14/01/2025 21:42

I had the same happen. Had a doctor do it who I had seen results of previously. It went like yours. I had it dissolved (wasn't too painful). I do have a little dent on one side now which I think has been caused by dissolving.
I just think filler doesn't sit well on some people.
I've had poleonucleotites (not spelt right!) which have been much better.

My lips? I don’t have filler in my lips.

I previously had jaw filler but that was pre Covid and I had tear trough done maybe 8 years ago ..

Nurse

Oh OP. You need someone who really understands anatomy. This filler needs dissolving. I fear this ‘nurse’ will just add more.

Have a look at Dr Steve Harris on Instagram. That’s the sort of person who should be injecting your face.

This isn’t meant to be a condescending or cruel post. I think well done filler is fantastic. That and Botox are the only things that make a real identifiable difference to aging. I have both.

soupfiend · 14/01/2025 21:50

Out of interest for those of us who dont really understand these things, what difference does it make if the person is a medical practitioner or a cosmetic professional, havent they both had the same cosmetic training? Surely training to do fillers is the same whatever?

Imperrysmum · 14/01/2025 21:50

burberrygodess · 14/01/2025 21:30

No, I lost faith in their abilities, even though I went to a highly rated place. The doctor that did my filler trains lots of other doctors to do fillers, but even he messed it up 🤷‍♀️

Basketry · 14/01/2025 21:50

I’ve had tear trough filler. I only get it done by a doctor who only does aesthetics work now. She has won various awards and is very experienced. I also got something similar to you. She warned me about it in advance and said something along the lines of…..,(and I can’t remember exactly so I may be using the completely wrong terms here!) …..the fact that some people have very strong ‘tendons’ (?) there and it can cause that kind of effect. She showed me on herself actually - when she scrunches her nose, she gets the same sort of thing and she said tear trough filler can highlight this.

However, that does look a bit overfilled imho so I’d definitely get it checked out. Mine did disappear after a few months but I think you’re is more pronounced.

I have to say, I would only get this done by a specialist, full-time doctor, not a nurse or someone who does it as an addition to their job. Done well, tear trough filler is amazing for hollow under eyes (not bags as people on here have said).

Have to say, I thought similar. My reaction was ‘that’s like my eyes when I’ve not slept well, been working long hours and am extremely tired’.

I’d complain / ask for a fix OP.

So training to do fillers is a half day course (some are longer, but most are a half day) and usually also includes Botox training. A medical professional will already have more detailed knowledge of the anatomy of where filler and Botox is being placed and the training will only give basic knowledge of this, with most training relating to placement, side effects and risks.

HPBrownSauce · 14/01/2025 21:58

It doesn't look good. There should be no line at all. I've seen friends with filler done by some of the best doctors doing it and it looks nothing like yours.

Sorry.

I don't know who you used but it should be a doctor or a dentist (some are both).

You can get is dissolved.
