It’s been 2 weeks since I had it, all I can see is a line of filler??

To think my under eye filler looks awful?

Oh OP. You need someone who really understands anatomy. This filler needs dissolving. I fear this ‘nurse’ will just add more.

Have a look at Dr Steve Harris on Instagram. That’s the sort of person who should be injecting your face.

This isn’t meant to be a condescending or cruel post. I think well done filler is fantastic. That and Botox are the only things that make a real identifiable difference to aging. I have both.

I’ll have a look, thanks for the recommendation.

I thought I was going to somewhere reputable who understood what I wanted. It was an hour away from me too (so I didn’t just go to the nearest person) and it cost £430

Out of interest for those of us who dont really understand these things, what difference does it make if the person is a medical practitioner or a cosmetic professional, havent they both had the same cosmetic training? Surely training to do fillers is the same whatever?

Dentists and doctors have spent years studying facial anatomy. They are highly qualified already and understand the risks. There is also a massive difference in the amount of training available in facial fillers from years to a few weeks.

beAsensible1 · 14/01/2025 22:01

You might not have need the filler but rather a a tear through. They never say tho

Mirabai · 14/01/2025 21:32

Under eye filler is a bad idea for the reasons you have discovered. I would choose blepheroplasty instead any day and I’m not into surgery.

There’s a piece on YT by a US plastic surgeon about why he stopped using filler under the eyes and what he found in patients who have had it done. Really recommend you watch it.

They usually never bring it up as they can’t bloody do them!

Bogginsthe3rd · 14/01/2025 22:03

I think one of the issues is the filler has just formed a lump and it's accentuated by the dark circles around your eyes. What does the other side look like ?

ManchesterLu · 14/01/2025 22:04

SereneFish · 14/01/2025 20:49

Filler always look terrible.

Absolutely not. It's just that you don't notice the good ones.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 14/01/2025 22:04

I couldn't see any filler like that after I had mine done a year or so ago.theyve done it wrong.

HPBrownSauce · 14/01/2025 22:05

Look at the quality of training for the Cosmetic Skin Clinic in London.
Many of the practitioners are dentists or doctors. Dr Tracy Mountford is one of the best in the UK ( her lists are closed now) .

Tear trough fillers are risky- you need someone expert, Too near the eye and blindness is a risk if injected too close to a vein.

3luckystars · 14/01/2025 22:08

What kind of age are you?

I saw a video the other day and the surgeon says over 50 there is no point doing fillers. He doesn’t do them anymore anyway but over 50 he said you just need a facelift and there is no point trying to fill anymore. I’m not sure what age you are by the photos, apologies if you are much younger, I can only see your eye so please don’t take offence at the question!

12345mummy · 14/01/2025 22:08

I had this last year OP, a lump which the practitioner said would settle. It didn’t and after a month I opted to have it dissolved and redone. It’s still never been right and I’m waiting for it to dissolve naturally. I rushed into it and whilst the practitioner is very experienced I hadn’t done my research. I didn’t realise that eye trough filler is hard to get right. I’m now worried about how bad it’ll look once it’s dissolved. Don’t be fobbed off if they say it’ll settle. This almost congealed straight away and for a month friends thought I had a black eye!

StormingNorman · 14/01/2025 22:08

There is a little ridge there but it does look slightly bruised so may be some swelling too. I would definitely raise it at the review.

That's nonsense.

what else would a surgeon say- promoting surgery?!

Blindness? 😧

Namechange4840 · 14/01/2025 22:12

Il be honest it has sort of given you the look of "bags" you can see a line perhaps not a good injection technique and does depend on the injector. My mum once had filler in her lips it ended up like clumps like literally individual balls in her lips she had to get it dissolved. I've never had filler under my eyes but if you have had it before and know this is not normal then see what they can do to resolve it as it may need dissolved it does sit out.

12345mummy · 14/01/2025 22:12

PS - In hindsight I should have got it fully dissolved and asked for a refund. I didn’t want to because I was having other ongoing treatments and didn’t want it to be awkward.

burberrygodess · 14/01/2025 21:38

Just to say I’m very researched on the topic and I’ve even had a blepharoplasty in 2022. Fillers and bleph treat different issues.

If you’re well-researched you’ll know that what has happened is not uncommon with eye filler.

It’s possible to do a blepheroplasty so that you don’t need filler, sometimes with fat transfer. This guy’s work is amazing:

Blindness? 😧

Yes. This is why I go to a phenomenal doctor who never injects without ultrasound guidance.

That beauticians can inject people’s faces with filler after a half day course terrifies me. Absolutely. Necrosis is horrifying. And that’s just one potential awful outcome.

hope you can get it dissolved op. I’m another one who thinks filler looks awful, but maybe as people say I only notice the bad ones (of which there are many)

Lentilweaver · 14/01/2025 22:29

So if I am right you have had a blepharoplasty, tear trough, jaw filler and now undrereye filler by your early thirties?

Seems excessive.

stanleypops66 · 14/01/2025 22:31

It does look like bad under eye bags. When is your review?

MumblesParty · 14/01/2025 22:32

Where was it meant to go? It looks as if it’s been injected into the very spot that gets the bags already.

Gettingbysomehow · 14/01/2025 22:34

Quite honestly I didn't know they did under eye filler. I've never heard of anyone having it. I cover my problems with concealer made for my age group.
Maybe it just needs time to settle you see celebrities who have massive fat faces after loads of filler then it settles into something that looks better.
I would have thought this would be the same principle. You'd have to ask the person who did it.
